OOC Couch

Okay, so we always need somewhere to chat out of character, don't we? :P

Anyway, the whole premise of this idea goes back to my origins of online roleplaying. I started in a chat room, where the central location was a tavern. Whatever character you were playing, or wanted to play, you'd just walk in and interact with whoever was online at the time.

Which led to a lot of fairly mundane 'bar conversation' scenes, but it also led to the formation of a lot of different group adventures and stories, and forging some fantastic in-character relationships. It was a lot of fun.

Hopefully, it'll work here, I know we're in a different format being in an online forum, but we'll see how it goes.

For that reason, as well, I'll give GM access to everyone - which means that individual threads can be created for those little adventures that might form; and allows everyone the chance to add to their "Character Closet".

Re: OOC Couch

I guess there's another good point, as we all have GM access, it means we're all going to see RTJs from new entries. Feel free to add someone in if there's an RTJ there and they haven't already been added.

Re: OOC Couch

Just remember, as GM's it also adds the responsibility of moderating the chat. We shouldn't have too much trouble, but when something occurs we need to act quickly and decisively. Be fair, what anyone does effects all who participate. As GMs we are all held responsible for the threads.

Re: OOC Couch

Quite right ole chap! Quite right. We should all remember that the game is not Adult or rated Mature. Therefore we must abide by all guide lines or be brought up before Judge Messalen , better known as a fair-minded but stern magistrate... well let's not kid oneself, he is known as the Hanging Judge Messalen! Re: OOC Couch

With all of us monitoring threads, there shouldn't be too much trouble. I'll try to be good.

I am always good *bats eyes*. Or at least I try to be. *gasp* But you don't know what sorts of punishments Miss Miller can dole out!

Re: OOC Couch

One other thing... I just thought of as I posted. What about the barkeep. Should we all agree to allow ~Jaguar to control him as he started this wonderful game? Cheers Meriwether

Re: OOC Couch

I just assumed there was a bar keep to get my bottle of wine when I wanted it.  I suspect Jaguar will be happy if we keep them as background NPCs.  :)

Re: OOC Couch

I could in theory play a barkeep for the tavern if it so required. The initial thought was mopre along Peter's statement that the barkeep, cook, serving girls (when it's busy) are basically just little NPCs to work into one's own post.

Re: OOC Couch

I just thought the barkeep to be a major Npc. One that may provide info & a listening ear to a fellow traveler that has not made the acquaintance of a fellow player as of yet. The serving ladies, if required, & cook would be more like nameless Npc's. But hey, I am fine either way. He might just be Silent Bob for all I know. Cheers Meriwether

Looked good to me.

BTW, I am away for a few days.  Peter might well stay in  the bathroom until I get back and ready to post sometime next week.

Re: OOC Couch

Thank you, thank you.

Joe's a bounty hunter himself, although I doubt he's ever hunted anything as evil as what Amanda tracks. He and Meriwether are in a couple of different games together.

Joe's not that bright, either, Amanda, just to warn you.

Thank you, Meriwether!

Re: OOC Couch

Haha, sounds good, Joe.

And hey, you never know what your next hunt might be. With three of us gathered in the same place...that sounds like it's asking for a mission...
