The time stamp

Not sure if this is a glitch, an oversite, or what, nor why I haven't noticed it before now, but...

Daily light savings just kicked in (or ended, I am never sure which half of the year we are legally mandated to live out of sync with the Sun in), and the time stamp for my posts is fine, but the time stamp that I see as GM in the Cast list is an hour ahead.

Again, not sure if this is just the first time I've noticed in years of use (quite possible, I'm afraid) or if this is a new issue.

Are you perhaps in a part of the world where the clocks didn't change last night?

For me, today is the first time since the last time the time changed that the timestamps in the cast list -are- right. (They've been an hour behind all summer!) <.<

For funsies added bonus, the timestamps IN threads are now an hour ahead, but the timestamps for 'last post' in the main game menu for each thread are correct. (This was also off-kilter all summer, in a different direction, where the posted time was correct, but the menu time was behind.) I've gotten into the habit of just finding which listing is "right" for my current time, and going off of that one when it matters (like trying to tell if someone has seen something yet or not.)

tl;dr - it's not a new issue, unfortunately

Don't you just love clock changing time?! =D

No, that's the point, they DID change, even the time stamp that will appear on this post...but not the one in the GM version of the Cast list. it's different than that for the individual posts on the site.

Two differing times stamps, same site (RPoL)

Is the time correct on the main menu, as well as the time zone?  If I recall correctly browsers will show tz+1 when dst is in effect.

In reply to jase (msg # 4):

The post time stamp is correct per the time zone after the time change.

The Cast List shows the unchanged time, so it's an hour later.

Sorry can't replicate it, I switch between Perth (GMT+8) and Syndey (GMT+11 (GMT+10 w/ DST)) and all times change by 3 hours.

Check what https://webbrowsertools.com/timezone/ and https://browserspy.dk/date.php says.  Last time this was an issue the user had manually set the time on their PC and not adjusted the time zone.  I've also seen issues where the country/state/etc has changed their time zone start/end date and the browser/operating system isn't updated with these changes.

And that last one is probably what happened here. We did our nation wide (mostly) time change the night before it manifested.

Nevermind. It's there when you moved the cursor over the  character name.

As a player you'll only see the date when they last posted.
You'll need to be the GM to see when they were last online in the game.

So as a player we lost the ability to check when/if the GM was last online in the game :(
Anyway to get the last online back for the players too?

The GM last online is a very big thing for the players. It is for me certainly

The Last Login data was deliberately removed from the player-view cast list, along with a few other things, because it presented more challenges/potential issues than it helped with.

If someone isn't posting, they're not active. Knowing when they log in to clear notifications and then go back to ignoring the game doesn't make much difference in that.

It does.

When the GM last logged in is very different to when the GM last posted. I assume you play games on RPOL so you will know that...

Closing this thread - the original issue raised seems to have been resolved, and the discussion about GM Login is duplicating current discussion in New Site Design thread link to a message in this forum (which itself is revisiting discussion/feedback that happened way back during testing.
