Re: Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 2

Kala nodded to the others, and excused herself from the table, heading back to her room. From one of the larger suitcases, she pulled a smaller case. Inside, were a lot of different pieces of something. She put a few other odds and ends in the case to fill it up, and better hide the pieces.

Granted, unless one knew what they were looking at, it would be hard to tell what the finished product was. She headed back to the dining area, and handed it to Varis. "I would ask you to store this then." She said, as she gave the other woman a smile.

Narik was glad to have the plan agreed. It allowed them all to focus and start working together as a team. When Aadun excused himself Narik was not sure if the Zabrak was following Varis’s direction or running some personal errand. He didn’t get a chance to question Aadun so to eliminate any chance for error Narik retrieved his own datapad from his room and returned to the dining room with it under his arm.

Seated back at the table he switched the computer on and began his own checks on Brill. Searching for any details on the Twi’lek, his habits and his likes.

A little bit later, Aadun walked back into the room and took his seat. "Turns out Brill seems to have won an auction or two for some rare vintage wine," he says with a light shrug.  "So this may be a good way to go.  He also has a harem of slave women and he collections historical artifacts.  He's such a good guy he's known for lending them to the museum," he says, reading from his a list

Re: Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 2

To listen to Brill's likes and dislikes brought no small amount of satisifaction to Joron's ears. Like any twi'lek with power, he was a collector of exquisite rarities, a category that seemed to coincide with collecting slaves. Glancing at Kala, he could only help but wonder how the man would take her presence; some were not to be trusted.

"Well then, I say we take a bottle of one of the rarest bottles of wine on the ship and be off." So saying, the human stood from his seat and headed toward the hanger.

In the end Narik was not required to even make the briefest search on his datapad and shut it down. He then strapped on his two blasters, and then he pulled his robes over his shoulders to conceal them.

”Let’s give him a call then” the soldier looked to Joron to do the honours as he stood at the ready.

"I'll be back in a few minutes. I need to put away Kala's bag and I'll pick up a bottle of wine while I'm there," she says. "I know just the vintage to donate. Only a true connoisseur will appreciate it."

For a brief moment, Kala thought she saw the tiniest bit of worry in Joron's eyes as he looked at her. Though, that could be the speck of dust he might have in his eye.

This brill sounded like most of the criminal element that seemed to thrive in the dark parts of the galaxy. Some who she had encountered before, she just had to keep her guard up.

Varis returns a few minutes later, sans bag, holding a small wooden crate. It looks very rustic, considering the technology available in the galaxy, but perhaps that just means it is that much more valuable.

"Be gentle with this. Don't jostle it," she says, handing the crate to Joron.

Krysten took the time that Aadun was in his room searching to return to her room as well, and returned with her small armory of a blaster carbine slung over her shoulder within easy reach, her two heavy blaster pistols riding low on her thigh armor and her wrist rocket launcher prominent on her right wrist.  On her left was a datapad modified to be used with a single hand while her bandolier bristled with ammunition for her wrist launcher and ammunition packs for her blasters.  All in all, despite her almost petite frame, she provided a very attention-grabbing visual.  Something that would grab everyone's attention, and leave little room in someone's mind for the other, less-spectacular members of the group.

OOC: In the event that you choose to return to the hotel, just post back here.

When you return to the hotel after your meeting with Brill, you find the penthouse is currently empty, except for two of the security guards.

Kala entered the penthouse, and gave a little sigh. They would have to inform Varis of what happened in the meeting, and she would no doubt be a little unhappy about what had unfolded. They would also have to use the Ship's communication system to go and inform Orn.

So, she headed for Varis' room, and knocked on the door, hoping she would be in.

After waiting for several minutes, there is still no answer from the rooms that Varis is currently using.

Kala sighed. The others would be joining her shortly, or should be. Though, there was still enough time to inform Orn of the situation. The ship would have a better comminications suite, and probably less chance of getting intercepted and decoded, depending on what sort of gear the imperials were using. Not that they would care, per se.

So, Kala began to make her way to the hangar.

In the hangar, at the ramp of the ship, there is a posted Officer of the Watch, to ensure that no one boards without authorization. "Ah, Ms. Jorn, what can I do for you today?" the crewman asks politely.

Narik after his brief private meeting with Kala made his way to the group’s communal living area whilst the Zeltron returned to the Lorelei to get a message to Orn. The soldier found a seat and unceremoniously swung his booted feet up to rest his heels on the table. He still hadn’t really calmed down after the confrontation with Brill but made a show that he was relaxed. Soon they would be doing it all over again with Sinya.

When the others joined him he smiled and asked the group about Orn’s daughter ”what gift shall we take Sinya?”.

"Hello there. I actually need to access the communications suite aboard the ship." Kala replied, as she nodded to the crew member. "I would rather not use the unit in the hotel, as it could be intercepted and the mission could be compromised."

Aadun walked in at his own pace and looked over at Narik.  "I may have salvaged some relationship with Brill, so don't worry about setting us back.  Next time, try to have some self control.  Nobody wants to be lectured after all."

Once he had that out of his system, he shrugs his shoulders.  "Depending on whether or not she was trying to hide that relationship, the pictures  may be useful.  Otherwise I suppose I could research her like I did Brill."

Kala nodded.

"Thank you very much." She said, as she headed into the ship. She had gotten to know the major areas of the vessel, and so, she headed for the communication room. She headed over to the panel, hoping they had programmed in an easy way to contact Orn.

Re: Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 2

"Uncertain," Joron stated with a small shrug of his shoulders. "In the portrait she seemed most lascivious with her... friend. More wine could do the trick, but..." He trailed off. Sinya certainly did not carry the visage he first imagined when Lord Orn told them she was a doctor. Maybe she had morals, or maybe it was simply the most lucrative career outside of politics she could muster? Her father believed her to be an innocent...

But fathers were often mistaken about their daughters.

"A word of advice, Master Narik. Never appeal to a businessman's, especially a twi'lek businessman's, sense of honor or decency." The noble grinned as he reclined in one of the chairs. "You'll get about the same response out of one as you would our employer...if not worse." Right now, they could only be thankful Aadun had assuaged the eldest son; if he hadn't...

"It would be most beneficial to us." Joron nodded to the Zabrak. "Personally, I'm interested in seeing just what kind of doctor she is... and her record."

Narik remained cool as the Zabrak tried to berate him. There was no recognised chain of command expect Jaerad. Perhaps Varis had some element of control but each of them could act freely. Narik could say what he liked to who he liked, same as Aadun and Joron were doing now. The soldier shrugged ”Brill don’t need to like us we ain’t employed by him, let him fret. He’s been warned that we’re going to act, if he don’t make his move then one of his brothers or even his sister will if they're ambitious enough” he kept his feet on the table and smiled at his companions.

It would be good to get some intelligence on Sinya ”go ahead find out what you can about Sinya before we head over to see her” Narik nodded ”after that we’ll have committed ourselves to bringing down the Distombe clan. We’ll be making real enemies then, you shouldn’t be afraid of upsetting folk when you’ve been sent here to kill’em”.

Aadun glared at Narik not bothering to hide just how angry he was.  'Stupid human,' he thinks to himself and crosses his arms.  "You had better hope that ruining our chances of having a reasonable conversation about Sinya doesn't affect this mission and my future job prospects," he says with a certain edge to his voice.

"Now, I'm going to go do my research."  He turned and left the room.

At the present moment with Imperial presence success in the mission was becoming a less likely event. Narik had no desire to wind the Zabrak up any further however so he let the matter slip. Like he’d said people were going to die, they’d be lucky if none of them were included in the death count.

Aadun had a chance to cool down while he was off working on the computer, so when he came back to the room, he was mostly his usual self.  "I've found out that Sinya is pristine.  A good doctor in a charity clinic who is also a socialite.  There isn't a hint of scandal, even with her friend.  His name is Valsil Olan, whose family owns this very hotel, and they are the same social class and age."

"She'll probably laugh at us if we show them the pictures, so there's no chance of blackmail.  We'll have to get her a gift."

Olan Marquis Hotel - Evening, After the Meeting with Sinya

You return to your hotel again after the meeting with Sinya, which seems to have gone considerably better than the one with Brill, defying Orn's expectations.
