Yaro:
Yaro gladly takes the offered food but before he stuffs it into his face he leans forward to look at the other mans vomit and comments, "I do believe he was taller."

Balthazar gives him a friendly slap on the back and says, "You're going to fit in just fine in this group, lad."

Re: Chapter 2 a summoning

As Balthazar slaps Yaro on the back the lock to the other cell gives way to Loukas's advances and the door like the other swings open of it's own accord. Miroslav is the first to go through. He nudges the man sitting crosslegged in the center of the floor with his boot. He gets no response...it is clear that the man is alive though but in some sort of trance or possibly even under a spell.

Having some experience with meditative practice, Loukas pauses and observes the man as Miroslav prods him...

"Yes... This is how he has kept himself alive. He has placed himself in this state. His body is in harmony and could remain so for a very, very long time. I am unsure how to wake him, but we ought to be careful as he might come out of it fighting, if he is not actually hearing us speak right now."

"We can wait for him a while but if he does not move soon we must decide to leave him or pick him up and take him. I opt for the first choice since we have a job to do and have no idea if an when he will wake."

Re: Chapter 2 a summoning

As Loukas steps forward the old man speaks in perfect but heavily accented Greek. His eyes remain closed, his posture does not change, “ah you are all here no? Including your new companion? And here I am running late”, he pauses to think,”no not late, you are ahead of time. One step in front of fate, through your own choices you arrive where fate would drive you. Little less could be expected of such heroes. Let me see you.”

One twinkling blue eye opens from beneath a snow white tangle of eye brow.

Yes I see you now. All faces that should be expected but there are faces missing that you wish should be here with you now, take heart we will all be with those we miss one day when our paths meet once more.

But who is here now.

The Men of the North, as hard and decisive as the cold steel they would take to their enemies. Many more shall fall to your skill and great heart, many more honours and riches to be won.

The Men of the South, cloaked in shadows, armed with mystery and guile to thwart your foes. Many more secrets are yours to uncover, I shall say no more and respect the cover you both weave.

The Horse Lord, dashing and brave, though you would rather be riding on the plains this path will lead there soon enough and then the winds will fill with your people’s songs about you and all you care for.

The One who has travelled furthest, you have already made a place for yourself amongst a world alien to you. You have a great deal further to go but then  you did not think you’re ultimate prize would be so easily reached?

And finally the Rose surrounded by the sharpest of thorns, yet sharper and more deadly is she. Perhaps you do not yet realise but in your heart you know your truth and fate shall hold no sway over you, trust your heart.

Now dear please help an old man to his feet, my mind is well enough but the body has seen too many snows.”

Loukas pauses. That the man spoke was less surprising than what he said. A wise man? He speaks as if he knows something of each of us, but his words are vague. Perhaps he is simply a clever observer...?

His final words seemed to be for Dyanna. Loukas interpreted the "dear" to be meant for her and he he moved no closer, instead standing ready for a surprise movement from the man. One who speaks in mysteries may be intentionally hiding as much as he accuses of others of hiding.

Despite his distrust the Brother of Veles speaks respectfully, "Greetings. How have come to be here?"

Re: Chapter 2 a summoning

The old man takes the offered hand and with a great sigh rises to his feet. He is stooped with age and would seam to have lived a hard life.

"Young Master, I was swept here by the eddies of chance just in time to meet you. The lord of this place, now dispatched, (well done by the way) saw fit to offer me this comfortable room, I was happy enough to await your arrival."

He stops his talk for a time to catch his breath.

"As to me, I am but a humble servant with perhaps less youth in my bones than is comfortable. Once I have warmed up I can move quickly enough so if you are all amicable I would have our paths lead in the same direction for a time at least. I am quite interested to discover the secrets of the castle's former master and perhaps undo some of his mischief. The task you all attend to converges with that intent no?"

The old man looks deep into the faithful eyes of the Frankish Knight and for an instant Jean sees the cares of the world reflected back at him. With a shrug and brief melancholic smile the old mans demeanor shifts and a friendly sincere reply is given, "There young man is a very deep question, it is for beings far wiser than myself to give answer to it."

"Greetings grandfather. I was in the cell across from you. It is good to put a face to the mumbling and chanting I have heard." Yaro says with a slight bow toward Cuivi.

he looks the older man up and down for a second then says "Surely you have some gear stowed away here as well. Perhaps it is being stored where mine is."

Loukas takes a water skin out of his pack and offers it to the man, "It seems you were in your trance for quite a while, perhaps some water might help refresh your formerly resting bones. We are in no rush... I suspect that you have heard our introductions to Yaro, but we still do not know what you call yourself."

Re: Chapter 2 a summoning

"Ahh, Veteema’s fair drink”, The old man gratefully sips the offered water.

“I thank you both for your concern; it has been many passings of the seasons since anyone bothered with my name. If I recall correctly I went by the name Čuivi. I must confess until I spoke to you all I was not conscious to this world. Only now do I realise I stand before you bereft of the few trinkets my old foolish heart holds dear. So yes please let us search for those few things taken that give us comfort.”

He places a hand on the archers broad shoulder and looks up at him, “Yarro, by your looks I would say there is old blood in your veins, you certainly display the bravado. Take council from an old man, when silence comes and you remember them more clearly take time to grieve for your departed friends.”

Re: Chapter 2 a summoning

Miroslav looks to the man who calls himself Čuivi and says..."I am Miroslav...we have been all through the upper portion of the keep, the only place we have yet to explore is yonder door at the end of this hall. Let us hope yours and the archers gear is stored within."

He begins to walk towards the end of the hall brazier in hand...."Loukas, are you ready for another door?"

Čuivi is pronounced with a 'ch' at the begining. rpol software does not allow for special characters in character names or else it would be reflected there. No need to figure out how to make the mark or copy and paste it every time you need to say the name...after all this game is played all in our heads:)

After Cuivi has drunk his fill Loukas takes the skin back. Moving with unsettling speed despite the fact that he does not seem to be running he catches up to Miroslav near the next door. "Doors are never a problem... Locks? Another conversation.

Loukas makes short work of this lock as well. Simple locking mechanisms...clearly Vikhor had no fear of anyone breaking in, just keeping the doors locked from the outside.

Miroslav pushes the door open and holds the brazier high, illuminating the room.

The room is 20' by 20' and clearly the repository for the gear from Vikhors victims and there must have been many since the room is piled high with weapons armor and equipment.

Looking back at the party as he enters the room, "Well... If our new friends are unable to find their possessions they certainly ought to be able to find suitable replacement gear."

Pausing for only a second as if struck by a thought he giggles somewhat and mumbles before moving to assist the stock taking, "Speaking of which..."

Cuivi chuckles, "It has also been a long time since anyone bothered to touch THAT part of me. Though I must admit in my youth when chance permitted it was normally I doing the touching. I think it may do my heart good to abide a while in the company of such youthful exuberance."

The old man sits once more,"I should be of little use sorting through these stolen items come master mage, sit with me a while and if you care tell me a little of your philosophy. The more physical of our friends shall call you if they need your discerning eye to appraise a unfathomable antique."

Yaro steps into the room and smiles. He makes a beeline for his bow and quiver as well as longsword and dagger. He also picks up one of the suits of studded leather armor.

"Some of my gear does not seem to be here, must have been too mundane for  Djinni to keep lying around."

He quickly pulls his armor on and gears up in case tehre is a need for combat yet here in the keep.
