Re: 6th OOC

FYI, this week is going to be a bear. I'll likely be able to contribute in the next few days, just not sure when. NPC me as needed.

I think Neftas is about to go and have a romantic encounter with the witch!

"Romantic" might be generous, but maybe she changes her tune once someone actually says yes?

Where would you like to go now? Or are you going to talk some more?

Posted. Declarative sentences matter in storytelling, yes? :-)

Re: 6th OOC

I'm a little confused - I thought that we already checked out the strip of cloth, and it led us to the skull sacks?

Re: 6th OOC

South of the tomb is the shallow pool in which the bundles were discovered. It abuts the stone disc which blocks the front entrance.

On the eastern side of the tomb lies the cleft, admittedly narrow, by which you can enter the tomb.

Re: 6th OOC

Wait--there has been an open entrance into the tomb the whole time?

Why are we mucking about with the pool, then?

Re: 6th OOC

Yes, perhaps the confusion lies in those subtle distinction between words such as crevice, fissure, and cleft -- if there is one. Can one enter the human skull through the cleft of a chin?

Re: 6th OOC

The collapsed part of the floor is what ...

It allowed for the formation of the cleft ...

The floor of this part of the tomb would be above the elevation of the surrounding ...

The collapsed part of the floor is accessed via the cleft. If you look through the that part of the floor, you'll see outside of the tomb.

That last one. I think that explains it.

Re: 6th OOC

Nope, still not following. There is no ledge or the like around the length of the room, then--that's what you're saying?

Re: 6th OOC

OK, so you can see the stream on the outside of the tomb. The floor has partially fallen away on that edge, granting access to the stream via a cleft. The ceiling has also partially collapsed--the debris from this collapse should be illustrated as a pile in the center of the room, but it is not (a mistake on the artist's part).

There is not so much rubble that you can't walk where you please; it is, as I said, concentrated in the middle.

Re: 6th OOC

If I'm not mistaken, you lack a light source for your tomb exploration.

As a general rule, and I should have stated this long ago, I won't solicit skill checks. If there is something you want to check for, go ahead and make a roll. A couple of posts were a little too general for me to suss out if there was something you specifically wanted to check for.

Which room are we in now? The chamber (1)?

Re: 6th OOC

You're not in a room but a corridor. I numbered the visible places to go.

I'm confused now. I thought we were going into chamber 1, not searching the corridor.

Re: 6th OOC

"the party travels the twenty-five feet of the western passage, away from the partially rubble-filled chamber and into a ten-feet-wide north/south corridor."

And your places to go from this corridor are as follows:

To the north the passage opens up into a chamber (1). This is also true for the south (4) but further down. Along the way south to that chamber, there appears to be stairs on the western side (2) heading down and then, a little further, stairs on the eastern side also heading down (3).

Happy Thanksgiving, all.
