Trying to kick these things away would be futile but who wouldn't attempt it?

See. That's just me. I said "futile" to be clear you shouldn't waste your actions trying to kick the critters. But then I said, who wouldn't try? to acknowledge it would be a reasonable thing to try.

Reasonable yet futile. Sigh.

And when I originally wrote that, I thought I of adding an example about the utility of trying to kick away a ravenous saltwater croc. As in no utility. Feet are not a deterrent for a crock but an incentive. So I've heard.

Re: 6th OOC

Darnius kills alpha (with his chain not his confiscated dagger). They have 3 hps each.

Re: 6th OOC

I don’t mind running a fourth zero.  The more nitwits the merrier, I always say.  Shall I go ahead and roll him?

Does Fouillis need to roll on the fumble table, since he rolled a 1 while trying to break free?

Re: 6th OOC

I just realized I made a mistake.  When I rolled damage for Aine's attack, I forgot he gets a minus 2 penalty to his melee damage rolls for Path of the Bear.  (I've updated my post.)

Also, my new character, Claude the Clod, is ready.  Is he currently chained, and should I roll an escape attempt for this round?

Re: 6th OOC

Sure I can add another. Do I have to roll for the character or is it already premade/rolled up?

Re: 6th OOC

House Rule: Minimum Damage = 1. That goes for untrained unarmed attacks such as Kat's kick or Aine's chain. I applied 1 point to Beta to account for Kat's kick.

The Four Strangers: Roll one up, if you would.

Both of the new characters have already wriggled free (as two of David's had done).

Does Claude get an attack for this round, or should I wait for the next one before rolling it?

He freed himself in round 1 and can attack in this round, #2.

I don't think I'll ever be updating the game on Thursdays b/c I have work -> gym -> board games. That'll be the only day like that so I'll update Fri evening.

Ok rolled up Gnorii, a piss poor character with a Strength of 04!

Well, at least we know who to send ahead to test the hallways for traps...

My new guy’s stats are horrible too.  Four stamina, and two fives in other stats.

Oh well!  Time to let Darwin do his thing.

And which one would this one be?

Sorry about the omission of that ladder in earlier posts. It leads to the deck above.

Quite a few of them, but Friday the 13th part 4 comes to mind.  Although I suppose you could classify young
Tommy as a brain, if you want to get technical.

Oh, by this, I meant Creep, Skrag, Creep! It was a teasing clue, and I should probably avoid those.

Oh, but, yeah, so many of them, it's a slasher movie trope. That's why it's kind of a surprise that in Starship Troopers (yes, another genre, but still kind of a slasher movie), the brain *does* survive.

Re: 6th OOC

Ok regarding spending luck, I've indicated my PCs will burn their luck to make the save, but since that's a LOT of luck being burn, is there any way to know if failing the save won't result in immediate death, and so that way they avoid wasting burning their luck?

Re: 6th OOC

There has been some evidence from which to form deductions.

For example, since when does caffeine provide immunity to a death save?

I feel like it (or at least a cup of double teabag tea) provides me just such an immunity every morning at work. ;)

Re: 6th OOC

Quad, I used Claude's fort save as his reflex save. He was one of the three to open the hatch.

The Four, since it wasn't *obvious* that it wasn't a death trap, your two chars burned luck to make their saves.

Yes, I know, I made two separate posts. I just can't be bothered to do the separate thread and group--although it would have been fun for others to discover Zoe's broken body in their own time.

Quad, I really just don't know what to do with that. Sleepers in coma can only be nourished via feeding tubes and IVs. Fort save? And if you ground the beans into paste, wouldn't you have depleted them of their caffeine? Fort save for Aine due to caffeine poisoning? I guess I have wide jurisdiction in such matters.

Welcome to Coily, our 5th player. I play games with him on Thursday nights. He's new to this system but not rpgs. So now I know three of your faces, Q and the 4 S excluded.

Wouldn’t there still be a considerable dose of caffeine in the partially chewed coffee beans, and wouldn’t some of it be absorbed by the tissues in their mouths?  I would think so.  I know that some people deliberately administer caffeine doses by swishing with coffee, but not swallowing.

But it’s your ruling, of course.

Subcutaneous absorption of caffeine.

I'm starting to think we move in different circles. But then again since my circle includes people in and out of recovery, maybe not.
