Balance? Phah! I think killer babes should be allowed to carry whatever they want into battle as long as they are wearing form-fitting armor. Korbin?

'Scuse me while I roll my tongue up and place it firmly back into my mouth.

As for the Holy Avenger question...thankfully it's not.  Those swords have a way of making paladins think they're indestructible.  So we've got that going for us...

lol.

Re: Welcome to our final new player

She does think she is indestructible armed with Apollos might.  Kami-Hono = Gods Fire.

I just saw that all the fighters are middle class.  Great we can banter in regards to tests of arms without insult, *she said parking the god issue for now.*

It doesn't appear we're in for much Orken action Havaland, unless they're taken on undead status.

Re: Welcome to our final new player

Havaland is a bit more pragmatic. Nothin' fancy jes' kill 'em.

The undead orcs are easy to spot, they smell even worse. I once read an article about a million years ago in a Dragon magazine about various "monster" zombies and let's hope we're not using those particular alternate rules!!

Anyway, there is a lot to be said about the standard fighter in these games. In the end, only the most powerful mages are more effective. I think I'm going to enjoy the game quite a bit, though I will apologize in advance for Havaland, he lacks uhm, "polish".

Stage is set

For the newer players, we will ramp up our game on or about 7/22 with the return of Koigan's player from vacation.

... and with Ireland censoring access to the Internet, starving its people, and defying the UN with their nuclear program.  Clearly, an ideal place to immigrate.  IMO, he should stay where he is.  At least he can be entertained by the California budget crisis.

Ireland? All this time I thought he was talking about immigrating to the U.S. from California!

Re: Stage is set

On a positive note, heard from friends that California is now officially in a draught with water rationing.  At this rate, sandworms and spice should soon appear throughout the landscape along with new laws making it illegal to cross dunes, a $45BB bond issue to elevate highways, and manditory prison sentences for reading Frank Herbert books.  All this in a bid to keep the California populace distracted from the massive turgid glop that is their State government.

On an equally positive note, I now enjoy the wonders of Lousiana politics.

IMO, only Italy has a more entertaining political system. :P

Taiwan's pretty good too...brawls break out at least once or twice per month in the assembly.

PS - Louisiana politics are a mess because its the last bastion of the French Napoleanic code.

...then again, we all know how great English Common Law is...

'sigh'...

I've seen those on TV.  Pretty ingenious!  It's the only reason that China won't invade.

Re: Stage is set

Stop ragging Louisianna politics! That's the best politicians money can buy. Nothing a complete voter revolt and a few lychin's wouldn't cure.

Re: Stage is set

Having briefly had the misfortune of living in the East Baton Rouge Parish (note: I did not say county) as a lad, I can assure you it will take far more than a few lynchings and a complete voter revolt to clean up La. politics.

I'm editing b/c I'll have to defer to Xandros on the scene knowledge of local politics.  He'll have far more in depth insight into the utter insanity than I could hope to.

Yeah.

Politics is a depressing topic when you get right down to it.  Time to change the subject...

When are we getting our debrief.

I'm out of the loop from today until the new computer arrives and is hooked up by the propeller heads via VPN access.  See you when I return which is hopefully before the dwarfs holiday in Ireland finishes.

Good luck with the new PC! It's only three days, but this particular Dwarf is going to have a LOT to do when he logs back in! Might be the end of the week before things get back to, er, normal.
