LOL, yeah...oops.  I was going to suggest that 'Tasm and Dragon recreate Pink's performance from the 2012 AMA's, then I realized that 2012 hadn't happened yet.

Ha, now why didn't I see THAT song coming?  I really should have.  "I'm Too Sexy" was perfect.

Thank you, Gale. I'm glad someone is finally questioning the wisdom of letting Grav come with you on this.

Re: OOC: 03 Jan 11 - ?

Oh no, its fine. Its great fun for me (aside from sitting here wracking my brain about how to be much more insane than I am actually familiar with). I just find the situation comical - Grav's really not the most ideal person to take on any sort of sensitive op right now. He's an insane power-weakened cripple.

Well, all of us are depowered, and Imp, at least, has a couple psychoses.  Not as many as Grav, of course, Grav gets the gold star for odd growths in the brain.

It has occurred to me that Kickstarter is an economic vampire, designed to drain geeks and gamers of their money, one cool-sounding project after another.

Re: OOC: 03 Jan 11 - ?

Okay, sorry for delays on updates, I got sidetracked by work and work related stuff.  Been going out of town and writing psy-ed reports and that always kills my fun time writing productivity.

Updating full circle now, will hit vignettes too.

State of the Game Address:
In other news that might interest people, I had another 2 applicants interested in joining (one via rpol rmail, the other a real life friend with solid writing skills).  Depending on how they respond to my questions I'm thinking about including them so that Serenade and the tier of players above her have more friends to play with, and to add a further element of verisimilitude to the play experience.

I am also working with Gravitas/Avilister, who has had active GM rights for a while now (like, the whole game I think), to take a more active role in handling the game.  Comstock is amazing, but we have a large cast of characters to handle and I've honestly been carrying less of the GM load than he has lately.  I want him to not feel put upon, and for us to be able to maintain more threads and action without huge pauses or brain drain on the part of the GM's.  So hopefully this will help things along.

If you have any thoughts, preferences, or useful suggestions related to this post, let me know.

Yes, the whole game. Rydi doesn't really know how to make rpol go. :P

Anyway, I need to catch up on threads I haven't been directly participating in. And do my homework. I'll... get right on both of those... If people have any requests (like threads that have just been left hanging, or that you want to revisit), lemme know and I'll see about doing responses there too. I know some things have fallen between the cracks here and there.

I feel like I need to rename myself too - 'Operations' is a cool name. I need a cool name...

This is mostly accurate.  I learn, but then I don't use the functions for anything, then I forget.

With Grav taking more of an admin role, I hope that will give better response time to ongoing stuff, leaving more time for 'Stock to make his consistently wonderful posts, and for me to get up plot progressing stuff without people being bored because of my delays.  This was actually my intent a long time ago, but Grav wasn't in a place to take on that kind of effort. Now that he's burdened by ever increasing physics homework though, he needs the distraction :P

Re: OOC: 03 Jan 11 - ?

In reply to Avilister (msg # 953):

Oh, I meant to elaborate above when talking about the added verisimilitude from adding new players.

By having differentiated tiers of player power level, I hope to explore that power as a theme as we develop the various plotlines we have in store.

While all the new players got generous amounts of nova points at character creation, and most should have at least one thing they are awesome at, they are not nearly as godly as the earlier joining pc's (once powers return).  And since you are all nice and mature players, I think that is something we could explore without the hurt feelings that sometimes come up in tabletop when there is a power differential.

How does a newly errupted, strong nova compare or compete with the shadow cast by Impetus hold over the world, or the imposing figure of Gravitas straddling the comsmos?  Or the heroic reputation of the Comstock, the all american metal man?  I envision threads devoted to the newer characters, with cameos from the older ones, even as other threads carry on the plot.

Anyway, that was all.  Off to dinner before I post more in the other threads.

Re: OOC: 03 Jan 11 - ?

So how's spring going for everybody?  Spring has sprung here, it's warming up and we're getting the first edges of the spring dust from the Gobi sweeping in.  Our spring semester has started, with all the usual chaos and crowds of confused freshmen that that entails.  I especially like seeing all these young ladies tottering around on high heels that they obviously have very little experience walking in, but are part of the dolling themselves up thing that they do after their high school incarceration.  On a totally different note, does anybody know people living in/that have lived in Hilo, Hawaii?  I'm applying for a job there and I'm looking for more info on the place.

Re: OOC: 03 Jan 11 - ?

Make sure you get cost of living, otherwise nine dollar a gallon milk is going to eat you alive.  On the plus side, Hilo is pretty cheap (comparatively) to buy/rent in.  I say comparatively because it's still something like twice the US average.  Not NYC impossible to afford the rent levels, but Boston-ish.  And I've known people who lived in New Hampshire and commuted to avoid having to pay rent in Boston.  Lastly, the elephant in the room is Bangladesh levels of rainfall.  I mean, in the US Hilo is only behind Ketchikan and Yakutat, Alaska for rain and you never see the sun in either of those places.  Beyond that, most of the information I've got is decidedly out of date.  As in "it was a good place to take a break from killing the Japanese" out of date.  Someone else may know more.

On yet another side-track, the system is telling me that we've only got another 47 posts before this thread gets killed.  So it's probably time to close it and start another.

Re: OOC: 03 Jan 11 - ?

Mucho Gusto!
I knew about the rain, part of me thinks that if i live outside of the rainsy part of the island things will be much better, but also cost more.
The interwebs tell me condos and such will run about 300k on average, which isn't that bad (i'm used to kroe with it's crazy housing costs)
Also, food, from what i understand, will be cheaper than food is currently in korea.  I'm basically living on a super heavily populated island as is...
Still early days yet, i don't know how much the positions i'm looking at will pay, that info comes after you get short listed apparently, but it's high time for me to leave korea, been here for around 11 years now and it's starting to drive me crazy.

I for one would really love to have some players that are newer like me to play with.

I am in approval of new membership.  And glad to hear new developments.

Having just started an awesome new job, I have been scarce for a little while.  But in the interest of getting things somewhat back to what they were, I'm giving myself a little challenge.  Get at least one post up each night for the next week or so.  Even if it's just a little bump on a thread or something like that.

Re: OOC: 03 Jan 11 - ?

Spring is confusing in Oklahoma.  The weather here was never known for stability, but the last few years have been a different set of odd fluctuation than the normal pattern of chaos.

Glad to hear everyone's work is going well, or at least that there are promising developments in that area for people.  I'm doing contract work right now as I wait for some permanent positions to open up... Crossing my fingers that will be sometime reasonably soon.

Thanks for the reminder Kraken, I didn't notice it but you are right.  I'll get a new ooc up in the next few days.

And that is a good idea 'Stock, I think I'll try and follow your lead.
