Kala returned to the hotel and sighed a little bit. Already, the mission might be in trouble, if they didn't get a response from Orn soon. She also hoped that Varis hadn't rummaged through her bag and perhaps seen something she didn't want seen.

Shaking her head, she took a seat in the main room.

As the door to their suite closed, Krysten unsealed her helmet with a hiss of equalizing pressure and lifted it off, shaking out her hair.

"So, how did the meeting with the sister go?"

"A little different then the meeting with the brother. Interestingly enough, both of them do not wish for her to be on the ruling council." Kala replied, as she sighed a little. "I do need to check and see if Orn had responded to our communication, and bring him up to speed. Hopefully there's no blaster cannon built into the communications system so that they can shoot the messenger..."

Aadun walked in after the women and shook his head.  "She did seem easier to manage, even if she has no want to be a part of our plan.  This may just come down to how stubborn Orn is." he says and crosses his arms.  "So far it doesn't appear that he shares his son's disdain for women, but I still wonder if you're the best person to give him this news.  Not that I think there is anything wrong with you, or your abilities, Kala, but the regard for women here is not what it is on other planets."

"I can understand your concern Aadun. If you want to be there when I deliver the knews, that would be fine. I attempted to contact him earlier, but he was... indisposed at the time. So, he is probably going to attempt to contact me back." Kala replied, with a nod. "So, I leave that choice to you."

There are no messages waiting in the suite, but for security reasons, they'd be on the ship anyway, since that is where they would have been received.

Kaiten made an excuse not to return to the penthouse, saying that he an errand he wanted to take care of quickly.

Aadun nodded his head.  "It may not be necessary, but just keep me informed.  Truly, I wish I could have worked on Brill longer, but I'm afraid he may be a lost cause now.  Maybe, if I find something on him, we can make him cooperate.  It would have to be something really big though," he says idly and then sits down in a chair.

"As far as the assassination goes, we need to get on with it so we can get out of here."

The team’s progress was difficult to assess. The appearance of the Imperial Inquisitor as they arrived made for a tricky mission but the absence of any obvious allies or cooperation from Orn’s children left them with little to show for their time in Kala’unn. ”We should decide our next action. Without the cooperation of Brill or Sinya do we continue regardless?” he asked everyone.

Aadun nodded his head and looked over at Narik.  Any earlier animosity appeared to be gone and he has gone back to his usual neutral demeanor.  "You're right, Narik.  Neither of them have been helpful and it would have been good if Orn had actually warned us about Brill's feelings for his sister.  Either he's in denial or he's blind."

"Are you suggesting we should just give up?" he asks after a moment of silence and looks over at the man again.

"Not necessarily blind or in denial. He may truly not be aware. Consider that he probably hasn't had regular contact with his children since he left Kala'uun. In the hopes of ensuring his expected inheritance, I suspect that Brill kept his feelings about his sister between his brothers and himself.

"On the other hand, it seems quite likely that Orn knows exactly how Brill feels and left Sinya with all those holdings on purpose to keep her from being dependent on her brother. Orn may be hoping or expecting that Brill's ambitions outweigh his dislike of his sister," Varis says from the doorway.

As the discussion continued Narik found himself a seat and relaxing his slung the outer cloak of his robes across the back of the chair. He considered the Zabrak’s query carefully before he answered ”I’m not suggesting we quit just yet but not sure if the assassination Skaan Distombe will achieve anything if the Ziveri clan do not step up to take power afterwards. If they’re not united or prepared I suspect some other clan will seizure the opportunity offered, putting us back to square one” he replied ”from where I stand our focus must be to bring together the Ziveri clan so that they can rival any clan in Kala’uun. Only then can we begin our offence against the Distombe clan”.

"If he did know then it would have been prudent for him to at least tell us of his suspicions," he comments and sighs.  "Not that any of that matters now.  So, what do you suggest?  We speak with Brill again?  Track down the other brothers?  Force Brill and Sinya to talk?"

"It takes parents with specific interests to truly know everything about their children," Joron shrugged nonchalantly. "Aadun, I think it may prove most beneficial if you could dig up any filth on Brill that you can."

Though, could the Zabrak perform such a feat? Oh, it was true that he managed to dig up information on the siblings once before but the brash young noble could not help but ponder whether or not that was the extent to the knowledge available or Ogden's skill. Beneath a shroud of indifference, a modicum of the well-dressed human hoped that the slicer could pull through for them. But it was best not to rest upon hope alone...

"Though, Miss Jorn, I believe you are mistaken. I'm under the impression she very much wishes to be part of the council. You heard the way she spoke of her good intentions. It is the futility of sharing that power with her brothers that vexes her." Suddenly he turned to Narik. "No assassinations. That should be a last resort. After meeting her, I very much doubt she will agree to do anything if a Distombe suddenly dies of anything short of ... natural causes."

Again, his mind wandered to the propaganda each of them witnessed on the news. Were Sinya the cooperative sort, they might have procured a sample to use, but no... they were left to their own devices.

"For now, I must work on drafting an... agreement between the good Doctor and her kin, one to ensure their cooperation on the council. Varis? If I could borrow your ear for a moment...? Aadun, if you find anything of note, perhaps on either party, do let me know."

If there was nothing further, Joron sauntered for his room.

"If you'd like a private word, Joron, you should accompany me to the Lorelei. I need to check my messages and then I need to make some calls," Varis says.

"If anyone else needs me, you'll find me aboard the ship." So saying, she turns and heads towards the elevator.

Kala raised an eyebrow as Joron and Varis left the room to go talk on the ship. She stood up herself and walked over to Aadun, patting him on the shoulder. "I know you'll find something we can use." She said, as she flashed a smiled before making her own way to the ship.

She needed to check the communication unit, to see if Orn had sent a reply when they were out.

Aadun nodded his head and responds, "Thanks." He tilts his head and watches her leave, not bothering to hide exactly what he was staring at.  Once she is out of sight, he looks over at Narik and shrugs.  "I guess I should try to find some dirt on Brill then."

As the group split up, Krysten shrugged philosophically.

"I'll be in my quarters.  If you need someone assassinated or someone guarded, give me a holler."

With that, she turned on her heel and moved to her room.

A moment of peace without restraints was always valued by Narik. As a soldier’s life could be ended quickly so it was worth taking a moment to enjoy the slower times. His lips curled into a wry smile as he turned to Aadun ”if we could persuade him to join his sister for its own benefit it would be preferable to forcing him with blackmail. Maybe you could investigate what motivates him and how his business could prosper if he was allied with Sinya. A willing ally will be easier to work with than if we twist his arm. If we force him when the pressures off he’s likely to bite ours hands off”.

With a shrug ”I’ll leave the holonet to you” he commented, aware that his own abilities were barely amateur. When everyone was busy the soldier left Aadun and the others to their tasks. Maybe he could get some information of the streets. He had rested long enough; he went to knock on Krysten’s door ”do you want go see what we can dig up on the street?” he asked her.

Still in her armor with weapons mounted, she nodded.

"Sure.  Did you have anywhere in particular you wanted to go?"

As she finished the question, the helmet that was never very far from hand slid over her features, sealing the suit with a short hiss.

Since it appeared that everybody was going to be busy for a while, Aadun stood up, stretched and went off to find a computer he could work on.  The information wouldn't magically appear in his head and the sooner he gets started the sooner he could hopefully unwind in a cantina after it is done.

As Krysten readied herself and her armour Narik nodded ”aye” he straightened his own cloak and turned to leave ”I’ve a feeling that there’s plenty going on that we have not noticed yet. It started when Varis hitched a ride here and then the Inquisitor made an appearance. I reckon whilst Kala irons out the details with Orn and Aadun completes his research we should see if we can learn more about the Inquisitor and why there are here. We can start by heading into the city; maybe visit the city hall, museum or wherever Joron said the Inquisitor would be going. What do you think?” Narik had spoken little with Krysten and was curious how she assessed the situation.

Aadun wandered back out into the main room of the hotel and upon seeing nobody around, he heads off to the ship where he remembered some of his companions went earlier.  In fact, Joron told him to find him, so that is what he decided to do first.

Steady footfalls catch the Zabrak's attention as Joron Sarrus walks through the halls of the ship. His gait is slow, even and leisurely, perhaps more so than usual. With hands clasped behind his head, the young noble gazes at the ceiling until the slicer's crown comes into view.

"Mmm?" The Tapani murmured, lowering his hands to his side as he levels his gaze on the man. "You've found something?"

"I have an idea, anyway.  Little bit of deception, but it could give Brill the insentive to work with his sister," he says and crosses his arms.  "I'll start from the beginning.  Brill is clean and I think I could search for the next hundred years and still not find anything that would be good blackmail material.  The only thing he's doing illegally is possible smuggling and it would be in our best interests not to get the Empire involved right now."

"So, I looked into his business interests.  When this deal goes through and Orn's children are running the place his business has the chance to increase at least 25% in profits from the smuggling operation he will set up with Kienaan.  Therefore, I suggest we let him believe that this venture is only open to him if he accepts his sister.  What do you think?"

"It could work," Joron nodded. "Even if he's stubborn and spiteful enough to turn his nose up at the potential profits because of Sinya, if he believes this is his only chance at them, he may very well take it. Men like him care for very little and their income is one of them. His illegal shipping could act as the proper leverage we need. Even without drawing the Empire into this, we need only offer his rivals that information. Or worse, reinforce the fact Sinya knows of said dealings and that we cannot stop her from using said knowledge against him should he not cooperate. But, we can use that as a last resort, should he not see the, how you say, initial profit of such a merger."
