"I am not old enough to speak allowed, and for now if i am linked to my companion I can only speak to them, so far it seems that I am linked to you for some reason." She lowers her head in a sarrwoing manner and gives a huff which sounded sad as well. "I don't understand."

The armored knight merely shakes his head.  truth being known, he's a bit out of his depth here...

I can't even summon this Jensa he mutters to himself, Having never met her, not having a connection to her spirit that i can tug at to pull her across the blind eternities...

Re: The Dark Forest

Finally unable to take it, Petra turned to the group. "Does anyone know what's going on? Because I don't." She uncrossed her arms and placed her hands on her hips in annoyance. Honestly, if it wasn't people shooting at her, it was dragons dropping out of the sky.

With her anger she felt the rising of her tiger side, and she had to close her eyes and count to ten in order to calm down. Shifting into a tiger in front of a dragon would probably not be the best course of action, and would likely her her attacked. Or with her luck, shot at by one of the bystanders.

Jon shrugged.  "All I know is that we're dealing with an unhappy dragon, but not an aggressive one.  That and what you've said.  All the dragons I've dealt with have either been in combat, either alongside or against me, or using a mortal disguise to make things simpler."

Likewise, except usually no mortal disguises Gawain shrugs his armored shoulders, clearly at a loss to explain the Dragon's behavior.

Shara nervously chuckles a little, still slightly unstable from the medication, and reaches out to grab Petra's arm. "Hold... hold on a minute..." She misses, and swears quietly, and ends up following Petra out towards the dragon.

As the conversation works back and forth, Shara stands slightly stunned, head swivelling back and forth between those who speak, as she tries to puzzle everything out.

Eventually, she shrugs, moving forward a bit to answer Petra's question. "This is a wierd forest, remember? We ended up in some desert where we got attacked and then somehow wound up back here. And don't get me started on the others we met, aye?" She shrugs again, once more wincing and putting her good arm up to touch her bandaged shoulder.

Gawain finally notices the felinoid as she speaks up for the first time, noticing particularly that she appears to be wounded.  He moves to her side, where he offers to do what he can for her injuries.

Shara notices the attention being paid to her, and is quick with a smile. "Ah, a healer, are we? I've already had my arm seen to, but being an apocothary myself I know the importance of a second opinion. Name's Shara; my friend there is Petra. And you are?" She keeps glancing to the dragon, who makes her a little nervous, and the other fellow across the other side of the clearing, who - oddly enough - didn't.

She raised her head and looked at Petra. "Will you want to be my companion....at least until i can find my real one? since you <i>arethe only one who can hear me."</i> She looks up to Sarah with a chuckling growl, this woman seemed very amusing to her.

After a brief examination of the vaguely Leonin woman, Gawain calls upon the Mana of the Eiganjo plains of Kamigawa, channeling it into Shara's injuries, causing them to spontaneously heal, and also driving any other residual impurities from her body.

Knowing now that the Dragon was no threat at the moment, and that it seemed to be more interested in the one woman than anything else, he approached the knight and the woman he was attending to.  "I suppose that puts my suspicions to rest.  The crest you wear is mildly reminiscent of the emblem of one of the nations from my own homeland, but I had a feeling you weren't a man of Stromgarde.  Jonathan Harmarth, of Stormwind, former SI:7."  He offered, extending his own hand.

Shara gives a small noise of surprise, and blinks a couple of times. "Ah, magic. How I've missed you." She shakes her head, eyes clearing from the effects of the painkillers, and she gives another wider smile to the knight in front of her. <DrkGreen>"My unending thanks, Sir Gawain McNeil. Now, at the risk of dsturbing... this,"</DarkGreen> she gestures vaguely to the dragon and Petra, "Mind sharing how you found yourself here, meeting with us?"

Her eyes lock once again on the other fellow, and she moves a little closer to the knight.

Re: The Dark Forest

"I wouldn't mind being your companion for the time being, Selesia. You may call me Petra." She says, walking towards Selesia a bit. "I don't think you'd fit in the tavern, so you and I can stay in the forest together. I don't like sleeping in closed spaces anyhow." She adds, thoughtfully.

She then turns back to the group, and looks at Jonathan, considerately. "Would it be safe to assume that you aren't a werewolf, but some other sort of shifter?" She asks, bluntly. She wanted to know for sure, because if he was just a run-of-the-mil werewolf she would want to get as far from him as possible. And he already seemed to make Shara uneasy. Maybe Shara had never seen a shape-shifter before?

Re: The Dark Forest

Turning back to the girl who'd been conversing with the Dragon (a conversation he assumed was taking place at least partly silently, or through some sort of magic), he shook his head.  "It's not the first time I've heard the term today, but no.  Where I come from, I'm called a Worgen, though from what I've heard the concept is essentially the same."

Something about her scent confused him, but he didn't want to ask about it, it just seemed rude.  Unless she had a sense of smell comparable to his, she'd have no idea what he meant, anyway.

"So my nose wasn't lying to me, you really aren't a werewolf? That's a relief, then." She sighs.

"It's nice to meet you, my name is Petra. You are?" She glances back at Selesia once or twice, still not fully trusting the dragon at her back.

Re: The Dark Forest

I don't generally share this out with new people, but since I'm fairly certain that those gathered here are familiar with the concept of worlds beyond their own, I'm a planeswalker.  I kinda stumbled across this particular plane of existence by accident, on my way to visit a friend on Dominaria.  And it's Mc<i>Liam<i> he says in response to the question by the young lady with the faintly feline features.

he extends a hand to shake with the wolf-man, saying I've never been to Stromgarde, I'm afraid.  What manner of place is it, that you should fear it's people so?

Re: The Dark Forest

Jonathan took the handshake politely before turning his gaze to answer Petra.  "Jonathan Harmarth, former Stormwind Intelligence.  Your nose?"  Well, now that she'd confirmed that she had a sense of smell similar to his own...  "Well, as long as it's been brought up, I've been curious since I noticed... you don't smell like any kind of wolf I'm familiar with, but the scent isn't entirely human, either.  Are you a... shifter, as you put it, as well?"

Jonathan shook his head in response to Gawain's question.  "I don't fear them, it's that they're... well, sort of all over the place; Stromgarde itself is, for the most part, a memory.  The emblem is similar, but different enough that I had my doubts.  Stromgarde and Stormwind were both part of an Alliance of a number of different nations a few decades ago, but that's a long, different story.  In recent years, the nation has essentially crumbled.  Stromgarde city is divided between the soldiers who still hold a portion of the city, a brutal band of ogres, and a criminal group called the Syndicate."

Petra smiles, "I am not a wolf, no. I'm a tiger, actually. I suppose it might be an unfamiliar scent to you?" She says to Jonathan.

"To be perfectly honest I'm glad you aren't a werewolf, tigers and wolves in my world don't get along very well." She adds, and then glances over to Shara. Petra was still unclear on why Shara had such feline features, but she would ask her another time, presumably if they ever got to speak in private.

Re: The Dark Forest

Jonathan nodded, crossing his arms across his chest.  "That'd explain it, I think, yeah.  I haven't had a chance to visit a part of the world with any tigers since I recovered, so I haven't had a chance to learn their scent.  Don't have much like that on Azeroth, though, there are a few stories about a few individuals who took on massive cat-like forms in battle.  Those were all Trolls working with really powerful magic though, and something to do with their gods or something.  I haven't heard all the details of it.  It's in the past though."

It seemed like almost once a year recently that some new group of trolls was posing some new threat to the Alliance, or the rest of the damned world.  A small part of him wished he could have been in some of those battles, and seen the supposed avatars of the Trolls imbued with their gods' powers for himself, but the rest of him was simply thankful it was done with.

Re: The Dark Forest

I look forward to hearing about it some time Gawain says in response to the thought of a long story, especially if it involves epic battles over sweeping vistas and the like.  such stories, he's found, exist everywhere in the Multiverse, in one form or another, and they're always fun to listen to.  If for no other reason, to learn something about the tactics used by the beings of the plane in question...

Re: The Dark Forest

"Your world sounds...rather dangerous." Petra remarks, finding a tree to lean on. She stays near Selesia, and glances at the dragon now and again. "How exactly are you able to change forms if you aren't something like myself? Do you use magic?" She asks.

Witches in her world could shift into animals, but it required the skin of the animal and a blood sacrifice. It was crude magic that most were-animals saw as  disrespectful to the animal. And Petra didn't much like witches, for that exact reason. She doubted Jonathan was some sort of warlock, he had the scent of a wolf, something a warlock wouldn't have. And he said he wasn't a werewolf, so what could he be. She didn't know what a worgon was, or what being one meant.

Re: The Dark Forest

Shara tilts her head and listens to the talk of shifters and far-off cities with interest. She still, somewhat, holds herself back from the Jonathan Harmarth character, staying at the side of the knight, but doesn't remove herself from the circle of conversation.

If anything, she seems a little more relaxed to know that Jonathan is a shapeshifter... a little more relaxed, and a little more curious. That curiosity extends to Petra as well.

She jumps a bit in excitement and whips her tail again with a curring sound, she tilts her head though when the others began talking then her head rose a bit as to listen to something farther into the distance. "Do you hear that? there's something out there...." She looks to the others without turning her head from the direction the sound came from.

Re: The Dark Forest

Jonathan hesitated for a moment, but answered the question.  "To put it rather bluntly, it's a curse.  I don't know if Worgen like me, who've regained themselves can still spread it or not, but I personally don't risk it.  The ones that are still wild, though, spread the curse through a bite.  Once it takes hold... you become an animal.  A wild, bloodthirsty animal.  There are a few ways to help ones likes that... a certain potion, for example, that was discovered could restore the human mind, though it's not neccesarily permanent.  And it wouldn't give them any control over their form."  He waved a hand to indicate his own form.  "Personally, I don't much like the thought of being stuck like this my whole life."

"However, it has its roots, or so I'm told, in Druidism, with the Night Elves... I don't know the details, but there's a sort of ceremony they can prepare for someone, to regain balance, as they put it.  To regain control over your mind and body."  Jonathan closed his eyes, and took a few deep breaths to calm himself.  After a moment, Jonathan was wreathed in a bright amber glow, and a few seconds later, where the Worgen once stood, was a man with brown hair drawn back in a ponytail, wearing what appeared to be the same outfit the Worgen had been.

Jonathan opened his eyes, and looked around.  "It's not as easy for me as it is for some others, but at least I can do it.  I still do my part from time to time and put down the ones that can't be saved."

Re: The Dark Forest

He notices the nervousness of the (from his perspective, it's the best Descriptor he has in his experience )Leonin and reflexively moves to stand between the cat-woman and the wolf-man.  On reflection, he realizes that her nervousness probably just stems from her being part cat and him being more dog, but you never can be too sure.  Felinoids are, after all, some of the wisest creatures he's personally met, save perhaps some of the Kitsune fox people from Kamigawa, or this one Loxodon he knew from his own home on Ravnica...
