Re: Lorelei - Weapon Salon

Despite Narik initial strategy to keep on the attack his opponent’s experience of sword-fighting had him on the run. The soldiers own attacks were weak and ill planned, his defence relying on his speed made little use of the foil in his own hand. Kala’s lunge penetrated his failing guard to score a hit squarely on Narik chest.

The sudden move had Narik back pedaling as he stretched to make a counter attack. He over stretched himself and the tip of his blade was short of striking the Zeltron’s body. He seemed to be losing.

Re: Lorelei - Weapon Salon

Narik was quick, he seemed to be recovering from his strike attempts quickly, and going for another. Though, she reminded herself while speed was a wonderful trait, it wasn't everything in combat. Her mentor once told her that it wasn't the person who got the first blow in who was the victor, but the last one.

As Narik passed by with another strike, Kala saw an opening, and took it, her blide thrusting foward again.

Re: Lorelei - Weapon Salon

Another successful strike from Kala put her two hits up and on the verge of winning. The competitive streak in Narik didn’t want to lose without scoring a point.

His continued attempts to evade the tip of Kala’s foil prevented him finding any weakness in her defence so again his simple attack was easily stopped by the Zeltron.

Re: Lorelei - Weapon Salon

Kala readied her weapon and parried Narik's strike. Her expression hadn't changed from the get-go, her face still wearing a mask of pure, serine calmness. As she broke the parry, she took another stab at him, trying to wrap this up, so that others could relax, or get out pent up aggression.

A successful thrust from the Zeltron and Narik had been defeated without even breaking her defence once. When Narik lifted his protective visor he worn a grin to hide his disappointment, the then soldier lowered his blade ”thanks for the lesson; sorry I wasn’t much of challenge” he apologised as he returned the foil to the sideboard.

Varis turns and smiles at Aadun. "I guess we can settle up later."

She stands up. "So, who would like to go next? Krysten and Joron, perhaps? Aadun, are you up for a round or do you want to challenge someone to a pistol contest?"

Kala removed her visor, and saluted Narik with her weapon. "It was good for someone who never held a blade though." She replied, as she set the visor and the foil back into it's place. "I used to do it quite often, so it does feel good to get the old muscles going."

It might have been only a courtesy but Narik appreciated Kala’s good grace in offering him an excuse for his poor performance. And it had been good to get some exercise ”a good workout but I wouldn’t want to rely on a weapon like that in a fight give me a blaster any day” he joked off his failure in an easy manner with Kala. He hadn’t expected the Zeltron to be as skilled in sword-fighting, he wondered if she hid any other surprises.

Krysten stood up once again, having sat down waiting for Narik and Kala to finish their match.  She motioned to Joron, stepping out to the center of the salon.

"Common, fancy pants."

Aadun smiles.  "Sounds good," he replies to Varis' first question and then says, "I'd like to watch this match, but afterwards I am interested in trying out the pistols."  He watches as Krysten and Joron are about to take the floor.  He was quite interested in this fight, but was hiding his curiosity.  He knew that Krysten would probably be quite good, but he had been wondering about Joron's skills for a while.

[Private to Varis Rei: As far as the bet goes, unless you want to do this another way, I am going to go ahead and take the money out of my inventory on the assumption that I hand over the credits as soon as I have access to them.]

Re: Lorelei - Weapon Salon

"Blasters are a decent weapon. However, some worlds it's impossible to carry one, due to restrictions or such. So, always have some other weapon you might be able to reach for, just in case." Kala replied, as she took a seat, and waited for the next match to begin. "You should see the masters of swords on my planet. They wear next to nothing, and wield two blades... Unlucky people tend to underestimate them, until they're torn into pieces by the dance of blades..."

Re: Lorelei - Weapon Salon

Joron shot Krysten a wry smile smile in response as he followed her toward the dueling circle. He hadn't come here to face the Mandalorian but he didn't seem the sort to back down from a challenge despite its difficulty. "I profess to, hmm, moderate skill with a blade. Everything else is..." He wove his hand dismissively. If he was indeed a dilettante, he probably tried his hands at a number of different things in the past. The question was what, if anything, he stuck with. "Have you a preference for this contest?" Though he spoke those words innocent and true, his eyes beamed with unveiled mischief.

It was official, fancy pants was up to something.

"Oh but I didn't see last time," Joron reminded her. "I was hoping for something more interesting," he began, as if to shift the warrior's mindset elsewhere. Maybe he had something on his mind? "But I suppose it cannot be helped..." Looking to Narik, he gave the man a rather helpless shrug. It seemed it was his turn to fight in a match he had little to no skill in. Defeating the dala would certainly be tough. However, that did not preclude the fact he would not learn from the encounter.

Krysten grinned at Joron as he came into the center of the room with her.  She could tell he was putting on a small act, but wasn't entirely sure what she was getting herself into.  But she was itching to get a hit in, especially as Varis had taken her 3-0.

Re: Lorelei - Weapon Salon

An act, a hit, a promise at redemption, many things were now involved in this session between man and woman but none more important than the last. Silenced withered, replaced by the sounds of joints cracking and popping as the well-dressed noble stretched for the eventful conflict. Once, twice, three times he forced his body to go limber. Despite the sounds, the motions were fluent, graceful and practiced. When he finished, Joron dropped down low in what appeared to be a defensive stance and narrowed his eyes at the lady. He didn't come at her, oh no...that pleasure was reserved for her.
[private to Krysten Tyner: As you wish. For my first act, I have thrown Joron into a defensive fighting stance and taken no attacks. Pushing his Ref from 18 to 23. Let's see what you've got, Mandalorian!]

Re: Lorelei - Weapon Salon

Kala’s sentiments were a sensible attitude and one Narik agreed with. As part of his training he been taught to defend himself even when unarmed and how to make the best of what he had”always good to have a back-up” he nodded a little distracted by the thought of how it would be to fight against Kala if she was wearing next to nothing like she suggested the natives of her home did.

He was dragged from further thoughts of Kala as Joron caught his eye. Narik responded with a nod and mouthed a silent good luck to the noble as he prepared himself.

Kala was also interested to see the Mandalorian fight Joron. He seemed to be calculating, and calm, so she'd probably have a hard time riling him up, plus, she wanted to see how he fought, was it with percision, or strength.

"This should be an interesting match..." She said, as she picked up two bottles of water, and handed on to Narik.

The soldier accepted the bottle of water from Kala, his hand brushing against hers lightly as he took it. Could he trust her? He was yet to find that out he guessed. He uncapped the water and took a mouthful before answering her ”let’s see what Krysten got” he stated as he had witnessed  her defeat at the hands of Varis earlier.

Re: Lorelei - Weapon Salon

Colluded eyes settled upon Krysten and studied her deeply. Cautious, with movements of grace but that kick, that kick did possess power. When it came, he lifted his left leg to evade the blow then moved to strike...or so it seemed. Agile and swift, his movements quickly turned deceptive. Joron's aim was not to strike at Krysten. They were to unbalance and unsettle her so he might capitalize on an opening. [private to Krysten Tyner:

Re: Lorelei - Weapon Salon

To test her defenses with a feint was unrewarding, for Krysten's perception and battlefield awareness made it a useless gesture. But like her low kick, it served its purpose. Grinning, perhaps in approval, the young noble stepped around and threw his first strike. [private to Krysten Tyner: Good job on the initiative roll. 08:44, Today: Joron Sarrus rolled 12 using 1d20+4. Attack vs Krysten - gimme 20~. Re: Lorelei - Weapon Salon

The attack was what she had been waiting for.  She had finally managed to draw the silk-clad delegation member just far enough out of his guard that she could strike.  Krysten twisted her body into a flat spin, kicking out with one leg immediately after the other, both of her feet striking with brutal precision into his midsection.

Re: Lorelei - Weapon Salon

Powerful, superbly executed, the blow took the wind right out of Joron's body. He grunted and gasped, fighting to draw in the oxygen she so deviously stole without lowering his guard enough to present an open body for which to capitalize on. Undaunted by what had to be a painful blow, his eyes narrowed while his stance shifted. Soon, he swung his leg for the Mandalorian's head! [private to Krysten Tyner: haha, you stole my 20!
