rMail Update

Hope I got the right forum!

Would it be possible to get rMail updated to match the behavior/formatting/layout of messages/PMs in games?

Right now, rMail:
  • does not have the option to jump to the last message.
  • allows no special characters/symbols, emojis, etc.
  • does not allow images linked through <img src="">.
  • right away opens quoted messages in the "preview" screen that shows only the past 5 messages rather than pasting them into the reply text box.
  • removes even those 5 replies when you actually click "Preview." Strangely, the preview screen itself seems to follow the formatting of the rest of the site, with things only going missing/changing once sent.
  • puts quotes in an entirely different format with invisible boxes (Possibly tables too, I haven't tested).
  • does not allow you to quote your own posts, or "reply" to any of them (only relevant in rMail with more than one other recipient but no reason to be missing, right?).
  • is missing the bottom navigation banner / does not have the option to go back to older/newer/specific numbered pages at the bottom of the page within an rMail.
  • does not allow you to see "All" messages in rMails with several pages.
  • lacks the "Top" and "Bottom" options in the navigation banners as well, though the arrows are there.
Basically, rMail lacks much of the functionality implemented when we transferred to the responsive site (and some that were on the old) and I'm not sure why.

I've got a growing list of writers I like to stay in touch with between games, but rMail can be super jarring compared to the rest of the site and I would love to see it catch up :)

Edited to add: Jumping to last message + Image tag/code.

rMail Update

To be honest, I had to go back 3 years to find an rMail with >25 posts to see what happened (and also found only 1 other rMail in there with >10 posts, though full disclosure, I was scanning quite quickly and might have missed some) ... and since I'm copied in on all moderator rMail, there was quite a few rMail in that period.

Which means I can understand why that'd be fairly low (basically flying completely under the radar) on jase's list of things to do when he was coding the Responsive update, since it so very rarely happens for us.

That said, I do like a consistent interface, so on that basis alone, I'm a +1 on bringing it into line with the other input screens.  :>

rMail Update

+1 for this as well  -  if only to have the messages broken into several pages, and/or have the page load at the latest message rather than at the top of the chain.  :-)
