Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Yep, we're screwed.

Just to check the positions: Abbas stepped back to C11, and the Assassins pressed forwards to row 12?

I'd throw an acid or an alchemist's fire, but I don't want to cause friendly fire with the splash damage. I'd tumble behind them, but I'm encumbered with equipment and (formerly) the chest. I'd feint, but that takes a standard action until I get Improved Feint, a long time away.

Hello Mandacaru. I'm DM BadCatMan at Realms Of Adventure.

Hi there!

I don't think I know what Realms of Adventure is. Ah, I see...you dress up funny on Long Island ;-)  Cool.

Mr. Weaver, sir.  Please feel free to correct any mistakes with my combat post.  I'm still a little new to your style and level of detail.

Thanks.

Yay, XP. I've been enjoying this game quite well so far.

Huh? No, it's a Forgotten Realms community here on RPoL, using D&D 3.5. So, any one of you fine players here want to be a DM? Pretty please? :)

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I don't have the energy to be a DM for another game.  Sorry.

I thinks "Realms of Adventure" is also a LARP out in the NY area.   The name rings a bell.
Of course, my memory is fuzzy about such things.

I do SCA, but I've never gotten around to trying out a LARP.

I presume that's what you're in.

(if not, then please pardon the presumption.)

I've been invited, even when I lived in Boston for a while, but never got around to trying it.

Sounds fun, I have to admit.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

The Boston area is the place to LARP, tons of games in the area. If you find the right game, its a blast.

I lived there for about ten years and did my best table top gaming there.  It's a gamer's paradise, that's for sure.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Not to be a rules monger, but there is a limit to the amount of free speech you can take in a round before it becomes a standard action. I believe it is a sentence or two.  I know it helps with roleplaying, but when I DM, I allow a limit to the amount of speech during combat.  How does the Thread-Weaver handle this?

*laughs*  I'll admit, I was kind of thinking the same thing.

Ok, I'll be good.  *grins*

If you'd like, Weaver, you can consider our "conversation" to be our banter for the next few rounds.

I'm easy.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I usually allow speech as long as it doesn't effect combat (say, talking about tactics, HP, etc) in the online games I run simply because otherwise post length goes way down during combat and people fall into the one-line posts because they have nothing to write about. *Shrug* If weaver would rather I be less verbose, I'll gladly tone it down.

I imagine such conversations to just kind of be going on above the din of battle over the course of many rounds - think, the conversations that Legolas and Gimli have while slicing orc after orc, etc...

I don't picture Thaniel just standing there mouth agape while a battle goes on around him, twiddling his fingers as he waxes poetic. I picture him contributing just as much as the next guy, though having a quite pleasant conversation while doing so.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

True. I see Krogan having enough fun to be "bantering' throughout the fight.  But even Gimli and Legolas limited themselves to mostly "one-liners" if memory served.

I'll try to keep my remarks to a sentence or two per combat round.   Pending on Weaver's ruling, of course.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I'm not going to be too heavy handed, obviously one round is six seconds and a whole conversation couldn't take place in that time, however this is pbp and it's impossible to conduct a game in real time. The conversation would take place over a number of rounds.

I will allow conversations, but try not to write essays :] a few sentences of speech along with the rounds isn't going to hurt.

Update will be up later today.
