In reply to Phantasm (msg #51):

Enigmas are great.

BTW, love the addition of Slider to the team. Great description, too. Oh, the drama that can ensue. Will we meet Andrean Corban(sp)? [Private to Rydi: It would be so awesome if Pax is the killer. If that occurs.;)]

Canon Andre doesn't erupt until 2004 if I remember correctly, so maybe.

Re: Robot Rollcall!

Yeah, Corbin is planned.  Though it will be a while before his eruption.  Not sure if I want to do it a bit earlier or not though.  I wouldn't mind moving things a bit faster.  Lot more intensive quantum usage in the EW can justify a higher background quantum energy level, and thus more rapid eruption.  Dunno, still deciding.

School starts tomorrow, so I will be trying to adjust to the new schedule.  I'm going to try and get on a set posting schedule, with me logging in twice a day.  We'll see how it goes.  Just fyi.

Sure you've all noticed I've been rather busy lately, it'll probably stay that way for another week or two, but I'll check in when I can.

It's ok to slow down a bit.  I too am busy.  I get to go to my TA class later tonight and see just how much grading i'm going to have to do.  Yuck.

Grading BAD!

Ah, grading, the bane of teachers everywhere.  A few years back I was teaching two intensive writing classes of about 45 kids each.  It was retarded, something like 16h of marking a week, so glad I'm not doing that any more.

Sorry

Hey everybody, sorry for not posting in hte last couple dys, we moved(yesterday and our new pad is sadly lacking the interweb for another day or so.  My idea for this Little mexican shindig is to just set the stage for us to get together as a group again, without anybody else around and, well, talk.  It may just be me but it seems like we have been defining ourselves as individuals for quite a while now, and less like the group that we were when we started out, which is cool, but part of what we were raving about in the early days was how much group chemistry we had, something we may want to reaquire now that we have some new addtitions to teh team.  If this doesn't appeal to everyone, then by all means lets just drink tequilla until the sun comes up, leave Pax with the tab (zero, you did forge his credit card, yes?) and move on to the awesomeness that Rydi no doubt has in store for us.

Re: Sorry

In reply to Impetus (msg #61):

That sounds like a very good idea.  I just didn't want to progress to a location if you had something planned.  This works... Though I'm a bit dense right now.  Am I missing any references to locations/people in Aberrant continuity here? Or is this just a person Imp knows?

In other news, first week of school was survived, I even managed to keep up my workout schedule, so hopefully I will be back to regular posting quantity/quality (though I haven't actually started the bulk of the real work of course... but whatever, we'll deal with that when it comes around).

Sophia

It hadn't even crossed my mind, but if you want Sophia the restaurateur to be Rousseau then go for it.  I figured that she was just a person that Imp knew, that it was a place he had found that he went to to relax when he had a free day and was in the Americas.

Rousseau is extremely allusive and not very personable, so I somehow doubt it's her.

don't worry about it, the colors and all that other jazz are just for show anyways, when I post drunk (which happens surprisingly often) my spelling and general posting accuracy/relevance go downhill fast.  Speaking of, where did that beer go...

Joy's of having no time...

Sooo.  I'm still around, and still thinking about the game.  I will be continuing to post, though as you can probably already tell, it will be a bit slower on some of the story elements.  Setting and fights should run at about the same rate, and the beautiful thing about you as players is that you will entertain yourselves when I'm not around, but my big plot developments will be slow for a little while.

My current semester includes several presentations, multiple papers requiring substantial research, two submissions to conferences that I'm going to try and make, TA work, and getting things in order to make applications to different grad/doc programs in the coming months (need to switch from general psych to counseling psych this semester, and start padding my vita to apply to doc programs in the spring, thus my need to submit those papers to conference).  I also am trying to maintain my summer exercise schedule and go to the gym at least an hour a day during weekdays.  And I need to keep the wife happy and the living area in some semblance of order.  Last but not least, I need to type up some campaign notes for the bi-weekly DD 3.5 campaign I've been saying I'll run for months now, though once its done I won't have a whole lot of work in that arena (just getting the setting notes in order up front is the real problem; lots of work in one spurt... though it will help a lot later, and save work then).

Anyway, just figured I'd let people know where I was at, and that if I'm not on as much its just 'cause I'm busy, not b/c I forgot about you.

I do have some plot elements I'm wanting to work in now btw.  Currently on the agenda.  Some of what I'm working on follows, just fyi and if anyone wants to take the initiative with any of this stuff:
a. The formation of the Directive
b. The formalization of the Terat philosophy, intro of Mal, and the Chrysalis (I'm especially eager to get to the chrysalis... I haven't decided how Imp's relationship will effect that.  Will it delay Caroline?  If she does go into chrysalis, will she still be kidnapped by Utopia?  Good stuff there...)
c. A more active roll for Frostburn in shaping the team, and Sol specifically
d. More space exploration
e. More nova politics
f. Introducing the darker elements of Utopia, and problems with the terraforming project.
g. Revealing more about Shadow Walker, probably in a vignette.
h. Revisiting old plot lines that got glossed over during the war.

I've got half formed ideas working on all of these, and I'm just trying to decide the right time/way to intro them.  And which to intro first, and how to pace the new plot lines, as flooding stuff like that just results in stuff getting missed or swept under the rug.

I'll be on more heavily tonight and tomorrow, and probably either Sat or Sunday too, so you should see some progress on at least a few of the above plot lines.

Finally (sorry for going on so long), since I haven't asked in a while, are there any specific requests for anything?  You guys have mostly figured out that if you want it, you can write it into your posts as long as its reasonable and plays off of everyone else well, but did you need anything from me specifically?  Or just want to explore a particular direction?  Just let me know.

Re: Joy's of having no time...

Hey, looking to strengthen the CV here myself this semester.  I know the feeling.

I'd actually like to see some amount of effort by Utopia to turn us against one another as our ambitions diverge.  Order us to bring in Nova captives for detainment, that sort of thing.
