Re: Pyros

Talis, seeing the goblins about to push a burning cart into the center of town, ignores the goblins looting the smithy, and runs down the street towards the burning wagon. Not certain how he could fight half a dozen goblins, he moves 60 feet towards them, and shouts in their direction to try and get the goblins attention.

Re: Pyros

Round 1
Talis distracts goblins {3-6} by running at them and yelling.

Catessa & Garious is like a little knight on a charger.  She charges goblin 1 and hits squarely with her spear, 7 dam.  Garious barely misses with a vicious bite.

Naomi Scrambles off Garth and fires, but misses in her zeal.

Glum missed by a mile.

Goblin2 Drops his load of weapons, grabs his dogslicer and attacks Garious hissing "Nasty biter", giving him a nasty slash for 5 dam.  This seems to make Garious angry.  It seems like dogs really don't like goblins and the feeling's mutual.

Goblin3-6 stop pushing the cart and grab a burning piece off it(torchs) jabbering "longshanks", "slice 'em" and "burn 'em all". 3 & 4 move toward Talis, swinging their torchs.  5 & 6 seem to have trouble pulling the torches off and don't make it very far.

singer she jumps up and down for a moment in frustration and then shoots an arrow at Garth and hits for 3 dam.

Garth moves forward and pulls a bastard sword from the pile of weapons
[Private to Garth Oakenshield: Takes the full round]

Cat urges Garious to shift over to make room for others to surround and overwhelm the second goblin.  Cat tries to thrust her spear into the goblin, but fails to even hit the goblin.  Garious too attempts to bit the goblin, but its not his best attempt.  She tells the others "Quick, overwhelm this goblin so we can deal with the others."

Re: Pyros

Talis was in at least a bit of luck, with the goblins coming slowly. Still, it might not be slow enough. He needed the others to finsih up with the smith before he got himself killed. Not wanting to really risk a two on one fight, or more if it lasted that long, he focused on deflecting their attacks, while making a few halfhearted cuts to keep them from getting too aggressive.

Round 1
Zer-wedula Casts sleep, and goblins 5 & 6 fall down in their tracks, untouched by mortal hands.
<Good one on the "rolling wagon of flaming doom", LOL>
[Private to Zer-wedula: Please include the dc of the spell you are casting, thanks.]

Round 2
Talis swings his greatsword wildly (missing), trying to keep the goblins away from him with a circle of steel instead of trying to land a solid blow.

Catessa & Garious Garious is barely controllable with his extreme dislike of goblins causing both of them(Catessa & Garious) to miss.

Naomi figuring Talis needs some help, fires, and connects, for 4 dam on goblin4.
[Private to Zer-wedula: Please specify which goblin you are attacking, thanks. Also, when firing into melee, don't forget to take -4 to hit to avoid allies, otherwise there is a good chance you will hit them.]

Glum missed by only 1/2 a mile this time.  :)

Goblin2 being a coward at heart, 3 to 1 odds are too much, so he moves back into the gloom of the shop/forge and disappears from sight and sound.

Goblin3 is swinging his torch so quickly that all he accomplishes is to put it out.  Otherwise, the flashing steel in front of Talis is enough to keep him at bay for now, misses.

Goblin4 the flashing steel in front of Talis is enough to keep him at bay for now, misses.  It also keeps his attention when he is hit by Naomi.  He glances around but quickly focuses back on Talis.

singer moves to get a better shot and shoots at the strange gnome firing energy that makes her hair stand on end.  It hits her armor and deflects off, doing no dam.  Now that she isn't behind a burning cart, those looking can see a goblin female wearing studded leather and armed with a shortbow, dogslicer and whip.

Garth follows goblin2 into the shop and almost doesn't see him, but the goblin was trying to hide in front of the glowing embers of the forge.  However, Garths swing misses.   This still invokes a scream from the goblin "stupid too big longshanks".

Tactical situation
goblin2 is in melee Garth inside a smithy, crowded with tools, weapons and stuff
Catessa & Garious, Glum, Naomi and Zer-wedula are outside the smithy
goblins3 & 4 are in melee with Talis
goblins5 & 6 are taking naps

Talis changed stance, with a blast of energy helping turn the tide of his fight. now noticing the singing goblin as herhaps the second biggest threat, after the burning cart, he wanted to end this fast, rather then just distract them. He didn't dare risk a glance over his shoulder, but that the others hadn't made it up this far yet, meant the goblins he passed were still standing.

Re: Pyros

Round 2
Zer-wedula spies in the evening gloom of the smithy, a pair of crossbows hanging on the left wall.  As he approaches them, his fathers vision allows him to pick out details.  1 is a fancy looking repeating crossbow, which appears to be under lock and key.  Below it is a normal light crossbow.  Nearby are some bolts, loose.

Round 3
Talis swings his greatsword and misses.

Catessa & Garious charges goblin3 and spears it for 4 dam, but Garius misses.

Naomi shoots and hits goblin4 again for 7 dam, he goes down with a serious wound to his side.

Glum moves toward the goblin singing as fast as he can.

Goblin2 decides 1 to 1 odds are much better, though if he were smart he would count Garth with a bastard sword twice.   Oh wait, he's a goblin and smart is not a word typically applied to them.  But vicious is, and he seems to able to fight much better in crowded quarters than the big man.  Slashing with his dogslicer for 5 dam, ouch.  "Warchief Ripnugget reward me good for your hands"
<You're just lucky I didn't confirm that 19...>

Goblin3 catches Talis way over extended and connects with a vicious hit (which Talis walks right into), for 7 dam.
<...unfortunately for Talis, I did confirm this 20, ouch>

singer fixes her eyes on the dwarf that seems intent on heading her way, but the arrow whips by him, missing by a hair.

Garth just can't get a bead on this slippery fellow and misses.

Tactical situation
goblin2 is in melee with Garth inside the crowded smithy
Glum and Naomi are not currently in melee
goblins3 is in melee with Catessa & Garious

Naomi has difficulty aiming at the goblin as Cat and her dog maneuver for position, so her blast goes high, miss.
[Private to Naomi Armastance: Please, state which goblin you are aiming at and take into account the -4 for shooting into melee]

Glum charges the singer and with a mighty shout...misses.  He does have her full attention now.

Goblin2 swings at the big man, who deflects the blow with his sword, miss.

Goblin3 finds himself with a foe on either side, so he attacks the dog snarling with hate and rage.  Perhaps too much hate, he misses wildly.

singer takes a 5'step back, pulls out her whip and trys to wrap it around his legs.  She hits the leg, but when she trys to pull, Glums larger size and dwarven stability is like pulling on a post.  Glum stomps on the whip, pulling it out of her hand. She looks surprised, <in goblin>"But the plan...we can't fail...".
<trip attack, she hit,  but failed her opposed roll, glum succeeded on his retaliatory trip attempt and she releases the whip>

Garth has the goblin off balance with his deflection and swings a mighty blow before he can recover.  It takes off an ear and hits deep into the shoulder at the neck.  The goblin goes down bleeding like a sieve, 12 dam.  You didn't know goblins had that much blood in them.  So Garth heads to the door.
