Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

"All of my magic is natural, it seems. And when I sing or preform, it inspires people to do better, or can harm others if I choose. I can also conger the elements, or create things our of nothing." She thinks for a few moments.

"Have you mt anyone from my world, maybe? Ah....someone who knows about talking dragons...Elves, Kobalds, Owlbears, Mindflayers, Nymphs, Knolls, Orcs? Has anyone ever mentioned something like that?"

Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

Jonathan shook his head and shrugged.  "I don't know, I don't think we're from the same home, but where I come from has all those things too.  Unfortunately, in some cases."

"Why don't you think we're from the same place? I haven't discovered all of Mareth, or all of the world for that matter." She replies, looking hopeful. "Have you ever seen a Satyr like me before?"

Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

Jon shook his head again.  "Never heard of Mareth, and I get the feeling you won't have heard of Azeroth, either.  Aside from that, our Satyrs are actually demonic in nature instead of natural."

Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

She's startled. "Demonic? That's odd. I suppose I look a bit like a Teifling, and they're certainly demonic to an extent. But what do you mean by demonic? As in from one of the layers of hell?" She thinks for a few moments, considering it.

Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

"Not exactly.  From what I understand, they're actually Elves that have been twisted and corrupted by demonic magic.  They're all sorts of trouble."

He paused for a moment.  "I will say we don't have Tieflings, though."

Cinder shakes his head, most of these creatures that they mention he has no idea what they are with a few exceptions, things that he has read about in some of the old books or things that he had met here in the Tavern.  "Ave you spoken ta Parker?  Sounds ta me like 'e be from a world like yurs."

"An dat runty little bastard waz ere not too long ago."

Cinder gives a shrug. "The little guy was out on da porch yappin to da mute dragon when I came in a while ago."

He shakes his head and gives a small laugh.  "Ghatina, ya couldn't miss em if ya saw em, well... maybe ya could.  E is only about yeah tall."  He hold his hand up just past his knee.  "But dat runt as juice.  E be a powerful one."

"It's not uncommon to see someone that tall where I', from. Dwarves, Goblins, Halflings Kobalds, they're all relatively short." She replies.

He glances around the porch.  "Parker be a kobold, 'E said sumtin bout bein a dragon born."

"Ah, yes, Kobalds are believed to be descended from dragons. Some people think that they're the result of the offspring of a dragon mating with some other creature, or that they were created by dragons to be servants. No one really knows what's true."

Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

Jonathan boggled at the description.  "Man... makes me sorta feel sorry for the Kobolds where I come from.  Little rat-things that infest old mines and caves, with a strange obsession with the candles they stick on top of their heads.  They're generally seen as nothing more than a minor nuisance."

Cinder again shakes his head and laughs.  "I don't be thinkin ya get it.  Dat little bastard iz a dragon in a small package."  He looks at the wolf man.  "An if ya meet em, I dare ya ta call em a 'minor nuisance.'"

Jonathan nodded.  "Oh, I get what you're saying.  I'm just saying the term Kobold back home didn't get attached to creatures quite that impressive."

"Well, compared to a dragon a Kobald is small, but not a minor nuisance. Tribes of Kobalds have been known to decimate small towns."

It was hard to explain things to people that had a completely different frame of reference on things.  He could smell the magical strength of people and had a good frame of reference to judge people's power.

"Yeah, well ya gotta decide fur yurself ghatina."  He stands up.  "I be goin inside and gettin me some more ta drink.  Ya be welcome ta join me, come on in."

She casts a worried look to her hippogriph. "You should stay close to the inn." She says to the creature as it tilts its head in a listening manner.

"I'll come in with you."

Cinder looks at the hippogrif for a couple of seconds before stepping over to the door and opening it, and stepping aside, holding it open for Breena.  He flashes a winning smile and gives the slightest of bows.  "Afta you."

she cats another look at her hippogriph, and then glances at Jonathan. "You should come in as well." She says, stepping through the door.

She smiles back at Cinder, and thanks him for holding the door for her.

Breena exits the tavern, walking over to the rail near Jon. Her hippogriph moves over to her, leaning its head on the rail.

"Do you want to go back to where you're from?" She asks Jon.

Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

Jonathan looked over and sighed.  "It's not easy back home.  Especially with what's been happening lately.  Mystery cults, and trying to keep them away from the living daughter of a former agent of my worst enemy who may or may not have changed in the slightest outside trying to keep her safe."

He began counting things off on his fingers.  "The aftermath of a psycho dragon trying to destroy the world.  Increasingly largescale battles between Alliance and Horde all over the damn world with that warmonger Hellscream in charge..."  He dropped his hands back down to his sides and leaned back against the rail.  "And yet... it's home.  I do wanna help keep that kid safe, and find these bastard cultists out.  Keep my friends and family safe from the Modas, and the Horde, and more.  This place is surreal escape from all that, but that's exactly what it is.  An escape.  It's an interesting place to visit, but I would never dream of leaving home behind... bleak as things can seem sometimes.  They need me there."

Cinder had been staring off into the distance, lost in his own thoughts.  Only when the conversation between the two starts does he turn around.  "Yeah baube, der be shit appenin all over."

His face is pale and he has a haunted expression on his face as he speaks.
