Re: RP PUBLIC V10T: The Markets of Nicodemus

Ruse ignored the "say please" comment. He expected his will to be carried out, and at a high degree of quality. He wasn't mean about it, but he wasn't super humble about it either.

"I need the SUIT to work in the realm supernatural for sure, but also the realm savage too. If you could somehow make it work in the abyss too I can see that being potentially useful, given the current state of how things are going. Is that few enough places to be viable?"

"I also need some general upgrades too - processing speed needs a huge improvement, but I also would like enhanced shielding capability, scanning, and information retreival. If you can put some of the features of advanced standard SUIT models into to, then please do so with my high lord clearance. If there is enhances information processing systems that could be useful. If there are other utilities or movement modes that can also work. Finally, if you can enhance it to have full functionality in my mist form I'd be ever so grateful."

Ruse disengages the SUIT's connection to him and removes it.

"It is a standard SUIT I believe...not a ZOOT or something. It has information files on it that I'd like preserved."

Desafon

(Whoops sorry!)

Ruse

The machinist laughed long and hard at that.

"There's known ta be only one suit that could possibly protect you from the Abyss," Aurhar chuckled, "And that's the birthday dress of yer average Dhelvanian!"

He grinned, slapped Ruse on the back.

"But Realm Savage I can do. Not with this yakhrazkood example of engineering, though. Easily six years old. Earthborn schematics. Literally 'born of Earth', not 'born of the Earthman', which I can admire a hell've a lot more. I can modify it for ya, sure, but you'd be best off buying a more recent flux-capable SUIT. I won't like it. And it'll cost."

He shook his head.

"Give me yer badge and I'll scan through the transaction. I know you. Roid's latest lay - or is it lad? Both, I'd imagine. Heh. You'll be covered, I'm sure, Conclave tab. I'll never get paid - but hey! All for the greater good, right? Right?"

He blinked, and a single scaled arm reached to light a cigarette. Ruse had never seen a nicotine-addled Systemarch before. Hard to tell what was the stimulant and what was the broken personality.

"We'll give everything a boost, oh yeah. I'll need some things from you, though. A lot's happened in half a decade. SUITtech became available to the Spider-folk. Waveisms, too, but that's different. Cut off some of that pretty hair, lass, and I'll work it in."

Ruse nodded as he listened, and replied,

"I assure you Roid and I have a strictly platonic relationship. Honestly I don't even know if you spiders are capable of true lovmaking or not. I hear you have this mindfuck thing you do with your Dhaal...literally."

He grinned a bit, but then resumed composire quickly and continued,

"Yes I am requisitioning your services in the name of the Convclave. If you must feel free to scan my badge and put it on the Conclave's tab, but do not access my personal account."

"Also, I hear you about getting a SUIT upgrade and would like to obtain a new SUIT. I would like you to provide me with the most top of the line SUIT available. You can, if you'd like, apply this to the conclave's tab and let them worry about the cost. I have files on my current SUIT that I will need to transfer over to the new SUIT, but I have all the permissions and passwords so it shouldn't be an issue. This new state-of-the-art SUIT that I'm getting should most definitly be able to function in the world savage, as well as other places if possible like Alkan and the like. but the world savage is a necessary minimum."

"Speaking of which, could you apply an upgrade to my new SUIT that will allow me to utilize paradox? Apparently the Shage can do it but only in the world savage. If they can, then it should be possible for my supremely adaptive divine physiology to adapt and do it as well, right?"

"And what do you want a lock of my hair for?"

Re: RP PUBLIC V10T: The Markets of Nicodemus

"I can provide yer with such a SUIT," said Aurhar, "But not any time soon. I need the basic modules to be imported from the Territories, ya see, an' then I need to modify it for Divine physiology. I wanted a lock've yer hair for two reasons - one, first, I can integrate the sympathetics of your hair within the SUIT, strengthening its resistance to magic and other nastiness, and two, second, it'd help you bond with't extremely quickly. Third, too, three - if I can study yer Divinity, I can custom-build the thing."

He took another puff of the cigarette.

"But I can't yet promise about the paradox," he said. "That's tricky science right there. Expensive, too. Not sure the Conclave'd approve a purchase like that."

Re: RP PUBLIC V10T: The Markets of Nicodemus

Ruse gestured with his hand, and a lock of his silky hair severed itself from his head and fell neatly into his hand, trailed by a fine mist that quickly dissipated. He handed it to the technician.

"Very well - I believe your intentions are sound and wise, and you have my approval. As for the paradox situation, I hear the shage can do it within the world savage but choose not to. I can do it in theory but hear it would be...painful. Is there a way to allow my divine physiology to fully adapt enough to paradox there? Actually, i wonder if my physiology will adapt on its own in time? I wouldn't have a clue how long that would take though."

"But we can discuss paradox technology later. Let's go ahead with the hair and see if you can't custom-build me a SUIT that is tailored to complement my own divinity and personhood. I'd like it to be state of the art and able to rival any SUIT on the open and black market. Perhaps a SUIT that could evolve and grow with me...if such a thing is possible. I wouldn't expect that by default though, and applaude your efforts as they are now. I don't know why but for some reason I've always gotten along well with systemarchs."

"Ahahah," laughed Auhare. "Yer not bad yerself, High Lord. I'll try and get that SUIT ready for you as soon as possible. I need some parts, as I said, from the Territories, and they're not the easiest to find.. for some reason, the Presidency doesn't quite seem so keen as to allow me to do my jyhaack-damn job."

He opened another pack of cigarettes, gestured towards Ruse. "Smoke?"

"No thank you." Ruse said politely, as the smoke wafting off the systemarch's cigarette parted ways around Ruse all on its own, without him really having to ask it to. As if the smoke was being respectful.

"I can probably get the territories to send you the parts immediately. Lower runged individuals like associates don't have much sway with the earthborn, but they are members of the conclave and as a highlord I certainly possess the authority to requisition those parts directly. Could you please open up a communication channel to the necessary party and make the order directly, in my name. It is very important that I get the upgraded custom built SUIT. You have my authorization to requisition those parts in the name of the conclave, especially since this will directly enhance my ability to carry out my duties."

If there is a small wait time, I can head over to the arena. I am interested both in Maxine, as well as hope to see Roid and Drachul there.

Re: RP PUBLIC V10T: The Markets of Nicodemus

Desafon returns to the market vendor whom is selling the desert gear and purchases it, with intentions to find Sura... although, at the same time, he seeks out some decent light armor to protect him from blade attacks and perhaps something that might assist his vision while in any form of sandstorm.

Of course, he also has intentions to return to the Merchants Guild of the Market in order to purchase his place as a brother-guilder.

Ruse

"Ah, thank you," said the Systemarch. "High Lord, I will go to that right now. There will be quite the waiting time, however. So go, see your duel, watch that slaughter. I'd be going myself, but.. y'know, work calls."

Desafon

The desert equipment was found: a full-body suit, with a hood, goggles, and a fabric mask, created with the specific purpose of staving off starvation and dehydration while there. If soaked in freezing water for a day, it can keep the wearer at a comfortable temperature for up to a week. It was going for a thousand Conclave Stones.

"Ah, I can see it in your walk," said the merchant providing the desert gear. "You've just found yourself some money. Well, let me advise you that if you're looking for something a little greater, I've just finished the first make of my latest model. If you've got the time, I can show you what it does."

Ruse smiles, and nods, and says,

"Wonderful. I will leave my new SUIT in your care then. I have always respected Systemarch genius, even if it isn't often aesthetic. If you could, I'd like my SUIT to fit the aesthetic appeal that will undoubtedly be revealed by my strand of hair's divinity. Looking good is as important as fighting good, after all."

He shifted into mist form, his voice echoed out in a loud whisper,

"I will return soon, after the arena duel. If it is done before that, please have a message sent to me. Again, thank you for your assistance."

Ruse then flew off extremely fast, heading for the duel arena.

Before he decides to purchase the suit already offered, Desafon seems to raise an eyebrow, interested indeed. "Yes. Although I am not often in the desert or warm heat, I find my... prey of the moment seems to live in such a terrain." He says, though he nods again. "I would be interested in seeing this new style of suit."

Ruse

"Not a problem," said Aurhar, and he began his work.

Ruse came upon the arena.

Desafon

The shopkeep smiled to himself, took Desafon to the back, private area of the shop-stall.

"My latest work of art.." he breathed.

The suit was revealed: heavy cloth reinforced with heavy cloth, shimmering lightly in the glare of the market. Accompanying it were curious footwear and an ornate, almost oriental breathing-mask. It was all a light brown in colour.

"Don't mind the thickness of the thing," said the shopkeep, beaming with pride. "It's designed to provide protection against stings, bites, sand.. even, to a limited degree, blades and knives, though it won't be much good against a high-power diamond-round rifle, I'm afraid. It's regulated by Living Metal, kept cool by the stuff, and in most cases it is that Living Metal which protects you. The suit is chameleon-like in its stealth capabilities, shifting to the landscape, and the boots are made not to make a trace upon the sands - and to protect your feet, of course. You will feel heavy, yes, but you will be mighty. The mask helps against identification, sandstorms, the heat beating down upon your head.. the gloves, see," he said, showing Desafon the white gloves of the thing, "Can be filled with Living Metal at a simple command, allowing you greater strength and hitting force. In fact, with constant proper-use, the suit will adapt to you, increase the efficiency of its workings, boosting speed, strength, agility.."

He grinned.

"It runs on a GoogleTechia-style highly modified SUIT, with advanced modifications in the range of ZOOT or the Disney make.. meaning that it has full glyphic display systems, if needed, upon the mask, and can store and gather information. It also acts as a highly versatile database with access to Conclave and Earthborn Information Vaults.. yes, it is a beauty. Can synthesize antitoxins, water, anything you need.. Took me three years to build. Nothing else like it in the world."

He looked at Desafon shrewdly.

"What do you say, sir? I'd let it go, for, say.. fifty thousand."

Re: RP PUBLIC V10T: The Markets of Nicodemus

Even though the amount seems awful high to him, the fact of what all it does seems to intrigue him severely. "No doubt the SUIT is indeed important and very capable, but consider it from my side: I do not often intend to be fighting in the desert. Yes, the SUIT is advanced, but how capable is it in an Ocean terrain? Does it allow for highly increased swimming and water-breathing capability? I am mainly only looking for something to increase my ability to fight in the desert, but at the same time the other features highly appeal to me. As you can see, the cost is definitely of some slight concern to me, having just made barely enough money to purchase what you have brought before me. In fact, I still seek to join the Merchants in their Guild and to do so is costing fifteen thousand. If there is any way that I could afford both, no doubt I would, but I am in a dilemma here." He acts concerned rather well... mainly because he is.

"If you are not interested," said the shopkeep, "Than I will not try to convince you... though if money is the only concern, I could drop the price down to forty-five. As for water capabilities.. it will render you unable to be drowned, but in other ways I cannot say that it will help."

The man smiled, thinlu.

Nodding, Desafon grins. About ready to hand over the money, Desafon happens to either recall or notice the message from the Herald about suits being offered and strokes his chin. "I believe I might have to say no. I do apologize, but it is not just the money. It would seem a very high bounty has been offered for someone more important than my current quarry and I'd like to see about recouping any losses in stones." He grins, bowing before he moves off.

EDIT: Yes, I did change my mind about handing the money off and getting the Suit. Unfortunately, that also means joining the war effort on the side of the Conclave rather than remaining Neutral.

Ruse

Aurhar smoked as he worked, with all his hands, on fixing an elaborate piece of technomachinery. It looked like it had come from several thousand years in the future. He placed it down and smiled when he saw Ruse.

"Howdy, kid," he said, gesturing roughly to a large package wrapped in brown. "There's yer SUIT. Don't say I didn't do anything for you. Compliments of the Territories and the Councilman."

Desafon

The merchant frowned, tried to keep a smile, failed.

"I see. You don't want my masterpiece. No matter.. good luck with your hunt, young man. Perhaps I will see you again."

Ruse nodded and gave a slight bow of his head - an unusually humble gesteur for a Mistellan, who never displayed such things except to social superiors and their god. Not unless they were somehow extremely impressed and/or grateful.

"I must humbly admit that I am extremely impressed by this. For all the ugly aesthetics some systemarch technology has, it is far outmatched by its sheer superiority and elegance. Like I said before, I respect systemarchs greatly despite their appearance."

While this had an arrogant undertone, it was actually a huge compliment coming from Ruse and was quite genuine.

"So Aurhar, what should I know about my new SUIT?"

Anik headed over here (still having the paper that would let him know when Wyrn was ready). And went directly to a dealer in nulcear material, namly Thorium. A much less popular nulcear material because it doesn't go "boom" like the others (but it still can), but it was great for reactors.

Once he found some good prices he would get 3kg of it. (he would also assume it came in a lead box)

"Abs-lootley fucked if I know," said Aurhar, ignoring the compliment. "I haven't opened the package. All personal, it is. I know that it's been made using some form of Earthborn far-tech, but that's about it. Not two minutes after you'd left for the duel I saw a man, emissary for the Territories, asking for your hair. I gave it to them, so it must be specially-made. Damn far-tech."

Anik

Anik soon spoke once more with Havanar, who sold him three kilograms of the stuff for two hundred Conclave Stones.

"Do you want that shipped - free of charge, of course, for a loyal customer - to Bounty or would you prefer to take it now?"

The only earthborn I had a meaningful relationship was killed by Aesin a while ago - I should look into a possible revival." he said, thinking aloud to himself at the end.
