"Don't get all upset, most of what I can do is channel dead musician's talents. I can't really do much beyond that, unless you want the King's secret fried banana recipe. Poor man never met a fried food he didn't like." She pinched off the cigar and ground it out on her boot before looking to the group of men with her.

"So, ya'll ready to help me convince a sociologist that I need to look through 80 something years worth of newsprint, journals, notebooks and music memorabilia for the location of a supposed encounter with the Devil by on Robert Johnson on some cross roads in the Deep South that might not even exist anymore?"

Lewis shrugs. "Sure.  Is the area we have to look for this information restricted or something?" Assuming that was the case Lewis pulls his iphone out of his back pack and does a quick search bringing up a picture of Philip L. Dubois, UNCC's Chancellor.

"Who's this sociologist?" Ben asked, looking around at the passing students.

He kept a wary eye... maybe he was just paranoid, but all this supernatural mumbo-jumbo just kept him in a state of perpetual willies. Ben was fine when it was a supervillian spouting off some inane speech about how he was going to rule the world or rob a bank or the like. But, hell hounds that could pass through walls and were only affected by salt and sorcerers who used the instrument of a dead man to gain power and said dead man having made a proverbial deal with some, or even the, devil... way out of the comfort zone.

"He's an old friend of my, Dr. Walter Grimes. He's quirky but you'll get along with him. Just don't bring up the spandex events of the last night, he's got all sorts of theories about 'fortean archetypes' and such." She grins as she leads the way.

Re: [Kain] Ep 1 Act 2: Black Magic Woman

Several minutes later, the team is in a small cramped office that is literally buried under news papers, journals, bundles of printed papers, old vinyl records and several dusty but clearly cherished musical instruments.

Dr. Grimes is a small man of about five feet tall with a bushy black beard that seems to fit with his tweed jacket and absentminded professor's aura.

"Jennifer..you brought..friends." He says with a broad grin to the men that followed her in. "You said you needed to know something about a blues man?"

The Yeoman prowls the library shelves like the expert hunter that he is. Once found however he passes off possibly important tomes to the more academically inclined.

Ben searched through the archives, but felt uncomfortable doing most of it. He was used to Google, databases, computers... he'd thought this kind of research had gone the way of the dodo. Still, he did what he could and passed on what he found.

Max walked about at normal speed picking up books as he went. When he picked up a book, he blurred though the pages at speeds only he and that snot nosed Slipstream brat could read.

Re: [Kain] Ep 1 Act 2: Black Magic Woman

Hours pass as the heroes move through the old archive of the library with the focus on one piece of blues folk lore that might give them a hint to where the reputed 'bargain' between Robert Johnson and the Devil went down.

All in all it was a frustrating expedition through the stacks. For Max, he had to slow down occasionally, flipping though the old books carefully to keep them from exploding in tatters and old faded ink. Still, his ability to operate at speed, helped him thumb through them quickly. For Yeoman and the others it was flipping though the books and trying to follow up on the trail that the senior hero found.

Around two in the afternoon, Yeoman found an old record of a new deal archivist who was interviewing one of the singer's peers. It was a long drawn out record, scratchy and distorted but it mentions something tangible.

The Aldridge Plantation in Mississippi, a small crossroad deep in the abandoned estate.

Question was: How do they get there before midnight.

"Found it...Damn!.. It's in Mississippi."

He handed the book off to someone else so that he wouldn't destroy it in a fit of anger.

"Southern Missippi by midnight...Jesus..."

"Backwoods, off the beaten path deep in the country Southern Mississippi." Jennifer says as she takes the book. "The Aldridge's weren't the most progressive family, before the civil war or after. It's safe to say that county hasn't moved much further since. There are parts of that area where power and sewage still aren't available. Very... rustic."

Frowning, Ben took a look at the book over LaFourche's shoulder.

"Well, since I can't fly us all there, you wouldn't happen to know a mystic ritual or some such that would send us there, would ya? Then again, there's always the grabbing a private flight approach..."

"Oh Oh!" Lewis raises his hand. "What if I turn into a giant kite with like a basket or something.  Max could pull us there?"

He thinks.  "Well, I mean you'd probably have to slow down a little so we didn't all burst into flames.  And you would have to be pretty good at flying kites.. And it would be slower than taking a plane.  So um. Lets eighty six that plan." He shrugs

Max nearly did a spit take of Dr, Pepper.

"On that note lets 86 all plan's that involve the 67 year old man with myth tech injection in his knees every 3 to 4 months running to Mississippi carrying a giant Stretch Armstrong who's hauling a human lightning rod, a line backer with a bow and arrow, and the collective talent of every rockstar in history."

The beeping is easily tracked to a computer on the far side of the small archive annex. A computer with a screen displaying a logo of a cartoon face peeking over a brick wall with the caption 'Hit Any Key to continue'.

Just to one side of the keyboard is an additional keyboard slipped into it's USB connection. One key. One large RED key. Titled 'Any'.

It doesnt matter who it is or what there plan is, it always ends with me having to run around and around in a circle waiting for Bobby-Sue Brilliant to step out of there bulletproof bubble and grace me with a monolougue."

Max stops talking and looks over seeing that Impossible is staring at him.
