Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

As Narik engaged the stormtroopers, Kala made her way up to where the Lieutenant was seated, and flipped the blaster to the stun setting, just in case. She stood a few feet to the side of him, and pointed the weapon at him.

"I wouldn't try to call for help Lieutenant. Just stand up and surrender, or I'll be forced to put you down." She said, using her most annoyed tone.

19:13, Today: Kala Jorn rolled 17 using 1d20+7 with rolls of 10. Persuade-intimidate Check. Forgot to add my +2 for 1/2 half level, so it's 19 total.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Narik takes the first stormtrooper by surprise. His unarmed strike sends the man reeling, but doesn't down him, quite.

The officer sneers at Kala. "Not on your life, chicky. If it's you or the Inquisitor, I'll take my chances with you."

Then he draws his own blaster pistol, pointing it at Kala and depresses the emergency alert on his comlink. In his headset, Narik hears the alert go out. Apparently his jamming of the signal didn't work. [Private to Narik: I figure the DC 20 on electronic devices was the base DC you were trying to get. You only rolled a 15 on the Mechanics check, though.]

OOC: I don't think standing from a chair would provoke an AoO. It just isn't the same as being prone.

Also, I know it has been awhile since we did combat, but it helps things if you post rolls and combat actions in red while keeping OOC to orange.

Damn, Narik cursed inwardly. He took a small step backwards and smoothly lowered his blaster rifle he called out to Kala “we’ve got company, blast him” as spoke he opened fire on the two stormtroopers knowing now the alarm was raised they would have to rely on speed instead of subterfuge.

Narik downs both of the stormtroopers with a hail of blaster fire. Now, the Lieutenant is all alone and Kala has an opportunity to take him down so that they can face whatever is coming next.

[Private to Xander Flynn: Xander is surprised to hear blaster fire echoing from down the corridor outside his cell.]

Kala lined up a shot with the blaster pistol and squeezed the trigger, hoping to down the lieutenant with a single shot on stun.

You rolled 14 using 1d20+9 ((5)).(Rolled wrong, added a +2 when I shouldn't have so, the actual attack roll is 12)

Kala's shot misses on the high side. If only the officer had stood up, it might have made a difference.

The officer stands and returns fire, but misses by even more than Kala. The shot had no chance of hitting.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

With the stormtroopers eliminated Narik uprighted his rifle flicked the autofire switch off, he then supported the rifle on his shoulder and blasted the officer. Narik had been trained in the use of all weapons and the rifle was as familiar to him as his usual blaster pistols. He teased the trigger and fired twice in quick succession.

Trained to keep on the move to avoid becoming a target Narik moved into an advantageous position as soon as he’d completed his shot. He made sure he was in a position where he could cover the entranceway whilst being out of sight himself "get the security pass and release the prisoners" he called to Kala once he knew he was in a position to cover her.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

The Lieutenant is obviously hurt, but he doesn't go down to Narik's well-placed shots. Kala, closer to the door than Narik, can hear the footsteps of reinforcements in the hallway, and so can the Lieutenant.

He yells to the reinforcements, "There are two of them! The living stormtrooper in here is a traitor!" And then he fires at Kala, missing, and attempts to move past her into the hallway.

Narik felt a strange buzzing in his head. It disturbed his concentration and as the Lieutenant made a run for it Narik’s usually calm and accurate attack was poorly aimed. The officer’s words also bit deep. Any confusion the stolen stormtrooper armour might have caused had been dissipated.

“Get those prisoners out” he called more urgently “there’s someone in my head” he growled.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Kala's attack is a hit, but the lieutenant stoically staggers through the door and out of their line of sight. To make matters worse, the other stormtroopers and lieutenant have arrived as well. They take position outside the door, trapping Kala and Narik in the break room. The only way out is through that door and there is a stormtrooper on either side of it.

OOC: The prisoners are out the door and back down the hallway, where you left the stormtrooper trapped without armor. And the lieutenant who just made it out the door has the access keys.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Kala's regular energy shot misses the Lieutenant, pinging off the door frame.

Over the comlink, and through the door, Narik and Kala can hear the second lieutenant calling for help. "Officer down. We have two armed terrorists attempting to free the Inquisitor's prisoners. We need assistance. Repeat. We need assistant. Over."

In response, Narik hears, "All non-essential units have been dispatched to the starport. The nearest help is the Inquisitor's shuttle. We will redirect to the Sienar landing facility. You have to hold out for at least five minutes."

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Trapped. It was a desperate situation, but whilst Narik calculated the odds of a successful escape he heard the announcement that reinforcements would be delayed. The soldier didn’t pass any message onto Kala, he would rather keep the knowledge that he was eavesdropping to himself than declare it.

He considered his circumstances, if they had been in a military garrison he would have felt worse. The complex was not designed for combat and he hoped that all of the combatants were only vaguely familiar with its layout.

With only one route out they needed to improvise. Narik swivelled his rifle around and switching back to autofire attempted to blast a hole in the wall.

OOC Narik will blast the wall in an attempt to make an alternative opening into the corridor which the officers and stormtroopers are hiding.

Swift Action – Switch to Autofire
Standard Action – Autofire on wall

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

The stormtroopers use their newly acquired cover well, just peaking out from behind it enough to shoot at the nearest target, Kala. of course, they're just stormtroopers and not very talents, so this results in a pair of blaster bolts zinging off of Kala's table. Still, it's enough to make Narik and Kala sweat.

With a trained stubbornness to never accept defeat Narik continue to blast the wall. His finger held on the trigger he scattered a barrage of blaster bolts against the wall. In his head he was continued to be plagued by doubts.

“Danger” he spoke aloud, trying out the sound of the word in case the voice in his head was his own subconscious. When he deduced the word was definitely not of his own making he didn’t know if he was going mad or something much worse was going on.

OOC Narik will continue to blast the wall.

As the battle raged the buzz of blaster bolts mingled with the smell of charred and blasted furniture. It was a familiar environment for Narik. He had fought in all kinds of surroundings. Whilst it was safe to do so the soldier was willing to hold his position, he saw no advantage to risking his and Kala’s safety with some risky plan to overcome the stormtroopers.

Narik kept his body low and with his rifle braced on his shoulder as he fired at the wall. When Kala called out over the noise he acted swiftly. Without lowering his rifle he reset the rifle’s firing mode and switched his target.
