Re: Forum Chat

Hi all!  It's your friendly neighbourhood gm and player.  I'm running- Burn all Hertics and Warhammer RP.  I playing in- Dark Herresy for Dummies, Into the Darkness <currently on hold>, and WFRP: Welmarcht court.  I'm currently awaiting two games to start- WFRP 2: Princes, Dragons and Thieves and (Dark Heresy) Thru a Darkened Mirror.  Yes I have too much free time and my gaming group (well two people) are four hours away so we only get to meet every month-month and a half.

Re: Forum Chat

Well, I just wanted to say a quick "hello" to everyone and give a "thank you" to Furry Teddy for coming up with a Forum where GW-addicts can get a fix.

A little about myself: I have been involved with Games Workshop products ever since I stumbled across a dusty box of Blood Bowl about 15 years ago. Unfortunately, or perhaps luckily, my parents were going through a religious kick and banned the game from my house.

Well, being a teenager and fully confident in my own competency, I set out finding as much about Blood Bowl as I could. Which led me to discovering the worlds of Rogue Trader and Space Marines and Scaven and Waaaggghh!

Through the persistance that only a knucklehead can muster, I managed to get my grimy mits on my first army...Fantasy Orks! I religated my younger brother to play as the High Elves and proceeded to smash him up and down our linoleum floor.

Anyway, since hearing the cries of my brother as my giant, cardboard cutout of a goblin shaman mounted on a wyvern descended to rend his ill-armoured archers limb from limb, I have been addicted.

I followed Games Workshop all through its various incarnations, and took every winding path as it signed off some of its products to other developers.

I currently own most of the books for either system, so I look forward to gaming with most of you in the near future.

Re: Forum Chat

I too like Mr. Sticks found myself in the early 90's to the world of Games Workshop through Blood Bowl, (I'm so glad they re-re-re-released it, and this is totally of the subject but has anyone seen the trailer for the Blood Bowl video game).  Back to serious matters, I think Dark Heresy is in much better shape than WFRP.  I think it could be a cool idea to do something similar to what the lads at the Star Wars groups did and group GM's by time frames, but only with WFRP give each GM a territory in the Old World and let the characters move freely about.  It would take a lot of work, but if we had a 2:1 or 3:1 or at least a 1:1 GM to player ratio it wouldn't be that difficult at all. Well maybe not, it would be a pain in the ass, but if it worked it would be EPIC.
