Me three! I couldn't tell you the last game I played here other than this one. I've played many fun ones over the years but they all eventually petered out.

Shoot I started a D&D game with some IRL friends and that died before a year was up (largely because two of said friends got divorced... from each other).

...It wasn't your fault was it? :P

Hahaha I don't *think* so! Of course the game was pretty doomed anyway. If they hadn't stopped it, scheduling conflicts would have, or our baby, or the 'rona.

Speaking of, not only did we make it through the year 2020, but we hit 2,021 posts. Bonus XP all around!

Congrats on graduating grad school! Is that the same as postgraduate in the UK (starting with taught Masters degree and then going all the way up to Doctorate)? What did you study?

...You can set up email notifications? I should definitely set that up. I'm much better at tracking things when they come at me vs having to remember to go out and find them.

I'm good though, nothing all that new in my life (relatively speaking... every day is its own new experience with a 16-month-old!).

Congrats, Toby! My wife just finished her grad degree as well. I've decided that's enough degrees for the family for a while, *way* too much work!

Oh, also, feel free to ask Baccho questions about the residents if you want. My OOC comment was just to keep you from asking what your characters would already know. After all these years *I* know how the world works, and I know what your characters would know about how the world works, but I have no idea if I ever told the players!

Oh, looking at it now, I think I did have email set up at one point, but quickly turned it back off because it sent me notifications for too much stuff. Now that I don't ever use the general forums I can probably just take those off my sticky and the notifications will go down to a dull roar.

Just the masters. In Architecture. And the one offer I have right now is 10k less than the job I had right before it in an industry I had no formal training in at all. -,-

The anxiety is basically gone, which is nice. There's also a really gorgeous house here which I am sorely, SORELY tempted to buy and flip.

So, many moons ago I knew where the next post was going to go but now due to some actions on your part (which will be made clear here soon; all good, I promise!) and some growth on my part (I've been watching a *lot* of GM-improvement videos on YouTube over the last couple of years) I'll need to go a slightly different way with it.

This normally shouldn't be a big deal (if we were doing this in person I'd just end the session and pick it up next week with the change), except my memory is already bad enough as it is, and our game is spread across 3 years! (You got out of the alien ship and back onto earth in June 2018!!). Part of the next scene was going to be exposition, but I don't remember what I told you and what I haven't.

So I'll need some time to go back over the threads and consult my notes to make the changes. This weekend is shaping up to be one where I'll have tons of time to do this, or none, but I won't really know which until I get there. Hopefully if I can't do it this weekend, I can this week.

Which is a really long way of saying: I haven't abandoned this, new post coming soon. :-p

Oooh, very nice. My friend lives sort of out in the middle of nowhere and his whole neighborhood is old houses like that. Every time we go to visit my wife and I muse about buying one and fixing it up... but the 90+ minute drive to work might be a killer!

Edit: Also I decided to be mean and add a cliffhanger while I type up the start of the next chapter. Enjoy 0:)
