Public Service Announcement

Dave asked about RPOL notifications and I looked into this and here's what I found. Rather than having to check RPOL daily you can set up email notifications. In your 'User Preferences' there is an 'Email Notification' option where you can have notificatins go to the email you designate along with how often you wish to get them. The one caveat is that you won't get the actual message only a notification that there is a new message.

There are also a variety of feed options as well including RSS feeds if that is something of interest to you. It is also in your User Preferences under RDF / RSS / Atom Feeds. This option seems like it would send you the message data but I haven't tried it so I don't really know for sure.

Go ahead and update your characters here on rpol. Add a description and character picture even if it's different from what you have already. Any questions please ask. Character specific questions should be done through Private Messages but general questions or questions that may apply to everyone can be done here or in a specific thread if appropriate.

Just posting an early game reminder that we are scheduled to game next Saturday 2/8 from 6-9pm. Please try to be prompt and if you are running more than 10 minutes late or can't make it please send a message (email or post here) or call. You don't even have to give a reason. I'm not here to judge I'm just trying to manage the game for everybody.

On a related note. If folks do want to do dinner before the game, I am open to that with the caveat of doing it *before* the game meaning before 6pm. My suggestion would be for folks to arrive at 5pm instead of 6pm. I am not planning on organizing dinner so I'm going to leave that to you folks to decide and organize. You can use this thread if you wish or whatever means of communication you like to discuss.

It's my intention to get Vern's PC a background intro as well as put everybody's tasks in to that thread but have it private for each pc this week.

I still prefer we all gather together in-person as nothing really beats that table top gaming dynamic. That said, I'm open to trying alternate methods when someone can't make it due to sickness or weather for example.

I signed up for a free account and I'm willing to try if anybody is interested. The one main caveat with the free account is that we can only do an unlimited connection with 1 person to 1 person. The multiperson connection I believe is limited to 40 minutes. Though you could start another 40 minute connection right after. It might be a bit tedious for multiplayer that way. And I'm not planning to spend money on a monthly subscription for something that only might get used. At that point, it probably would be better to take a look at some of the online rpg gaming sites. But I digress.

Character Sheet:

I posted the Pathfinder Character Sheet as part of the 1st post in the Pathfinder 1E - Rise of the Runelords thread. If you click 'quote' in that first post, you can select & highlight the code for the character sheet, next copy (ex. Ctrl-C) and then edit your character sheet and past it in there. You should already have a copy of the character sheet in your character sheet but if for some reason you delete it you can use the above method to get it again. The starting blank character sheet that is. You can 'cancel' out of the post you originally click 'quote' for. You may also want to open up 2 rpol windows, 1 for grabbing the character sheet code, and another with your character sheet window up to make the process easier. Also see ScratchPad below.


ScratchPad:

The ScratchPad at the top left is for you to use as you wish. Only you can see what is in it. I have used the ScratchPad for many things but 1 good use is as a character sheet backup. Before editing a character sheet I copy my current character sheet into the ScratchPad. That way, if I mess up editing my character sheet I can always restore it to the last 'good' copy rather than having to start from the very beginning.


Private Message:

You may also use the Private Message functionality to post versions of your character sheet. I think you can Private Message yourself but if not you can select Private Message to GM and edit the subject for the post saying it is for saving your character sheet. You may private message each other but the GM can see these messages and in fact is responsible for monitoring them. All private messages are also subject to rpol posting policy so please keep that in mind.

Ok. Everyone has a list of tasks for their pc in the appropriately named thread. Only you character will be able to see his or her tasks. If you wish to share your tasks with others, that's up to you.

Additional tasks may be added. The purpose of these tasks is to add flavor and possible side quests. They aren't meant to be all completed by level 2 and it may be possible that some may not get completed for some reason or other. But the goal is to complete as many as possible. Completing tasks will result in benefits for your pc. So there is that.

Also, perhaps I didn't make this clear but the OOC thread especially is everyone's thread. You should feel free and are welcomed to post here about anything game related or otherwise subject to rpol posting policy. Testing to see if this npc still has character portrait. It seems to have vanished for some reason.

Looks like it depends on which browser I use. Now I see it with Google Chrome. The Avast browser appears to block images for some reason.

Well, this is a bit of a pickle in that we can't get both Andrew & Vern on a common date. I'm glad we got at least 3 players on multiple dates but I don't want to make a biased decision either. So, to be honest I'm not sure what the best answer is but here's what I'm currently thinking and you guys can let me know what you think.

1) Have you both (Andrew & Vern) do a rpol d20 roll off and whoever gets the higher roll wins the game slot they can make

2) We could potentially play both on 3/14 & 3/28 so both of you would have a chance to play this month

3) Some other idea that is agreeable to everyone
