Re: Round 1 - Shirok v. Stan

I like the format of skills challenges, but healing someone isn't really Stan's idiom. My options are limited.

Oh, your doing fine!  Don't stray from craft (alchemy), knowledge (arcana), or even heal checks.  And be creative!!! :-)

Hooray, failure :P

Edit: I should add that I've really been enjoying your work on the game, Stan's own inadequacies aside.

Re: Round 1 - Shirok v. Stan

That depends on if you take them or not.  Assuming you do, linguistics won't help you.  Also assuming you open them, they are written in abyssal--you know that much.  You will need read magic prepared, or a pair of spellcraft checks, DC 24 and 25 respectively.

By the way, I'm really enjoying the game!

Re: Round 1 - Shirok v. Stan

I believe what's actually required is a caster level check, not a UMD check. Wizards almost never use UMD.

"If she meets all three requirements but her own caster level is lower than the scroll spell's caster level, then she has to make a caster level check (DC = scroll's caster level + 1) to cast the spell successfully"

Re: Round 1 - Shirok v. Stan

So, you don't sign the book?  Do you attempt to activate the scroll?  Or do you intend to have the demon read from them?

In all my scene building, I seem to have forgotten to mention that Chubbs is now unconscious.  You have power of attorney. =/

Re: Round 1 - Shirok v. Stan

Stan hasn't signed anything or tried to cast the spells. On the one hand, I don't want to just let Porto die. On the other, no way will Stan easily make a deal with a fiend.

Do I lose 5 hp and then gain 10, for a net gain of +5 total?

Re: Round 1 - Shirok v. Stan

As usual, I am having lots of fun. Here's a suggestion: when I need to make a save, please post the DC. Then I can write my post accordingly.

Example: Stan gets hit by the balls of fire OR Stan manages to dodge the fireball trap.

Without knowing whether I pass or fail the save, it's hard to write a good post.

Thanks.

Really hope Stan's not toasting his wife alive. I figure between SR, DR, and Fire Resist 10, she should be fine.

I hope.

Re: Round 1 - Shirok v. Stan

Yeah.  I'm looking for a good pathfinder game.  So many games start up and then die, or have a bunch of stupid house rules...  I am also aware that I have a bunch of stupid house rules...
