Re: (Anik) The Lesser Bounty

There was a simple click, the whirring of machinery, and then a voice booming through the small room, somehow metallic and deeply feminine: Welcome, Lord of Craft. The once-dimmed terminals taking stock of Bounty had lit up, a dazzling array of colours and light. The voice returned, now: Lord of Craft, would you care to open the Main Entrance?

Re: (Anik) The Lesser Bounty

There are seven calculation-machines in the room, each one designed to gather and regulate information regarding Bounty. The first mapped and analyzed the topographical and meteorological features of Bounty, reading fine; the second mapped the levels of various minerals and chemicals within Bounty's atmosphere, soil and waters, reading fne; the third mapped the native population of Bounty, as well as the flora and fauna patterns, reading mostly fine; the fourth was a security terminal, confirming that the Workshop hadn't been accessed in close to a thousand years, and that the regulatory and scanning options of the terminal had shut down; the fifth mapped the presence of Divine activity within Bounty, reading fine; the sixth mapped, simply by having access to Anik's theoelectromagnetic field, the fall, rise, parabiological and mystical signs surrounding Anik, reading fine.

The seventh, rather bizarrely - using a powerful fusion of divination and electronics - mapped currents of belief and heresy as well as, perhaps more importantly, the various static and ever-shifting magical forces flowing throughout Bounty. The streaks of cold blue representing a sudden vacuum within Bounty did not, alas, read fine.

Re: (Anik) The Lesser Bounty

"Pause the Countdown for opening the workshop." He commanded the computer. First he went over to one that could scan the workshop. He scanned it all... wanting to know everything he could about it before hand.

Then going back over to the station he deepened his Legend to learn when the vacuums began appearing, and tried to feel if there was anything he could do about it from this terminal, and if not where. If Legend-ing didn't work... he asked the computer.

After getting the information he paused for a moment feeling the Tree-time. "Shit, shit, shit! I don't have time for this! Set the countdown to 3 minutes." That would give him more than enough time to get back up there. He then turned and shot back up through the water in his air-bubble he had constantly around him.

He made sure the traveling monk looking architect woman was still there and then waited for the opening, his mind already creating and improving his intended project.

Re: (Anik) The Lesser Bounty

Countdown paused at - 7:45.

The scans routinely failed when asked to monitor the workshop. The innocent explanation given by the terminal is that certain technical issues had occurred within the workshop itself. This was maddeningly vague.

The second machine freely gave its information. The vacuum had occurred roughly half an hour ago, Bounty-time, but no more than ten minutes ago Tree-time.

Countdown reset. Countdown resumed. - 2:58

Through the emerald waters, back onto the shore of the river, the monk waited.

"Ah, hello," she said, smiling. "I heard clicking from within. You've found the doorway? Is it too late to admit that I cannot swim?"

"We have to hurry... and absolutely no magic can be used now. The two are related, but this means I'm severely handicapped. Soon there will be a giant wave of magic hitting the land. I saw vacuums all over, bounty. Oh and there are technical issues in the lab with the sensors so who knows what in there, but I need to get any defenses against magic it might have online as soon as possible." He paused for moment to think and then... three, two, one. If everything went ok, it should open.

Re: (Anik) The Lesser Bounty

The door opened suddenly, and the craftsman and the monk were met with a massive gushing, an obsidian wave, of black plasma crashed, ever so slowly, across the sand. This was bizarre. Upon touching the plasma, Anik saw that it was the product of a strange fungus, a biological entity designed, apparently, by a rival of his - ever familiar, smoking dark cigarettes, wild hair and yet so alien, so unknown, there was no name or face - and then he was gone.

The fungus had been created to expand upon the consumption of steel, iron, the lesser metals - to work through the door, four hundred feet thick, at the end of the short tunnel. It had failed, starved to death - perhaps when it had reached the mythrolasium, that fusion of mythril and solasium, purest ore harvested from suns, which Anik knew no simple creature should overcome.

He stopped. Two pieces of information - mythrolasium and the shadowy rival. Important..?

"What.. what is this..?" asked the monk, honestly disgusted.

Re: (Anik) The Lesser Bounty

"A carcass of an invasion attempt by a unknown rival." is what he said. He paused for a moment and took in the sheer simplicity of the statement and what it meant. He brain was stirring with questions, thinking simulations, scenarios, all really done subconsciously by now(still took brain power)... this was bad he was annoyed. A rival would throw a hitch in things. A rival meant... even competition. And what was worse is that he needed his memories to gain all the memory. "Alright. Be careful! I have no idea what lies beyond this point."

Anik thought about the pussy plasma ooze... "Still, there is the problem of getting through. I mean I will be able to do something about it soon enough... but right now I'm out of options with no powers or magic." Anik was saving his divine power, if he drained himself here as well as in the valley the backlash would put him in a worse position.

Anik was followed cautiously by the monk, who showed her obvious disdain at the oozing plasma. The walls and ceiling were dripping with the stuff; Anik estimated that the gloop had taken up the entire space of the roughly forty-feet tunnel (which dipped suddenly into the earth). Did he wish to continue in..?

Re: (Anik) The Lesser Bounty

Anik separated a piece of flat rock. He took out the rock filled with lady bots and had them begin munching and breeding there way though it until there was no rock left. After a couple minutes and he had enough to fill a 10x10 cm cube (:P not even on full-production since I don't want to strain myself) He removed one more rock. He concentrates on it as if he was crafting, but let his Ladybots help. Soon the rock became one of his "crafting rods" in which he had all the elements needed to make something. This included non-radioactive uranium and thorium, A plethra of metals, silicon, carbon, and different crystals. Most of Ladybots (which to the naked eye grouped together look like a black liquid) grouped together creating two bracers for Anik, their job done. But a few(trillion) would still be inside his creation acting as his nano-hands for the more delicate parts.

Anik took the rod and began crafting once more. While most of the thing was made from a composite of Boron Nitride, Silicon Carbide, and an Aluminum Composite it was the insides which were a real beauty, with crystals arranged close to the same geometric patters which was fine for him to do himself. The nano-parts came when he had to create the nanotubes running through connecting the crystals, and he made to created two miniature battery replica of his original with some modification in the design for rapid-energy unleash  and rapid-recharge.

In the end was a weapon made by Anik and for Anik. Like the Nanobot's breeding, this weapon also took an active role with his powers, but on a sliding scale. Anik's power would allow the power creation of a non-volatile Power-Cell, or allow for amplification of a volatile power-cell. Any god's divine power would allow for the use of a volatile power cell. But anyone could use a pre-manufactured energy cell.

He pulled out the Ladybugs and allowed them to rest with their sisters.

Physical Shape: (the first one)
http://attachments.conceptart....c=1&d=1241733037

Inner-structure:
Technology used in this once again of techo-divine manufacturing. The semi-divine enchanted crystal structure inside the gun combined with nanotubes are used to direct the raw energy from both the (currently depleted) Thorium Battery (not inside the pack, but instead a component in the gun itself) and the Power-Cell. The crystals were arranged a configuration that allowed him to change the output type into 5 different types.

The Power Cell:
Power cells came in 3 varieties Non-volatile, Volatile, and Pre-made Energy Cell. A Non-volatile is literally a bunch of stable matter. Rock, stone, etc. A Volatile cell is one with radioactive material, something that already would decay. A pre-made energy cell is something Anik has yet to make, but would allow for anyone to use the weapon because it would supply the power without any need of matter destruction.

How it works:
Non-Volatile- Anik holds the weapon, the crystals on the other side of the rubber grips are able to accept divine energy (cannot pull out energy) from a god. In Anik's case the power is not only fuel but he can "flavor" his destroy power into the energy alloying the crystals to transfer that power to the Non-Volatile matter in the Power Cell and use it to create raw energy. This method allows for slow destruction of matter which turns into the energy for the weapon.
Volatile- While the structure itself already accepts radioactive energy from the power cell, it still needs divine backing to "power" the decay instigator and amplifies energy acceptor which thus generators power from a controlled (yet fast) nuclear decay.
Premade Energy- The thing just soaks up the power provided.

One the energy from the power cell is made it is transferred to the two Thorium Batteries, who store up the energy for the weapons blast. An arrangement of crystals monitor all energy direction and potential. Each battery at full charge has enough power for either 30 micro-bursts, 3 full-blasts, or a 30 seconds drain. It also takes about 30 seconds for a full charge on each (less if Anik is using a volatile Power cell).
Now because the cell is constantly re-charging, this means that the following is available without eventually over-drawing on the battery: (over estimated for safety)
100 micro-burst per minute (machine gun)
1 full-blast every 7 seconds (cannon)
The continuous drain has a cut off at 30 seconds then needs a 5 second rest for heat-issues, power-wise it could continuously shoot at 100%. It is possible to over-pull for 200% power for 10 seconds, with a 20 second rest for cooling.

There are 6 crystal arrangements from the actual shooting part.
1: Safety- The thing has a safety to stop the trigger, but this safety actually returns all energy into the power cell.
2: Micro-burst- Fires a small compressed plasma shot that while only about the size of a small marble, when impact erupts in a firey plasma blaze about the half the size of a bowling ball. This is the "machine-gun" mode.
3: Full Blast- Fires a massive base-ball sized compressed plasma shot which when it hits the target erupts in a fury of hell-fire that impacts like a brick of c4 that size, but much hotter.
4: Laser- The lead crystal switch and instead a single blast, it focuses a 1 cm inch diameter plasma laser. Good for cutting, as the effective distance is only 20 feet.
5: Flamethrower- Another continuous shot drain, this shoots out a stream of plasma which crosses itself about 4 feet away and then erupts forward in the atmosphere unleashing a hellish column of fire. Effective distence is 20 feet. Good for incinerating anything close.
6: Radioactive Flash- This weapon is mean. Instead of focusing the energy to create plasma it shoots a nutron flash forward in a 60 degree cone forward. Effective at 10 feet or less, it just looks like a camera flash... and then anything in the cone generally drops dead. The area it his is radiated for a bit before it dusts.

Radiation and other Contorl issues- The crystals don't just direct raw energy. They imbue the power with divine energy. This allows for the control outside of the gun, and removes radiation by compelling the energy expelled to gather to form dust.

Re: (Anik) The Lesser Bounty

Soon the weapon, crafted out of seemingly innocent stone by the black, nanotechnological goop that was tied to Anik's theoelectromagnetic field, was complete, hot within his hands. Anik felt the exhaustion come over him again. It wasn't simply creation at this point in time, but the tapping of his purest creative energies - energies that spawn from his own powers, his own theoelectromagnetic field, manipulating vital forces held within his very soul.

"That was.. impressive, Anik," said the monk, silent up until this point. "What is it? Firearm?"

Re: (Anik) The Lesser Bounty

Anik thought that might happen, this was the most divine power he had used in an object, though it gave him a weapon to match those of others currently. He rested a bit before he was done to regain his energy enough to use the gun. "Alright. Lets test it." He switched it first to laser mode and gave it a couple of 5 second bursts on some of the goo that was before him, burning it up. He switched it to the next continuous draw mode, the flame thrower. "Get back." He warned her, he was careful not to get any black-blast from the tunnel and began burning the rest of the goop at the entrance. If everything was well he switched it to the machine-gun mode. He began shooting down the tunnel, making sure to angle them to hit the walls, floor, and ceiling about 50 to 100 feet away.

"Alright now really get back.", he pointed farther away behind some cover off to the side of the rocks.

He switched it to blast mode and aimed it straight down the middle of the tunnel, it wouldn't reach the end which was good, and the large ball might actual reveal what is down there before the explosion of fire... which thanks to tunnel physics it would send all flames rushing back toward the entrance (if there wasn't an opening somewhere else), then only half the fire would rush back, of course then that was assuming that the other side didn't have a low-pressure area like a chimney... then only small bit fly down the tunnel towards them before stopping and dissipating. Lucky once out of the tunnel the heat would be pretty spent and wouldn't go far.

He took the shot and then turned and ran for cover with the architect monk.

(basically wanting to know if this is the only place of entry in the tunnel and burn the goo... who says two birds can't be killed with on plasma-blast?)

Re: (Anik) The Lesser Bounty

Several bursts of superheated blue struck the plasma, which burst into black-blue flames once hit, finally settling down a few seconds after to the softer red-orange fire - and then nothing. The black goop was completely destroyed. Finally, as the last charge was throne into the tunnel - with the monk, looking vaguely horrified, and Anik dashing for safety - Anik saw the blue-white heat burst into orange flame, rushing through the tunnel, obliterating everything within and then bursting out of the portal, dissipating as quickly as it formed. There were no other access-points to the tunnel. All of the black plasma had been destroyed.

Re: (Anik) The Lesser Bounty

The tunnel was warm, the air thin and thick with the choking smell of burnt goop. Yhe tunnel was otherwise clean, the stench the only remains of the doomed plasma that had tried to steal Anik's secrets. The tunnel went further down until they were twenty feet beneath ground, and then it continued on an even level for another two hundred feet - two hundred feet of iron, mythril, admantium, silver protection, devoured by the hideous thing.

"This is.. an interesting laboratory," said the monk. "I assume the black oil-thing wasn't yours?"

A dead end: a wall that seemed as if normal, black rock to those untrained to sense the signs, but Anik felt the blinding, blistering glory of the solasium, diluted as it was with mythril, burn at his eyes and cheeks. It was an invisible heat, a heat on a different plane of existence. Solasium.. ore harvested from the sun.. weak by itself, but when mixed with mythril.. mythrolasium was a metal not even his rival could overcome.

"A door," said the monk, grinning with glee. "I like how you operate, Anik."

After that he would move his hand closer and closer slowly trying to feel the heat coming off it, seeing if he could place his hand on it.

Anik could place his hand on it - it was hot, but not unbearably so. He learnt that he had to tame one of the Living Suns of Absorthus - Absorthus? Where was that..? - in order to find the rare metal, and had spent many days trying to figure out the optimal approach to using. It was hot enough to burn off magical affects and wards, most powers, and to short-circuit most electronics. Bonded with mythril, it was also incredibly difficult to destroy.
