Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Imperial Base

The Imperials are using the Sienar Fleet Systems complex as a base of operations. It's a large office complex, not exactly meant for military occupation, although it does have a secure perimeter.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

For something they came up with on short notice, Kala felt that the plan was sound. She would play the role of a terrified woman, being brought in by an imperial officer for who knew what. Hopefully, they could secure Kaiten and bring him back safely.

As with any mission nerves could be fraught and tensions high. Narik kept his calm however but was silent until the landspeeder reached the destination.

At the outskirts of the base he waved a hand to order the landspeeder forward and across the perimeter. Narik kept an air of imperviousness; he avoided any communication and feinted a cold demeanour.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

The first few checkpoints, manned by a quartet of stormtroopers apiece are navigated by the pilot of the vehicle, aided by Aadun's forged identification code cylinders and orders.

They are directed to the rear loading dock of an office building, the basement of which is being used as a detention area. At the dock, a pair of Imperial Fleet Security officers are standing guard in their black uniforms. They look bored, but become more alert as the landspeeder pulls up to the platform.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Remaining calm Narik watched impassively as they manoeuvred their way into the centre of the Imperial base. They’d be no going back now he thought to himself. The sight of stormtroopers and Imperial officers were a reminder for the deserter that if they were revealed as impostors just how much trouble they would be in.

Aware that no one else would come to Kaiten’s aid if they didn’t Narik stepped out of the landspeeder. It was also true that the Jedi however strong would probably betray them when under interrogation. He gave a curt order to the driver of the landspeeder telling him to remain in position until he returned. Narik then roughly grabbed Kala and dragged her from the speeder. With a hand on Kala’s arm he pulled her toward the office block.

He marched his captive toward he two Imperial Fleet Security officers “this alien he spat the word out with intolerant zeal “is to be educated in the correct respect to show its superiors” he grinned with cruelty “I will escort it to the detention cells personally” he explained as he pushed her forward and into a position in between the guards.

Kala for her part, played the role of a scared alien in an imperial officer's hands. Her eyes were big, and a tear or two could be seen as she was shoved along by Narik. "I didn't do anything, I swear!" She said, as he pushed her foward.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

A quick look at Narik's rank insignia prompts the two guards to snap to attention. "Yes sir, right away. Anything the Commander needs?"

One of the guards gives Kala a look of distaste at her protestations of innocence. It's clear he doesn't think she's innocent of anything and wouldn't care even if she were.

"The Inquisitor is returning shortly to take the other prisoners back to the ships, sir. They're all in sub-basement B2, if that's where you'll be taking this one," the other guard volunteers, trying to be helpful.

[Private to Narik: I rolled your Deception check. Nice work. LoL]

Inwardly Narik grinned at the soldier’s trained discipline and ease of their plan so far. Outwardly he acknowledged the soldier’s aid with a nod “I need to left undisturbed” Narik made his intentions clear “remain at your posts” he commanded them as he lead Kala into the building and went in search of a turbolift to the basement.

The two guards leave Narik to escort the prisoner.

There's a service elevator about five meters down the wide corridor. A quick inspection reveals that it accesses sub-basement 2 as well as all the floors up to the fifth.

Not knowing if there were any sensors or cameras in the elevator, Kala kept up her mask of being the poor, scared little alien, about to be hauled off for a horrible fate by an imperial officer.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Walking to the turbolift Narik retained his grip on Kala. He held her bag in his other hand. The soldier wondered what it held, possibly some kind of weapon or bomb. Unsure if they were being observed Narik resisted any urge to reassure Kala or communicate with her in any way.

Before stepping into the lift Narik quickly scanned the hallway for directions to any emergency exit or stairwell. He didn’t want to arouse any suspicions by using the stairs to reach the basement but he wanted to know where they were located in case they would need to use them to escape.

In the lift Narik set the controls for sub-basement 2. He then proceeded to take Kala to the detention cells.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Narik notes the emergency stairs are across from the turbolift, but closer to the entrance to the loading docks.

The ride down the turbolift is short and the door opens on a pair of stormtroopers, weapons pointed at the pair. "Identification, please," says a voice from outside the lift that they can't see.

A lieutenant walks into view, careful not to get in the line of fire. He's holding a code cylinder scanner. "Commander, if you'd please interface your rank cylinder here as verification," he tells Narik.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Crunch time. Narik didn’t sweat it. He’d had blasters pointed at him before. There was still a risk that things would get ugly. Narik knew the stormtroopers would want to keep him contained until he identified himself and any suspicious move now despite his assumed rank of Commander would be met with force.

“Lieutenant” he acknowledged the officer with a degree of respect as he held out his id for verification.

"Thank you, sir," the lieutenant says after a moment. The stormtroopers lower their weapons. "Everything appears to be in order.

"The prisoner can be left at the processing desk, down this hallway and to your left about fifteen meters,"
he says, indicating the hallway to Narik's left as well.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Narik had not known if the uniform and ID would actually work. When it did he was relieved. He searched the lieutenant’s face for any sign of deception. Perhaps the ID hadn’t actually worked and he was being lead into a trap.

With his left hand Narik pushed Kala in front of him and escorted her down the hallway and away from the presence of the stormtroopers and the Lieutenant. Next they had to find Kaiten, they could probably discover which cell he was in at the processing desk.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Kala continued to move foward, guided by Narik. Hopefully, they would be able to find Kaiten soon, and either get him out of there, or end his suffering. Hopefully, he would still be the same man that had left the day or so ago, and not have been turned to the dark side.
