Re: 2.2 Magnimar

"The sooner we are out of here, the better," Zer-wedula says.  He points at the dwarf waitress.  "Do we take her, or finish her, because I am not leaving her," He asks.

"Oh, and I am wounded and have lost blood to the bats the halfling summoned, so the sooner we stop bickering and threatening and start healing and leaving, the happier we will all be."

Zer-wedula is a half-elf of slightly less than average height and weight. His hair is golden blond, his eyes are blue, and his expression haughty.
He wears no armor, wearing simple dark brown robes.  He carries a light crossbow and the associated bolts.  You can also see a few wands about him and a prominently worn seven-pointed star medallion.

"No really folks, they are right!  If even if 1/10th of what I've heard about the Red Mantis is true, then I can't emphasize enough: We were never here, we will never talk about this to anyone..."  Sparing the time from looting for an accusatory glance towards Tanrov, "...ever!  And none of you have ever heard of "The Red Mantis".  They're just a bardic bogeyman used as foils for the hero after all.
Now if you all are quite finished pointing weapons at each other please help us get out of here by doing something useful.  We can start killing each later after a good meal. Like civilized people.
"  He continues looting.

And cutting out the tounges, so speak with dead won't work.

"I would be willing to avoid starting to kill each other altogether, whether after a meal or not.  I would much prefer if everyone could stop pointing weapons at each other.  We need to get out of here.  Though I do wonder how effectively we'll be able to hide our participation in these events, given the survival of a few witnesses to the fight, whom we are not going to kill to keep quiet.  Including, as Grigori noted, a member of the city's council.", she said, as she walked over to Zer-wedula and, uttering a prayer to Pharasma, heals at least some of his wounds.

Cat snorts as she lowers the spear to heal the waitress. The halfling shows up in the middle of a fight, hides the mist, spouting information that is already known or can't be verified. No wonder Cat doesn't trust her. "Since you refuse to tell us who they are, why should we care?"

Re: 2.2 Magnimar

"My dear halflings," interjects Logalog, " I hate to interrupt, but I feel the need to bring a sense of scale to the conversation. I'm familiar enough with the Mantis to agree with Grigori and the fine gentlemen busy cutting out tongues; everyone in this room needs each other right now. If we don't put our pretty little heads together and act immediately, none of us will be able to so much as draw a bath without worrying about Red Mantis hiding in it. I like my baths. They're relaxing and make me look fantastic. I don't want to jeopardize them.
Fate, in all her beautiful glory, has mixed us together in this...er...cordial of circumstance. All we can do is drink from it like friends and hope the hangover's not too severe. For starters, we need to pitch in with the ghoulish task of tongue removal to keep the old saying, ' Dead men tell no tales,' a factual one. Second, we need to remove the witnesses (not violently, of course!). And for the finale, I recommend burning this bar to the ground, which shouldn't be to hard because we've already got that job halfway done. Oh, yes, almost forgot...getting out of town would also be a good idea. What every creature does afterwards is totally up to them."

Re: 2.2 Magnimar

Jan and Grigori are "chatting" with each other.
I'm waiting for Jan to respond before having Grigori respond further...

Logalog and Talis finish looting the bodies (and cutting tounges/breaking jaws/etc... to prevent Speak with Dead).

Miriam heals Zer who finishes his collection of some fine bottles of mine.  Zer finds some good bottles of wine and carefully puts them away for later.

Tanrov PM[Private to Tanrov: finds 2 dead female bodies and loots the bodies...but can he bring himself to mutilate the bodies?]

Sam stands around confused...or not...

With everyone busy, no one seems to notice through the smoke and dim light a confused Cat go to the dwarf Mantis Assasin and heal her.  The dwarf opens her eyes...

If you want to react to the dwarf waking up, make a dc 10 perception (smoke).

Cat looks at Talis, confused, "Wha... Why?". Back to staring at Sammiya, with a quick glance at Grigori. Everyone in this town are unhelpful idiots. She can wonder about her own group as well. To Sammyiya, "I'll re ask my question slowly, so someone understands and can explain it to me. Who. Are. They? The. Mantis. That. People. Keep. Talking. About."

That said, Sammiya turns her attention back to her dog's wound. She gets the dog to lay down then begins trying to dress the wound.

"Jan, please let him go.", Miriam said, explicitly, deciding that perhaps her 'avoiding starting to kill each other all together' preference hadn't been sufficiently clear.  "I'm not saying I trust him all that much, but if he's willing to work with us, then I don't think we're in a position to turn down reasonable offers of alliance.  Watch him by all means, but I don't believe tearing out his throat will be at all helpful in establishing some sort of working relationship.", she noted.

Re: 2.2 Magnimar

When Jan does not let go and instead tries to "grab" him (let's be honest, that IS what Jan is doing), Grigori will deftly slip out of Jans grip and smoothly step away from the wolf "monster".   While this little confrontation is going on, Cat heals the dwarf who wakes up.  Only Talis seems to care, but he is just too far away.  As Talis heads toward Cat and the dwarf drawing out his sap, Grigori's attention swings from Jan to Talis to Cat and he looks at her shocked, "What?  Mantis ASSASSIN wasn't enough of a clue for you."

Through the smoke and haze the dwarf glances quickly left and right, taking in the fact that none of the Mantis are standing, but all the targets are.  Showing no expression she says "Death will come..." and closes her eyes..and dies (magical suicide enchantments).  Her blood explosively sprays from her wounds, showering Cat and Murphis with it.  At the same time, all the eternal candles and torches in the place start getting brighter and become hot, and they keep getting hotter VERY quickly.  It reminds anyone with spellcraft of a Heat Metal spell.

Grigori starts running up the stairs toward Talis and says "Boat, out back back."  While he is armed, he has yet to draw his weapon out.
[Private to Talis: With a look of disgust on his face.]

Situation Summary
- You have 3 unconscious injured people on the floor near the front door.
- The front door opens toward the city where there are lots of people witnesses.
- The Back door opens toward the ocean and docks.
- Grigori is running upstairs, not toward either door.
- The place is getting hotter and will do damage next round.

If you want to do something to Grigori, you have to beat a 10 initiative. Miriam and Jan are right next to him and he will pass by Logalog and Talis, everyone else will have to move.  Otherwise, what do you do?  We are in "combat", so we are going round by round.

Grigori says something back to Talis...

Miriam puts the hood on her cloak back up, watching Grigori as he goes by, to make sure he doesn't try to attack anyone, but otherwise not hindering him.  Once he's moved away, she agrees with Cat, "They do.  We can't go out the front, too many people, so I guess we'll have to try the back.  Anyone not doing anything else, help get the three injured out the back way.", Miriam said, moving to start dragging one of the sailors out in that direction.

Jan growls as Grigori runs off. The Alchemist cannot bring himself to care for him as he rushed off with such speed that there was no chance for him to attack the man. He gives Mariam a half-lidded stare and shakes his head towards Catessa.

"Hyu religious types are too nize...Feh, this iz gon to be a bodder."
Jan barks as he walks off towards the downed Man. He looked important. Jan picks the Man up and walks out the back way with him.

"We are takink teh boat right?" Jan asks, seemingly unworried. If anything he seemed bored at the moment. A thought strikes him and he gives out a low whine.

"Hyu owe me at leasht five hundred gold now, Catessa." Jan gripes without explanation as if he was not in the middle of trying to flee a assassin base.

OOC: Right, Jan is taking the City Council guy. Also Jan is still riding a endorphin and sedative high/buzz.
