Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Initiative 20, for all the good it does me. :( But as my Dex score is effectively zero, that would drop to 13.

Nice work. But are the trees really so densely packed? It looks like there's no escape. :(

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Sorry should have added to the key:

Squares are 5/5 ft. Squares with trees in can be moved through at half movement speed and not charged through. When moving diagonally treat the first diagonal as 5ft, the second as 10ft, third as 5ft and so on.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Just learned Maptool myself for a game I'm running and I have to say it works like a charm. It's easy to pick up too; I used the video tutorial on the site and that demonstrated most things.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Yea I can get it to work alright, it's just getting hold of extra image libraries that's posing a problem on a mac. Most of the torrents/downloads are designed for windows. Hopefully I'll be bringing my PC to our new flat soon so should get it going soon.

Do what I do: Look up images online that can fit what you need. I've done it in the past (haven't needed a map for a while though) and works in a pinch.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Since trying to outrun skeletons with a full grown man under my arm might not work, I'll change my action if I can.   Instead of trying to drag Lambrac out of the clearing, the appearance of the skeletons will make Krogan stand guard over the frozen man (perhaps Krogan will knock him to the ground, to make him less of a target), drawing his weapon.

Of course, if his first action has to be going over there to Lambrac's side in the first place, that's find, but I'd like to draw my weapon and shield, to better defend my frozen comrade.

Also, my Dragon Aura let's all friends within 30' have a +2 on Initiative checks.
(of course, I forgot to add that to mine as well, but oh well.)

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I'm afraid both actions must be declared in your IC post, putting them here won't help so I'm afraid it's too late for auras etc. The standard action for those with init 15+ was a bonus action before the skeletons appeared. Krogan begins the combat with Lambrac held and ready to drag as described in my post. If you wish to release him and draw weapons instead you will need to use your first actual turn to do that - luckily you are first to act well before the skeletons do.

Feel free to make your move.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I figured most would be. If it starts slowing combat down I'll have to insist everyone just post moves straight away.

Still need Asha, Linni and Krogan to post moves as they come before the skeletons. Have until tomorrow before I NPC you.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Someone could push me prone. That would give me +4 AC vs ranged attacks.

Hmm. As a Factotum, all my spells are SLAs which I can cast while paralysed (no verbal, somatic or material components). But I only have a single cantrip, and I prepared prestidigitation. :(

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Well my main form of attack is a bow so I won't be much help here. Thankfully, Yaotl possesses a great deal more offensive umph than I do.

In reply to Lambrac (msg #571):

My apologies.   That was my original intent, but I started thinking that you'd be at an even bigger disadvantage if it wore off.    Perhaps I overthought it, though.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

As I said to Abbas, Asha's ineffective bow attack would make those of you without bludgeoning weapons realise the skeletons are fairly impervious to piercing/slashing. You can use the pommels, flat edges etc. of your weapons to improvise a bludgeoning attack at -4 to attack and 1d4 dmg medium (1d3 small, 1d6 large). There is also a 5% chance you will break the weapon by using it in the incorrect manner if you make contact (i.e. hit AC 11 and beat touch AC) if you beat AC 11, roll d100 and rolls of 1-5 equal a break and make the weapon useless until fixed.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Well, I'm glad I got myself a club. :) (Bought in rebuild, made in post #155.)

That's a new house-rule. I'd have thought the regular nonlethal damage rule would be sufficient: nonlethal damage from an axe's flat side is essentially bludgeoning damage.

Blunt parts of weapons are more commonly used than it seems: the flat of the blade, the back edge of a sword, even holding it by the blade and swinging the pommel or guard (chainmail gauntlets may be required).

Never fear, it will take a while and I hope you all live through the many rounds but my magic missile wand will slowly wear them down while you punch up these skeletons.

And while 5% may sound low, with the number of attacks that could be anticipated in just this fight, it's not a risk one can take out here.

Magic missle 'em down.  I'll shield wall.

Just waiting on Fareeda - I'm out tonight and will likely be incapacitated for much of the morning so she has until later on tomorrow before I'll step in and NPC.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

New round update tonight! I fear we have lost Fareeda the 3rd - a shame as I played with her player in another game and she was a solid player and was built for the flirty type. I think Fareeda is a character who brings something different to the group and adds more social interaction between characters so I think she's worth finding a replacement for, what do you guys think?

I did have someone waiting for a spot, I'll see if they're still interested.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I've never been a fan of needing to replace specific characters, even one as interesting as Fareeda.   if someone wanted to bring in an original one, I'd be okay with that.
