Zer-wedula takes a pause to look around and make certain no new foes are heading out after him or headed in to the battle from outside while he puts his wand of magic missile in his left hand and his eternal wand in his right.

Miriam tenses a bit as Logalog moves at her, not entirely sure he hasn't decided to changes sides yet again with the presence of reinforcements on the Red Mantis side of things.  She relaxes as it proves to be a ruse and directs her spectral dagger to assist the attack on the southern of the new arrivals, then takes a step or two towards Cat's animal companion and touches him with a healing hand, sealing up the worst of his rather grievous-looking injuries.

OOC:
Move: Redirect spritual weapon to attack bottom assassin - hits AC 20 for 8 damage.

Standard: Cast CSW - heals for 30 with 50% bonus from Healing domain.

Round 6
Even with surprise and a prayer spell SlowedLogalog barely hits the Mantis.  The Mantis manages to avoid most of the damage and looks hurt but functional.

SlowedCatessa Fallowfield looks for the blight druid, and realizes his last location was 30’ (or so) in the air.  There must be balcony or something hidden by the mists, so she follows Jans lead toward the 2nd floor, though slowed the best she can do and still use her last bolt is a 5’ move.  With her eyes toward Jan her best target is 1 of the Mantis, but he takes no damage as he evades the bolt.   Murphis follows Cat,

Jan reacting on animal instinct, Jan starts clawing and biting the one he hit before.  He does 9 damage to the Mantis.

[Private to Zer-wedula: You look around as you move back to the entrance; you don’t see anything out of place.  The “doors” appear to be locked.]

Sammiya Koi and her dog [Private to Sammiya Koi: Akihiro] whirl and move into the fog looking for the woman who threw a dagger at them.  The sounds of fighting are heard from the mist.   [Private to Sammiya Koi: While Sam has no idea where she is Akihiro does not hesitate and moves straight to the target.  He finds her alright, her and a friend.  As the pair start to attack the slutty woman, the halfelf waitress appears behind them and attacks Sam – hitting with a dagger for 12 damage.  Then Samhiro attack, Sam hit’s twice but Akihiro misses.  The slutty woman takes 12 damage, and is hurt, but still functional.

Miriam's dagger flies through the air and attacks the Mantis on Logalog, It plunges in, hurting him badly, but not quite enough to take him down.  Then she heals Murphis 30 hps (up to 38hps).

Grigori still invisible…but still talking  “Come on, you are Mantis, you cannot be defeated.”, the shield moves over next to the downed gnome wizard.  The oratory stops and a single word is spoken.  The gnome wizards wounds begin to heal.  Alas, luck is not with Grigori and the gnome is still unconscious.

[Private to Talis Revain: does see a small door open, but not enough for the Halfling to get in or out.  Talis pokes in the hole with his sword and hits for 11 damage.  Talis gets an AOO when the Halfling throws a couple of him, but misses.  The halflings daggers don’t miss, doing 4 damage to Talis.  They have a poison on them and Talis also takes 2 con damage, but doesn’t need to make any more saves.]

The male halflings voice comes from the deepest shadows 80’ away “So you are Zer-wedula.  I missed you at the Townhouse.  It’s a shame those clerics efforts will go to waste, but my employer will be pleased when you and your companions are dead, You shouldn’t have interfered with Skinsaw business.”  Zer can’t see the Halfling, he can only hear him. ]

"Hyu tashte goot." Jan declares with a madness in his voice, licking his bloody lips. He salivates as he seemingly ignores his own life threatening situation. The Alchemist can feel his veins burn with red hot excitement and the cold sting of a sedative poison. Jan enjoys the feeling.

Jan seems excited beyond belief, even to the point of orgasmic release as he feels the poison rush through him. His enlarged heart beats harshly, straining under the pressure of the feral mutagen, the damaging wounds, and the giddiness of pressing the attack against the Mantis he focused on.

His claws swipes at arms and chest, trying to create a opening for another bite. Jan meant this time to tear flesh away. His instincts and addled mind sing for blood and flesh. Jan is riding high, on a cloud of contentment even as he bestially tries to wreak havoc on his targets.

Logalog grimaces as the Red Mantis' blade cuts into his side. Damn! he thinks, so much for cleverness. No matter how the might of my magic, these Mantis are equally  deadly. I must not forget who I'm dealing with.
  As he readies to face his attacker, Logalog's body begins to shudder, causing the room to swim before his eyes.
  "Double damn!" he mutters under his breath. He'd forgotten the Red Mantis signature kill: death by poison. "Fight it. Fight it! Stay the course."
   Luckily, Logalog is made of tougher stuff than most. Through Orcish toughness and shear will power, he shrugs off the poison's effects. All that remains is the pain reminding him him to act. He quickly scans the room. Letting his battle-hardened instincts take over, he makes the quickest move he can behind Tanrov.
   " My good sir," Logalag says cordially to the fighter, "will you be a dear and chop down that bleeding Mantis like the worthless piece of firewood he is? I want to make a big fire, and I think he'd make it burn quite nicely." Not waiting for a reply, he begins his spell.

[Private to GM: Figuring the doors were indeed locked, Zer-wedula moved to them and used the knock power of his wand to unlock them and re-enter the death trap of a building.]

DM: On Zer's turn, everyone will see (who is in a position to see) the door open and Zer standing there with 1 vampire bat sucking his blood and another flying around his head.  But only Miriam can react to this news...

Seeing the vampire bats, Miriam sends her force dagger to attack the one sucking on Zer-wedula's neck, but it's not terribly accurate in its thrusts.  She takes a few steps closer to Jan, trying to get him in range and then channels energy again, sending out another burst of healing to most of those around her.

5' step north to get Jan in range.
Move: Redirect spiritual weapon to vampire bat.  Hit AC 12 for 4.
Standard: Channel energy for 13 to those within 30', excluding the three most damaged enemy targets who aren't dead.

SlowedCatessa Fallowfield casts a bulls str spell on  Murphis and sends him to help Jan.  The dog gleefully lopes up to the Mantis on Jan and tears into him 13 dam.  The unexpected assault is too much and the Mantis goes down.

Jan seems unaware of his wounds, unaware of his surroundings and unaware of any skill.  His only concern seems to be ripping his opponents into quivering little chunks of Mantis flesh…but his bark IS worse than his bite, since it and both claws miss.

SlowedTanrov attacks, but misses and then steps back.

SlowedLogalog moves and then waits for Tanrov to move before using burning hands, to fry several targets.  The smell of burning humanoid mixes with the stench of burning troll to create a charnel house smell.  The halorc bouncer and gnome wizard are consumed in flames and a yell from an invisible Grigori indicate he took damage as well.  Alas, the Mantis seems to anticipate this spell and he leaps over it (evasion).

Zer-wedula,
[Private to Zer-wedula: Zer uses his wand to Knock the door unlocked and then opens the door.]
from the main door the lock unlocks itself and the door opens to reveal Zer standing there.  An angry, starving vampire bat is flying around his head and another is busy sucking his blood.

Sammiya Koi[Private to Sammiya Koi: and Akihiro attack their respective targets, each hitting once.  The dogs target proves to be too elusive to trip with that roll.

By splitting your attacks you have left them both still alive and fighting.  You probably should have just attacked 1 target for 2 reasons;  Rogues are MUCH deadlier as a team than they are alone and I will automatically switch you to a new target if the 1st one dies.  Just a word to the wise..

Miriam's dagger flies through the air and attacks the bat on Zer.  The bat is so focused on sucking that the dagger almost skewers it in a blow, but at the last moment the bat moves just enough that the dagger only scratches it. (wounded, but not dying).  Then she moves, stepping around the dead troll, and heals again.  This time she gets everyone in the group for 13 healing.  She doesn’t heal the Mantis on Jan, the dwarf or the Mantis on Tanrov.

Grigori still invisible,,,casts a spell, and then he moves very quickly toward the front door (everyone can tell this by the “floating” visible buckler.  Apparently he doesn’t like what he sees, so he moves around Tanrov and Logalog, by the dead troll and across the open double doors and ends up next to the mist.  There is little doubt the spell he just cast was expeditious retreat.  He is heard to say as he goes by the troll, “Good riddance to bad rubbish”, finished by what could be a spitting sound.

DM: You have lost 3 con, going from 15 to 12 (or +2 to +1 hp/level), so your maximum and current hps went down as well, -1hp per level per 2con = -6hp.

"I am known and beset by all," Zer-wedula shouts.  "The half-sized one summoned these bats and he lurks outside."
Zer-wedula stepped five feet further into the inn.

In smoke ...[Private to GM: jump up on bar, try to peak outside and throw a dagger at 1 of the mantis.

Lagalalog graciously accepts Tanrov's offer to take another chop at the Red Mantis and steps back. Should he fail, though, Logalog readies another spell.

Last round for slow
This combat is almost done, but there are a couple of details that I want to see how they play out.  So...

Round 8
SlowedCatessa Fallowfield begins to cast a summoning spell while moving slowly (5’) toward the stairs.  With no further instructions, Murphis continues to attack the Mantis he brought down and tears his throat out.  He is most definitely d.e.a.d..dead.
SNA is a full round spell, so will take both this rounds and next rounds actions to cast, as Cat is Slowed.  But this should be the last round of it.  Cat will only have a move action next round.

Jan attacks the Mantis near him, as Murphis is attacking the other.  Both the dog and Jan seem very bestial.  Jan misses.

[Private to GM: ½ speed tanglefoot]Talis succeeds in jumping up on the bar, but the residual goo on his feet causes him to misjudge where the smoke edge is and he comes out of the smoke early and loses the element of stealth.  It doesn’t matter anyway as his dagger goes flying over everyone’s heads.

SlowedTanrov attacks, and barely hits.

SlowedLogalog moves and then targets the wounded Mantis, blasting him straight to hell with 3 magic missles.  That Mantis is dead.

Zer-wedula staggers forward and carefully casts a spell.  He hits one of the bats with a ray of frost, but the bat proves tougher than he thought and it continues sucking his blood.

Sammiya Koi[Private to Sammiya Koi: and Akihiro attack the slutty woman and their skill proves to be too much for the mantis assassin.  The dog hits and trips her, while Sam finishes her off.  There is no doubt that this target is dead.]

Miriam's dagger continues to attack the bat on Zer and it hits again, for even more damage and, together with the frost damage, it brings the bat down.  The bat falls off Zer and vanishes.  Then Miriam channels positive energy again.  This time she gets everyone in the group for 12 healing.  She doesn’t heal the dwarf or the Mantis on Tanrov.

Grigori starts his motivational speaking again, “Remember, you are Mantis, you are strong, you are undefeatable…”.

Sammiya felt almost dead, but was still unwilling to just trust that the woman who had just tried to kill her would leave her alone now. With the slutty woman dead, Sammiya directed Akihiro after the half-elf waitress who had just faded into the mist.

rolled 6,15 using d6+4,d20+7. Bite damage & Trip check.

Sammiya Koi;

"I said, I would protect you, and I shall mage man," Tanrov/Garth says to Logalog rather gleefully as he takes a swipe with his sword at the newly visible Mantis.   T/G says "Take this sword as your payment for your actions, you sneaky bastard."

Talis comments to Zer, “Which one, we’ve got four?  Our’s?  Their’s?  The new one?  The one under the bar?  Or one of the druid halfings?  We’ve got 2 of those running around."  Talis draws an alchemist fire out and drops off the bar (5’ north).  Looking back he says, “I’d love to stay and play, but it’s going to be a hot time on the town tonight”, and he drops the alchemist fire on top of the bar (where hopefully there are various alcoholic concoctions that Tanrov and his friends had been drinking and spilled).
