I do!  I stopped visiting once they purged the last of the WFRP 2nd edition stuff.

It died the other day for me, but it's been stable as a rock otherwise for the last year, for me at least.

Re: Happy New Years

It breaks all the time for me. Regularly takes several minutes just to load one page. Earlier today it took almost 20 minutes per page. This is unique to the FFG site. It doesn't matter where I am or what computer I'm using or even what browser I'm using. PMs are also hopelessly broken. The reply button disappears if the post is too long and in the same instance much a post will be cut off if its too long. Over all the worst website design I've ever seen.

Re: Happy New Years

I to have trouble with the website as it keeps loading and loading all sorts of images that make it hard to move to the part that I want to visit. I cheat nowadays with shortcuts to those parts that I am interested in. The forums seem to work alright though.

Re: Happy New Years

Ugh. The forums. Besides the normal problems the plague the website, there are several others unique to the forums. Some threads are broken, large parts of entire posts can't be seen. This is rare, thankfully. Even worse is the backspace bug. Sometimes, often enough to be extremely annoying, trying to delete part of a post you are writing with backspace will delete huge chunks of the post. Usually happens when you only want to remove a period or a typo. What you end up losing can be as much as a paragraph.

Just got my pdf copy of only war. While I am not a big fan of the system, I like the creation process for armies and intend to use them for my RT game for my more militant minded players.

Who here have the Tome of Blood? I have begun creating a set of house-rules which allow the Legacy Weapon rules to be used in the other WH40K rpgs and was wondering if someone would be interested in helping me out.

You don't like the system? I find it a big improvement over the DH system and wish they use this one for the development of DH 2.0 if that ever comes.

It gives the player more freedom in character development, it is more balanced (for example OW Psykers are much less overpowered then their DH equivalent) as well and quite a few mistakes from the earlier system has been seen to.

Re: Happy New Years

I agree entirely with Gwenlynn.  I think they've used their experience in system development very well.

As a minor note, I'm putting together an XCOM game based on the 40k RPG system.  Would anyone present care to chime in as we develop mechanics?

Re: When it Rains it pours

Is the "Dark Reign" gone, some say they haven't seen it in months, now I can't remember when I was on it last, but alas I can not access one of the greatest fansite for Dark Heresy and more. Very sad if true, FFG forums are no help anyone else know of the fate of the Reign.

The forums are still up, but the main site got completely screwed by someone who attacked the server it was on, and the current admin has no real programming experience to fix the issue, last I heard.

I was one of the founders of Dark Reign, but I've not been on it in years, ever since the forums got quite so clique-y and rubbish, frankly.

In reply to MILLANDSON (msg # 845):

Never spent much time on the forums, but the play aids and downloads were always fun.  Have to say you did a fine job on the site Millandson, nice to know someone with that much Warhammer XP is prowling our modest forum;)

Re: When it Rains it pours

Well, being an admin there was one of the reasons why I ended up getting a gig as being a playtest lead, which was pretty cool of FFG really.

Re: When it Rains it pours

I'm thinking of starting up another game, either Dark Heresy at a high level or Black Crusade of some sort. All I know is that it's going to utilize Black Crusade rules. If there is enough interest in one or the other I will run that.

I like Black Crusade, but it's hilariously cursed as a gameline to have tragedy befall any GM who dares run it.

I've been in two or three games, all died before the first mission got off the ground due to the GM vanishing off the internet.

Re: When it Rains it pours

Cursed, naah the only game I think could be cursed and it may be my experience after five plus years, is Shadowrun.  Want to see a curse, post a IC about running the game, you will get 50 replies in two days and never get past Mr. Johnson.  No serious all games have that happen, it is the internet for Emperor's sake, flaking is part of the wiring I believe.  But out of all systems that could be cursed The Senior Cardinal Ignato votes for Shadowrun.  Although I must agree I have seen many Crusade games never materialize, although I am attributing that to running "baddie" games, baddie games have the inherent problem of being evil.  Evil games beget Evil GMs and Evil Players is the only thing I have seen as "truthy", that was 90 percent tongue in cheek by the way but ten percent of me might want to burn my copy of Crusade as it calls for me to do evil things ha ha ha ha.  Another fun part of the internet, any idiot (myself) can say anything (evil) and stupid, it is the right of Democracy our greatest right, to be as stupid as we wish!  Alright, I found my prozac, see you later.
