Re: RP PUBLIC: The Valley of Ten Towers
Aesin
There were several systemarchs, some showing more metallic, robotic features than others, wandering about. None of them, however, resembled his friend.
"Thank you for giving your patronage to Neohermesseus Messaging."
Max
"Very well," said Clavius. "Until I see you again, travel well. Don't do anything rash or hasty without consulting me."
Ruse
QUESTION: 'What is the Eye of Ra?'
ANSWER: The Eye of Ra is the greatest tracking and assassination creature the Conclave has access to. Created by the few remaining Sorcerers of Alkan (a Type I species under Conclave Law and part of the Council), it is a powerful spirit made manifest within gold. The spirit, aided by Earthborn tracking, surveillance, information and 'wave technology, can hunt any target and destroy any foe. It is much feared among the black occult circles of the Realm Supernatural, as it is said the Eye takes especial interest in devouring rogue magicians.
Both Max and Clavius are within the Barracks of the Third Point.
Ruse soon finds himself back outside the Barracks, eyed suspiciously by the soldiers guarding out front. As he wanders over, however, there is a crack of light (forbidden volcanoes - a betrayal - rebellion - casinos - lights everywhere - urban warfare, god of chance) and something is thrown into existence. It has the body of a dragon, with feathered wings, and the face of a chicken, scaled lightly. From Ruse's readings, he recognized the creature as a cockatrice.. a being that killed with it's gaze!
The Cockatrice screeched, glared at a handful of soldiers, and they froze, forever trapped in stone. It's back was turned to Ruse.
Armanthor
(repeat)
"Ah," said the God, writing it down. "Now, are you a criminal - have you committed any crimes in the past, or plan to in the future?"
Msonus
"Well.. Msonus," said the Raven, "Msonus was known as the Great Architect in the Age of Leagues, back when these things.." his wings seemed to gesture towards a nearby Tower, "Were first made. They say he was the one who designed them, while the Gods they were designed for - each an ally, if not exactly a friend, of Msonus - built them out of cold iron. The ancient sympathetic magic needed that, see. Ancient magic was something Msonus was good at."
He seemed to blink, dug around in the dirt for a worm, gave up.
"He built eleven of them. Ten for his allies, one for himself. They would rule over the Realm together, in the name of truth.. somewhere along, of course, there was a falling out, and some say Msonus was killed. Others think he fled to a far-off location and started his own cult, the Architects of Mson. Some people believe he was corrupted by Osiris-Ra and was forcibly executed and then banished. The story isn't clear. I wasn't around then.. born after and later.."
He looked Msonus square in the eye.
"Regardless, the Eleventh Tower was destroyed and supposedly lost. Only a chosen few can even see it. Most think it a silly myth, but here we are, at the Eleventh Tower - or what's left of it. The fact that we're talking, the strange things you say, and your appearance almost convinces me that you're the reincarnation of the Great Architect himself.."
Reiuji
"Ah," said Marcus, his heart obviously broken. "I am sorry.. it's just.. impulse strikes.. oh, forgive me."
Tears welled up in his eyes.
Desafon
"Ah, an honorable customer," said the shopkeeper favorably, "Is my favourite kind. Domoni of Blades, two stalls down, will meet all your needs nicely. Tell him Braver sent him.. he'll be sure to give you a discount. As for the shipment, is it possible to get, say.. hmm.. five hundred lengths of wood? I'll then weigh them and pay you."
