Zane:
Almost every other word out of Jibril is a complaint, insult or threat.
Yup, that's Jibril. As I've stated before, Jibril is not trying to win a popularity contest here. And he doesn't have the highest charisma score. Not every character is likeable in a game, and Jibril is certainly in that category. I'm sorry for offending you.
Zane:
So jabbing a branch is aggression. Naw. Throwing a spear into someone. That's aggression. Thinking about it, that's aggrivation. Taking the post and acting as if the person did something directly or indirectly, that makes no sense.
I think you missed my point. Your
thoughts were aggressive, and because they are thoughts, they can't be addressed directly IC. The message is still clear to me as a player though. I received feedback on this from another player in this game several weeks ago about Jibril's thoughts, and it was a valid point, so I've tried to not do this with my character any longer.
Zane:
Ever think the character grunts/acts angrily towards someone because they are acting odd/rude/ect? Apparently not.
Of course, I did. That's why I addressed it. I think my quips back and forth with Krogan (and Fareeda and Lambrac at some level) illustrate that Jibril is adaptable...and can actually enjoy and respect the back and forth banter from another character. But I think it takes it to a whole different level when you threaten violence towards another character--thoughts or otherwise. I personally don't think that's cool, especially if you can find other ways to express your anger with Jibril (as other players have done). If you want to resolve it in roleplaying, we can.
Zane:
Apparently, the way Jib is towards others is totally ok. But insulting someone he doesn't know that is nothing like him is ok too...
Again, I'm sorry I offended you, but I'm trying to play true to my character's less than stellar personality. A few weeks ago, I brought a similar issue up with the GM and asked him how we could write Jibril's character out of the game. I was encouraged to stick it out and stay, despite my less than popular rating among several of the other players. I told him I would continue and see how things go. Seriously, if you feel like you would like to stay in this game without my participation, then I can consult with the GM again about writing his character out.
