Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I think I may recruit another player - even if Linni does come back I think things just move too slowly with small groups. With a bigger group of say 6, it wouldn't matter too much if one player went awol whereas now we're stuck waiting for people to post which is never a good situation.

I think the problem might be that Linni and Fareeda never had to apply - I knew them from other games and liked their characters enough to send a personal invite. Maybe this is why they are more passive and not as interested in the game as they never had to do much work? I don't know.

I will say however that just because I know them from other games, does not mean I will allow the game to suffer because of them. Abbas and Jibril were chosen from over 20 applicants and our recent addition Lambrac was chosen from among 12 - lots of the people I turned down put tonnes of effort into their RTJs and really wanted to play - I will happily offer them the places of people that clearly aren't as bothered.

Sorry if I'm seeming a bit anal, it just annoys me as I'm putting huge amounts of effort into this game and a couple of players are spoiling it.

I know Jibril had to deal with something similar in his game very recently and it's something that happens all the time on rpol and PBMB games in general - you just have to deal with it - and I will.

Anyway, I'll put out my tendrils to see if I can find another player and if Linni is gone I might bring in a couple. Lambrac and Jibril, I know you run other games on here so if you know any decent, active roleplayers, be sure to send them my way ;]

Cheers guys and bear with me, we're hitting a few hitches right now but once we get a solid group formed out this game is going to be awesome, have faith.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Still excited here.

I appreciate what it's like for the "good player collapse" at the start of a game so eager to run.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

It could be something as simple as computer troubles. My own office PC died yesterday. :( Anyway, I hope everyone gets back and this game gets going. I'm quite enjoying it so far, and I'm always eager for the next posting.

We could probably do with a tanking fighter, I guess, or a ranger-type to find food and make sure we don't get lost. :)

Lambrac is a rogue, of course, with a focus on traps and locks, less on social skills and such. He can speak Lantanese, Gnome and Alzhedo.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Abbas is the tank fighter approach - ranger branch-out is a possibility in a couple levels.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I've got something planned for the jungle guide/ranger role do not fear ;] I've had a few good applications, will hopefully have something sorted over the weekend.

I'll make an NPC post for Linni later today to keep the game moving and Lambrac, I'll have a new post for your solo thread as well.

I apologise that the game's a bit stop-start at the moment, we get into a good rhythm for a week and then come to a screeching halt! Hopefully this will be the last 'problem' and we can get some good continuity going.

Cheers.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I am also suffering from player drop-out problems in my own Calimport game.  I have a really good, core group of players, so I was surprised when my wizard character started going MIA in the past few weeks. I also noticed that he abandoned his own game that he has been DMing for a long time.  Anyway, I'm looking for a replacement player for his slot--primarily an arcanist type of character.  If anyone here is interested or knows of someone who is interested, my RTJ information is here:

link to a message in another game

Currently, my game is primarily a city-based game in Calimport and is heavy on political intrigue and roleplaying.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

It's annoying huh, but I guess it's the disadvantage of PBMB games - if someone loses steam it's all too easy to just disappear off the radar and forget about the trouble they cause. A single PM saying they can't play any more isn't too much to ask is it?

I think the worst part is finding a way to ease their characters out of the game without damaging the plot and the structure of the party - I don't want to have to keep NPCing Linni forever.

Good luck finding someone for yours though Jibril, I would apply myself but I'm already playing in a few and planning another FR game and don't want to burn myself out. I do lurk and follow your game however and I can say you've got a really good premise going with some great roleplay and would advise anyone to have a look!

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Everyone say hello to our new recruits Thaniel and Krogan! They will be playing an elven wizard and orc dragon shaman respectively.

Let's give them both a warm welcome and hope they don't die too soon, which, let's face it, they probably will. Err I mean won't, yes won't... ;]

To everyone else who applied, thankyou again, I wish I could accept everyone that RTJs as there were some really well thought out concepts and well written excerpts/backgrounds. Please feel free to lurk on the game however (all threads will be public) and wait for any future vacancies that might appear.

Cheers!

*tip of the hat*

Happy to be here all. The portrait gallery is all funky so I sadly don't have a picture yet. Happy to be part of the team!

Anyone know what's going on with the RPoL portraits? None of them seem to be working.

I'm seeing about 20% of the portraits in total, and I have for the past few days (sad day).

The neutrals and women seem to be ok.  Could be updates, or simply crashed area again.

Of course, I don't know when or how Krogan and Thaniel will be introduced, that was just the best response I could think of. Unless our DM is going for the "you all meet in a brothel" approach. ;)

Sorry all, been away for the Missus' birthday, will get an update in later today.

And as tempting as it was to make you all brothel employees, I have something different planned for Thaniel and Krogan. I won't say any more ;]

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

New rule: Enslaving of any kind has to be done in game! No out of game bribes, sweet-talking or sexual favours ;] haha - though of course the latter actions are perfectly acceptable when in character!

There will be opportunities to aquire various 'slaves' in the jungle if you really want one - though it will not be easy! ;]

Damn these portrait galleries going down is really annoying. Apparently it's just server 1 that houses all the male portraits that isn't working. Grr.
