Summary of the Story

Chapter 01
----------
Four very young Triplefang adults, Holly, Snow, Glumr, and Mord are sent off by the village Elderess Elana to retrieve an idol stolen from Pelor's temple of Goldenpoint.  They hunt down mischievous members of the Beasttamer clan.  Our heroes give them a good non-lethal beating, and return the idol to Goldenpoint.

Chapter 02
----------
At Goldenpoint our heroes learn that Arkus, the temple's champion responded to a plea for help and hasn't returned.  This is why the champion was not around to handle the idol snatchers.  Our heroes join up with a pair of Triplefang archers named Rolf and Vidar, and a strange floating musical eye before reaching the Triplefang village of Gollag in search of Arkus.  They discover the village abandoned and all but destroyed.  They follow the attackers' track back to a magical portal and surprise a small band of Troglodytes carrying a magical copper plate that opens the portal.

On the other side is a strange land of sand and heat.  Our heroes journey to a pyramid where they find and rescue Arkus.  They also make off with more riches than any of them has ever seen before, enough to buy horses!  Upon returning Arkus to Goldenpoint the grateful champion tells the young Triplefang adventurers about a power magic item - The Tome of Legends.

Chapter 03
----------
Our heroes journey to the incredible walled fortress city of Rankor Heights, capital of the rival clan Ferisedan, to speak to their leader, Proctor Lemon Ferisedan.  The proctor is in possession of The Tome of Legends, but he doesn't know what it does or how to work it.  He offers to sell it to the Triplefang for 10,000 gold pieces.  Our heroes boggle at the unimaginable sum, but set about looking for ways to earn gold.

The Proctor offers them a bounty on the heads of bugbears.  The church of Pelor tells them of a priest who has been lost in a haunted tower full of treasure.  They also learn about valuable mechanical golems from ages long past hidden away in dwarven tunnels.  But they decide to delay these other quests and help the harpers retrieve a priceless stolen song book.  The warrior Farden Triplefang joins our heroes to protect the naive youngsters from the many dangers of the world.

Summary of the Story

Chapter 04
----------
Jacob is a harper.  He hadn't actually stolen Eburacon's priceless songbook, but had talked the harpers into giving it to him.  Now he was off to sell it to the Empire.  Our heroes track him and his crew to the Triplefang village of Crim.  There they meet up with Snow's mentor Leonardo.  Leonardo has a student/spy in Jacob's group who hasn't reported recently.  In exchange for telling them where Jacob is hiding out he asks them to bring his spy back to him, by force if necessary.

Jacob is one step ahead of the young Triplefang adventurers and sets an expert ambush.  They soundly defeat our heroes and escape.

Chapter 05
----------
Snow retires from the dangerous and annoying adventuring life.  The party recruit siblings Israth and Giselle Triplefang just to help recover the songbook.  This time instead of facing the incredibly crafty and well prepared Jacob they go to Silvergate, wait for Jacob to sell the book, and steal it back from the Empire merchant who bought it.  Our heroes take the songbook back to The Harpers for their reward.

Summary of the Story

Chapter 06
----------
In their quest for more gold, our heroes decide to go after the treasure in The Specter Tower of Sowell, but first they will need weapon capable of battling the ethereal undead that haunt the tower.  For this they consult the enchantress Coal Triplefang.  She agrees to enchant their weapons at cost if they gather rare ingredients she doesn't have and stop her run-away magically animated cookie.  After much frustration, the Triplefang put an end to the cookie's rampage and head to the dwarven stronghold of Sloss Hinterplatz in search of moonstone and quicksilver.

On the way north the party runs into the demon Xyxeryx who kidnaps Holly and a small nomad girl.  Holly agrees to fetch an item for the demon in exchange for the child's life.  With a portal plate provided by the demon and a giant silvery spider to guide them our heroes travel through another magical portal to a dwarven forge.

Chapter 07
----------
Our heroes steal the helmet Xyxeryx demanded plus a few other weapons and goodies.  They hand the helmet over to the demon and he rewards them with a dimensional crossbow.  After this sidetrack, our heroes continue to the dwarven stronghold.  They buy and sell weapons to prepare for the enchantments and pick have enough money left over to buy plenty of moonstone and quicksilver.  One of the items they took from the forge turns out to be a phylactery holding the soul of a great dwarf from ages ago.  They chose not to get involved in a plot to nab a gem from the Halls of the Dead and bring this dwarven hero back to life.  Instead they help Favrick the Superior put on a spectacular entrance to the colosseum.

Unnature rears its ugly head when our heroes return to Pliffa, the village near Coal's tower.  A were-creature and twisted wildcats have killed several villagers.  It's the work of followers of the slumbering and almost forgotten Elder God of Krammishir.

Coal enchants weapons for Holly, Glumr, and Farden.  Now they stand a chance against the undead horrors of The Tower of Sowell.

Summary of the Story

Chapter 8
---------
Tales told of a fabulous treasure hoard in a haunted tower of the east shore well south of Trellor.  None who ventured to the disappearing island where the tower resides ever returned.  This includes Brother Howe, a priest of Pelor who went to the tower not for the treasure but to recover the Celestial Needle, an artifact that could be used for healing or necromancy.

Our heroes set of to the tower.  Once inside they witness 5 strange spectral visions from the past showing the rise and fall of Kelney and Augustine Sowell and the events that eventually led to the destruction of the tower, trapping it between our world and the spirit realm.  Using their newly enchanted weapons they fight both high and low forms of undead.  They also solve a puzzle to retrieve the celestial needle.  In doing so the young Triplefang adventurers release the spirit of Augustine Sowell.  Sunna also suffers a gruesome injury at the hands of a wraith.  Even though Holly is able to save her life, her health suffers greatly.  In the depths of the tower the insane spirit of Kelney Sowell awaits them.  Kelney and her minions roundly trash our heroes until Augustine's spirit arrives. he helps convince Kelney to leave this accursed place and enjoy their newfound freedom.  The party gathers up heaps of treasure.  Will it be enough to buy the Tome of Legends?

Chapter 9
---------
Adiel joins the group and helps them identify, appraise, and sell enough loot to put the party's coffers over 10,000 pieces of gold.  Uninterested in becoming a legend, Farden takes his cut of the riches and wishes them farewell.  Mord joins our heroes, adding much needed offensive punch.

While in Crim goblin assassins cripple and nearly kill Tora Triplefang, the brilliant leader of the southern defense.  Holly and Sunna are barley able to save her life.  They join up with a unit of Tora's small army to hunt down the goblins responsible.  In three battles our heroes defeat the warband of goblins infantry, assassins, and dire wolf riders, lead by a charismatic bugbear.

With the south secure for now, the Triplefang heroes make their way once again to Rankor Heights.  They trade The Celestial Needle to the preist of pelor in exchange for two rituals.  One ritual restores Sunna's health.  The second places Scottfard Ferisedan's spirit back into a human body after a curse has long trapped in in a strange floating eye form.

Our heroes pay Proctor Limon Ferisedan 10,000 gold and he gives them the book.  Just outside the walls of the city, one by one, our heroes sign their names in the tome and become legends!  Sadly, Glumr discovers the fickle magic of the Tome of Legends will not allow him to sign.  Dejected, he leaves the group.
