Splittin' Off

The door to the northern room won’t budge.  Having experienced too much of all the minor setbacks, Ilsa decides to flex her muscles a bit.  With a mighty kick, she nearly tears the door form its hinges!
The room is long and narrow and is lined with shelves loaded with foodstuffs and supplies (Map pending). Heavy burlap sacks are piled atop one another in the corners of the chamber. A few have been torn open, leaving spills of oats and flour along the floor. Several barrels stand in a cluster near the far northern wall.
As you enter the room something very strange happens.  A white cloud descends from the ceiling and engulfs you.  A moment later you hear the sounds of stones striking other stones all around you—until a small stone strikes you squarely in the chest!

Re: Splittin' Off

Ilsa hissed as she gained her bearings. "Oh, there will be death here," she spit in orcish. She strained her eyes to spy the hidden assailants and charged the first one she found.

Re: Splittin' Off

Ilsa swings wildly, catching nothing but air!  The pelting of small rocks continues from somewhere beyond the white cloud--which the half-orc quickly begins to realize is only flour.  The white powder begins to gather on nearby shelves and barrels, but the air remains a little hazy.  Another rock bounces off Ilsa's shoulder.

Neya growled loudly as she shook her head, trying to clear the white dust out of her eyes and nose. With a snarl she dashed forward through the cloud of dust, hoping to find the little lizard things and start ripping them apart before she was hit by any more of the nasty stones.

Re: Splittin' Off

As the four fog clears, a few more stones smack against Ilsa and Neya.  After the last volley, they can easily see a small band of kobolds hiding behind the barrels on the north end of the room.  As their obscuring cloud dissipates, they shriek as they see the two still standing and ready to fight.  They quickly begin reloading their slings...

Together, Ilsa and Neya rush forward and close the distance between them and the kobolds!

Neya proves the faster and nimbly makes it around the barrels to deliver a devastating chomp to one of the five lizards (attack from msg# 4).

Ilsa swings wide, catching more of the barrels than kobold; but the display successfully unnerves many of them (attack from msg# 2).

Two of them drop their slings and attempt to beat their attackers with tiny clubs (AoO).  The other three jump and scamper away, looking to find another place to hide while continuing to rain down their tiny bullets.

Re: Splittin' Off

"Neya! Chase!" she indicated the ones went into hiding. To the two brave enough to face her, she said. "Stop that! Tell me where your leader is, and I'll let you live." She swung her sword in an arc, level with their heads.
