In case it wasn't clear, you're under no threat whatsoever in the chamber of the desiccated duero at present.

Re: 6th OOC

Hey everyone. Name is Nick, nice to meet you. I am the new guy, and will be joining you soon.
I am almost 31, been gaming for more than half my life. When I ain't dungeon crawling or lifting I work as a software engineer.
Greetings from Greece.

Re: 6th OOC

Can't say that we've done introductions in this game or, if we have, I've long forgotten them.

I've been playing D&D and its variants since 1980 or so with some gaps here and there. I've done some technical editing/writing, plenty of English teaching, and some social work, which is what I do currently, with an emphasis on substance use and other chronic conditions. I live near Boston and lift modest weights.

Re: 6th OOC

Hi. I do UX design and little lifting. I also started D&D back in the early 80s but I drifted to computer RPGs once I got a C64. After many years, I returned to tabletop (well, remote TT, anyway).
When I stumbled across DCC it looked like  fun offshoot of OSR.

I'm Pete from Detroit; been gaming since acquiring the Moldvay Red Box for Christmas 1980. 41 years and 75+ game systems later, still dabbling. :-) In my day job, I'm a senior data architect, start-up dabbler and busy dad.

Re: 6th OOC

With the new player(s), I need an update marching order before I can update the game.

Currently, we have:

Golo     -- Oren
Betrugar -- Tom
Zaichus  -- Roland

Where does Krovas fit in there?

Re: 6th OOC

Hey guys. Sorry for not posting lately. Some serious health issues have popped up in my family. I need to take care of them. I do not think I will have much if any time for gaming. Sorry for letting you down and thanks for letting me join.

Zaichus and Roland are at the front or the back? That's not clear.

Re: 6th OOC

Yeah, that's completely wrong for Roland. Roland should be toward the front. He's basically a melee guy and should be further up.

Who wants to be in back instead of Roland?

Also, everyone remember: you can improve rolls by spending Luck!

Re: 6th OOC

In reply to Krovas (msg # 616):

Another reminder: as a thief, you choose how many points of luck you wish to spend and then roll your luck die (a d4) that number of times. I don't think you want to roll 5d4 in this case. Thieves regain luck at a rate of 1 per day of rest.

Further, luck can be bummed off of halflings aka luck batteries in DCC. It's good to have a little fellow around until you have drained him of all of his luck in which case you get a replacement.

Since Oren hasn't had a chance to log in, I'm going to wait until he does (or until Monday).

I swapped Oren and Roland's places in the marching order, now posted in the Esoterica thread.

Re: 6th OOC

That's a good point: does anyone need 2-4 points of luck to bump their roll? Aside from the thief, who can aid himself, as duly pointed out.

Re: 6th OOC

Does it depend on how big a risk you want to take? Like if I risk 3 luck points, I'll likely make 5 (but my likelihood of rolling three 1s shouldn't be ignored!)

OK. Here goes...
