Re: OOC

I've been back in the hospital for a while now.  I'll work on getting equipment.  Any chance on computers or electronic lockpicking or other things like that?

Re: OOC

I was going to ask the same thing..Are we limited to the things in the equipment list? (I was eyeballing some of the stuff in my 'Gurps Espionage' book)

Re: OOC

basically, if you give me the GURPS stats, I'll generally approve it unless there's some reason it may unbalance the game, be inappropriate, or perhaps too complicated.  (Bombs, for example, are something I've been hesitant about, but melee weapons are generally okay, as well as any non-device equipment I can think of.  But things like nightvision goggles and the like I'd probably approve.  They must be according to today's technology though.)

Hope you get out of the hospital soon.  We can probably go ahead and start while we wait.

Re: OOC

As noted, I will be out of town until next Tuesday.  I wanted to at least get the opening posted though, which you can respond to.  Please don't discuss what your characters experience outside of your personal threads.  I will be relaying what everyone is saying to everyone else.  There are some portions of this part of the adventure that are individualized, and so I have separated everyone into individual groups for the integrity of the experience.

Re: OOC

STill looking for a post from DRacos and Shadow.  This portion is best if we get consistent posting.  If not, I will have to do some NPC'ing.  Hopefully, everyone can post once every 24-48 hours, and this will go quickly and enjoyably.

Re: OOC

Everyone, I added a new thread about important NPC's and groups.  Please read through this.  I compiled the information you have received so far.

(If I left anything out, please let me know.  I just did a quick copy and paste job especially for those who are newer to the game...and because things can progress slowly over real time.)

As you will see, this information may become important to you in your character's next post...

Re: OOC

In addition to the obvious moral dilemma, in making a decision now, you also understand the following:

The agent is probably the most powerful
The Awakened is probably the next most powerful
The Merovingian is probably the next most powerful
Followed by the Shadow Dawn representative...
...

and lastly, X is probably the least powerful.

Re: OOC

Just a question before I make my final decision:
-Are our choices now meant to correspond to pills we took earlier?

Re: OOC

No.

The pills affect:  1) the difficulty of the tasks, and 2) the benefit you will receive at the end.

For example, the easy pill might give you a -1 to your rolls, the medium makes no change, and the hard one makes it a +1.  So seeing through the illusion on the first room was based on the pill, for example, with a modifier of 3.

Sorry, you still post in your individual threads.  I've been really busy this last week, which has caused a delay.

Sorry if there was any confusion.  Codec has rejoined the game, so I had to get him caught up, but I've also been really busy.  Those two complications may have  been confusing, but everything's back on track now.

Re: OOC

I admit surprise that no one has actually chosen Zion.  :)

If you want to post something your character says so that everyone can hear, as opposed to something you do, which may be perceived differently, you may do so in this thread (just make sure to also post it in your private thread).  That may speed up interaction a bit.

But remember that you only have 5 seconds...

Re: OOC

zion's an option?  I kept seeing 5 doors and the agent, awakened, maro-mero the vingin guy, and the shadow group.

Duh, my reading comprehension must suck cause I read it twice.  Let me go find that fifth door again and see...

Screed still stand by his choice.

Do people get a do over if they missed that?

Yes, anyone can do over if they want.  I'm also not sure if Cistron meant the Merotechs or the Shadow Regime.  (Given that the Merotechs are AI's, the "prison" is the only existence they can have, whereas the Shadow Regime are humans choosing to become powerful within the Matrix itself.)

Nope I meant Merotechs...Merotechs pride themselves in bending/breaking existential laws. Cistron is curious as to why they hadn't expanded themselves beyond the construct we know as 'the Matrix.' (If it was possible for the machines to create the Matrix in the first place, then it is necessarily and certainly possible for them.) -Why are they satisfied to be parasites infesting a world they don't control?
