Re: OOC and General Rules

I just paused the game where it was (too many people were gone for Labor day), so it is your turn.  Combat has just started.

I must be having a brain thing...first misposting and deleting last round...yeah, I'll edit it.  Cat and Garious are slowly making their way along the ledge/slope.

Re: OOC and General Rules

DM:why did you post both a climb and a balance roll, you only need 1 or the other?

Glum: I wasn't sure which was needed because I wasn't sure whether Tanrov had fallen far enough down that I'd have to climb

Actually, Remove Paralysis has a range;

Remove Paralysis
Conjuration (Healing)
Level: Clr 2, Pal 2
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Targets: Up to four creatures, no two of which can be more than 30 ft. apart
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)
You can free one or more creatures from the effects of any temporary paralysis or related magic, including a ghoul’s touch or a slow spell. If the spell is cast on one creature, the paralysis is negated. If cast on two creatures, each receives another save with a +4 resistance bonus against the effect that afflicts it. If cast on three or four creatures, each receives another save with a +2 resistance bonus.
The spell does not restore ability scores reduced by penalties, damage, or drain.

 You could try to use it on both Garious and Tanrov, but then it would only give them a reroll, which they might fail (even with a +4).

Talis- Cat has the returning dagger.
     -you had a sword in hand, sheathing it is a move action, you can
        a- drop sword and be ready with bow next round
        b- have sword/bow out, threatening with sword, but next round you will
           have to drop/sheathe sword(move action) before you can use your bow.

I got nothing.  We need to close on him and beat him down.  Cat, any stones or rays left?

How'd that fungus burning go?

Zer-wedula:
"We are doomed," Zer-wedula mutters as he drinks a cure light wounds potion and readies a second.

Could have told you that long ago. We're too low leveled, with low BAs and saves.

Re: OOC and General Rules

Actually, you aren't too low level.  It's a number of factors, including character builds and tactics;
- [Private to Zer-wedula: no fly spell, which is usually among the 1st spells a wizard learns]
- [Private to Catessa Fallowfield: when has Cat used any warlock power except her EB
  and it took a prompting by Talis to use wildshape
]
  enchanters are useful, but not vs undead
  rogues are useful, but not vs undead
- You did miss 2 chances to move this fight to a more favorable terrain (inside the room).  1-In the 1st round, everyone should have followed Talis and Zer off the slope instead of engaging the goblin ghouls on the slope.(When Cat slipped, she could have wildshaped into a flier and avoided the ghouls)
        2-In round 4 when "His Lordship" begged for mercy.  Instead of getting him to move into the room, surround him and ask questions.  You just attacked.  This let the Skinsaw man out, with just enough space to jump out into more favorable terrain.
   If you had moved this into the room, this would have been over 8 rounds ago.
- Tanrov got taken out by luck, but when you try to fight on such terrible terrain, luck is eventually going to catch up to you.

Re: OOC and General Rules

We just made the wrong decisions.

It's easier to talk - then kill.  it's much harder to try to kill- then talk.

Re: OOC and General Rules

Bygones.  Our group tactics suck and after this lets take a break and correct it.  I am as remiss as anyone.

That being said, let us smack him froma distance and see if we can entice him into the room.  I have a wand of shocking grasp that might even things up.

Cat plots. If you can keep him in there, Cat may be able to do something. [Private to DM: Could Cat toss Earthen Blast into the room?]

I know I'm a dwarf but unfortunately, because of the earlier strength damge, I'm at Str 7 so a bullrush isn't going to happen.

Re: OOC and General Rules

I once played in a game where a 6 str sor, out of spells, took a trip aoo vs a giant...and won (giant rolled a 1 and the wizard rolled a 20).  Hilarity ensued.  Of course, this is the same sor who forgot to cast mage armor until 3/4 of the way through a test.

so add a single magical item of 2500gp or less.
