Despite it's name, the Hell of Blazing Fire isn't Hell, it isn't Blazing, and it isn't on Fire. It is, however, a barren wasteland-like savanna, it's people living in the center, attempting to make the most out of the land they live on. The northern end of the realm is constantly cold, with temperatures that rival the arctic region, yet snow barely falls. To the south is a region marked by tall volcanoes and extreme heat. Several small caves dotted throughout all three regions lead to a large chasm deep underground, containing a floating sphere of super condensed magma, the true "Hell of Blazing Fire"

The Kasha are very thin, have tanned skin and hair ranging from brown to dirty green. They all have some resistance to heat and an extreme preference for teamwork. Also, due to the energy efficiency that their bodies have, they only need to eat once every week. The food they eat then will sustain them for the rest of the week.

Reiuji appears in the Hell of Blazing Fire, and waves her third leg in the air. "Sure is an interesting place" She says, as she walks towards the sun. (Unless it's noon.)

The sun starts to get closer to Rei as she continues to walk. She spots a few napping Kasha on her way, their thin forms rising and lowering with their breath.

Reiuji counts the Kasha, sits down and politely waits for one of them to wake up.

There were six.

A Kasha wakes up, slowly, and stares at Reiuji, drowsiness in it's eyes.

"Goddess?" it asked, it's voice sleepy.

"Yes." Reiuji says tenderly. "Could you please tell me where the others are? There can't be just the six of you."

"More of us," said the Kasha. "Ahead. Scattered. But there are more."

"Do you think the others will wake up soon?" Rei asks, patting the Kasha on the head. "I'd like to bring everyone together."

"We.. we could wake them, Goddess," says the Kasha sleepily. He was enjoying the feel of his Goddesses' touch upon his skin.

"Yes, let's do that." Rei says, nodding to the Kasha and slowly waking the rest of them up by gently poking their shoulders.

Soon, there were a few hundred of them awake - and then, a full thousand. Kasha would awaken and then go about waking the others. It took very little time to rouse the entire Realm. They were now all awake, all crowding around their Goddess.

Reiuji smiles. "What's going on? Has anything strange happened lately?" She asks "And what do you have for shelter?"

The kasha shrugged.

"Shelter? We don't use shelter. We don't need it, Goddess."

They looked at each other.

"Nothing strange has been happening, either. Today is the Day of Naps."

"Well, tell me what you know of this place and what the surroundings are like." Rei says. "And if some of you want to continue napping, I won't mind a bit."

The Kasha explained that they needed to sleep only once a day per week in order to keep at maximum efficiency, but enjoyed sleeping for the whole day. An few Kasha returned to sleep, but an older one approached his Goddess.

"Goddess," he said, "The surroundings are harsh at every angle, but we manage, we thrive. We have no proper buildings to live in - they are destroyed either by the withering cold or the sweltering heat."

"Well, have you tried digging your buildings out underground?" Rei says. "What have you been making the buildings out of?"

"Stones, Goddess. Sometimes, if we can find it, wood. Bone is good but even rarer. And.. living underground? We'd never considered.. living underground. There are some caves. But not many. Not enough."

The Kasha seemed sad at this thought.

"Well if there aren't enough caves, we should start digging our own." Rei says. "Hot hot does the ground get around here?"

"Hot enough to wither bones and boil our blood, Goddess," replied on of the Kasha. "Hot enough to harm our thinking and slow our actions."

"Well then... where is the closest cave?" Rei asks. "I might be able to think of something."

"Roughly a mile from here, Goddess," said the Kasha.

"What direction is it in?" Rei asks. Afterwards, she sets off in the direction provided.

The cave is small, dry, and dark. It was mildly cooler inside, but not by much.

Rei steps outside the cave blasts the ground with some water, trying to find out how the water effects the earth.

(I know it makes mud. I want to know how fast the water spreads through the earth, and stuff like that.)

(How are you blasting the water?)

(Magic?)

(You're only a Dabbler, sorry. Without a higher Degree or ritual you're unable to accomplish such a feat, though you can conjure a small stream of water.)

(Yeah yeah sure.)

(So.. everything okay?)

(Yeah, I was just getting irritated at my computer, and I'm kinda tired. Not your fault.)

(No worries. Sorry about the ruling. I'm ready to post whenever you are - take your time.)

(Don't worry about it. I'm just trying to state my intent. Proceed, if you don't mind.)

The cave was cool, and a little damp. The Kasha looked on expectantly.

Rei turns to the Kasha and smiles. "I'm going to go look around. By myself. I'll probably be back tomorrow" She says, heading to the north.

Soon, the temperature becomes freezing cold, and snow starts to whip past Reiuji. Icy daggers slash at her skin. The extreme places of the Realm truly were unlivable..

Rei keeps going north until her energy tank starts to fill.

She starts to feel it filling.. feel the icy energy store within her..

(God my Freud Sensor went off on that one. The only bad thing about having a wasteland is that there isn't much to fight, eh?)

Rei waits until her tank is full, then heads for the more hospitable regions, looking for things that might be a threat to her people.

There was nothing as of the moment, but - wait - she sensed the presence of a stranger in her Realm.

Rei rushes towards the stranger, third leg held aloft.

"Greetings," said the God. He had brown hair and nice eyes. He wore the Seal of Odin - he was Conclave. "Lady Reiuji? I'm here to further sort out the details regarding your Associateship.."

Rei lowers her third leg and smiles. "Well, welcome to the Hell of Blazing Fires then, nice to meat you. What do you need to talk about?"

"Your recruitment. Aggressive operations, yes? My name is Shanos, Recruitment Officer 0016 (Brown Band). I'm here to give you your oath-sword and Seal of Odin, as well as the details of how to go about receiving the information regarding your work, but first I'd like to offer you the opportunity to take the unbreakable oath of Callisti. It's, well, it's unbreakable.

"You'd advance faster through the ranks, though, since the Conclave can be sure of your trust.. but it's entirely voluntary. No obligation."

He smiled.

"Would I be able to take the oath later? Just in case it turns out I don't like what I'm getting into, you know. I doubt I'll dislike it though." Rei says, a constant smile on her face.

"Absolutely. No problems there. We would have to give you an oath-sword, however - it's essentially a silver blade, no longer than a knife, that you are required to wear for as long as you are an Associate. It is sentient, but won't speak up unless you are acting against the wishes of the Conclave. When that occurs, it will take action. Is that okay?"

"Yes, that's fine by me." Rei says.

"Great. Here it is."

He passes Reiuji a knife, and then pulls out a black seal. It had the image of ten silver towers trapped within a golden sun on it's face.

"This is the Seal of Odin, proof of your Associateship and identification as an agent of the Conclave. It is yours."

He passes it to her.

(D: I only have one hand. Does the seal stick on my clothes or something?)

(Yep!)

Rei takes the knife and stabs it through her skirt. She then sticks the seal on her third leg.

The Conclave officer nods approvingly.

"Well, with that out of the way, all you need to do now is to await our word. I've taken up much of your time. Thank you for your hospitality."

"Too bad I can't get started now." Rei says. "But, oh well."

The man smiled.

"If I know the men at the Heralding Department, they'll have alerted you already."

Rei appears back in her realm and looks around for any wildlife or monsters.

There was nothing as far as she could see. However, the Realm was vastly unexplored, and there were no doubts as to the potential of the Hell to contain a multitude of beasts.

Reiuji first sets out to explore the underground areas of her realm.

Reiuji was in a dilemma. Did she want to take one of the tried, safe routes into the True Hell of Blazing Fire, or would she prefer an experimental - but possibly more valuable - entrance to the extreme areas of her Realm? Both had their perks - relative safety (in exchange for a relatively mundane experience) or risk and danger (in exchange for the possibility of considerable treasure)?

The dangerous way, obviously. What good is exploration if you know the path you're taking?

In which direction was Reiuji searching for an entrance?

South. Failing that, West.

To the south existed a semi-mythical entrance to the inferno below.. it was the Mouth of Lokode, and it was said to contain the souls of every traitor and heretic ever to wander the Hells. It was the temple of Lokode, an interesting figure in Reiujic lore..

Reiuji enters the Temple of Lokode, and looks around, first and foremost looking for anything that might be trying to kill her.

There was only a simple, wooden icon within the temple; some sort of Sky Goddess worship. There were stairs leading downwards, and Reiuji found herself standing on a simple prayermat. It was stiflingly hot within the cave.

Reiuji carefully picks up the icon and inspects it. If there was anything obviously special about it, she would carry it with her. If not, she obviously wouldn't. Either way she heads down the stairs.

It was too heavy to carry, being made of solid stone and wood.

Down the stairs sat a man. He was young, with a pale, gaunt face; his eyes were sharp, and his nose straight.  His hair was wild. He smoked a long, thin stick - the stench was unpleasant - and was dressed in various shades of red.

"Hello," said the man, eye Reiuji. "You are the Goddess of this place?"

"Yes, yes I am the goddess of this land." Reiuji says, smiling and bowing at the man.

"Ah, good." He stood up, held his hand out to Reiuji. "My name is Parv, short for Parvermanstensas, and I am the guardian demon of this place. For two decades I've watched this temple. It would be good to have some company.."

"You've been down here for twenty years?" Reiuji asks, obviously shocked. "You need to get out more."

The man - with rugged hair and strange features, as if he were being seen in a mirror - smiled thinly.

"Unfortunately, madam, I have not had a choice in the matter. I am afraid, also, that I cannot let you enter below."

"Why, and why not?" Reiuji says. "And how are you going to try and stop me if I do decide to go downstairs?"

"I will probably have to kill you," said the demon, sadly. "Which is something I don't want to do. It has been so long since I have seen such a mortal beauty. Forgive me."

"What's so important that you would have to kill me for it?" Reiuji asks.

"I am unsure," said the demon. "But that is what I have been commanded to do."

"Well, I always try a way to avoid fights if I can." Reiuji says. "Do you know who summoned you?"

"I was summoned by Lokode the Just, a sorcerer who has since left this mortal realm - but, as per the rules of our engagement, I am not freed by his simple death," sighed the demon. "Which is unfortunate, as it is a little too cold here for my tastes. I come from a warmer, jungle climate.. the ice does not suit me."

"Well, I'll come back when I find a way to free you, I promise" Reiuji says, bowing to the demon. "I'll see you later~" She heads for the exit, fully intent on keeping her promise.

"Thank you, madam," said the demon sadly.

It was extremely hot outside.

Reiuji leaves the temple and heads to the eastern part of her realm, still intent on finding thrills and excitement.

Reiuji soon came upon a large metal sphere, hanging in the sky, as if it were watching the warm lands below. Hanging from it, ever so lightly, was a single silver cord, which - Reiuji supposed - could be climbed to gain access to the thing. The sphere was huge - the size of a small moon - and strangely menacing.

Reiuji tugs on the cord to see if it was stable or not. She then climbs up it if it is.

The thread was secure. It was strong - almost like steel, but with the texture of cloth - and only pulled down a little as Reiuji climbed upon it. It was definitely magical.. or maybe some bizarre form of hyper-advanced technology.

The climb was long, but not particularly difficult. Reiuji was athletic enough. As she got higher, the temperature dropped considerably, and it was when she was roughly halfway to the silver moon - and the gigantic rocks below were only tiny specks upon a blurred landscape - when she heard the siren.

Not a siren, exactly, but the beating of heavy drums.. loud enough, ferocious enough to be heard even in the rasping winds that threatened to throw Reiuji to her doom. To be heard even as the moon was still distant..

From above the moon, movement. Screeching. Darts, hurting towards heard, grey and black..

They were, perhaps, the size of Reiuji, but skinner - unnaturally gaunt - and bonier. They were reptilian in feature, with the feet and wings of a small dragon, no arms, and - perhaps the most disconcerting thing - the horrible head of the squid, complete with dangling tentacles adorned with black-blue (obviously poisonous) suction cups. The things were maddening, coming closer.. a dozen, maybe a little more.. spines on their wings, knees and backs..

Reiuji felt a twang of panic escape her.

(Quick~ How full is my energy tank?)

(We're looking at eight.)

(Oh. Cool.)

Reiuji attempts to generate enough swinging momentum to swing close to one of the creatures, before activating her Energy Saber and attacking the closest thing.

With a screech that was a little too close, the first - and most courageous - of the squid-pterodactyls swooped, lunging towards Reiuji. It flew quickly, but Reiuji found it easy enough to sing with the wind wildly to the left, swatting the thing with as much strength as she could muster. A second, agonized screech, and it toppled far below. She felt the energy beam - a green vortex of violent force manifesting around her arm - drain a tiny amount of energy as it cut the thing clean in two.

The beast, halved, hit the ground.

The other creatures, of which there are twelve left, seem to back off a little, weighing Reiuji up.

Reiuji reaches out with her new psionics and grabs one of the squidthings. She then swings it at the others.

Reiuji feels the thing tighten in her invisible grasp, and as she flings it towards the next they both explode in a cacophony of bone and blood and screeching. The nine remaining, however, are getting desperate.. they began to swoop Reiuji menacingly..

Reiuji activates her Energy Shield, and attempts to rip of the squidthings's wings with her psychokinesis.

Reiuji felt a stab of pain hit her mind - she was still knew to her psychokinetic abilities, after all, and as she felt her grip slacken on the silver cord she had to resist fainting. A pterodactyl had attempted to tear the flesh from her back, but was repelled by the flickering shield, consistently getting weaker.. another beast was sent plummeting to the ground below, it's wings shredded.

Reiuji now takes a different approach, blasting whatever fire magic she can at the flying beasties.

The closest result that Reiuji could manage to hurling streams of fire at the pterodactyls is - and this is if she really tries - to conjure warm currents of air, no stronger then a light breeze, at them. She simply wasn't prepared.

A flying beast struck the energy shield head on. The shield exploded in a wave of light, breaking the pterodactyls neck and sending it to the ground - but now the shield was gone.

"Screw this." Reiuji says, letting go of the rope and opening a portal to someone else's realm if she can. She really wasn't prepared for a fight like this and had no other way out.

As Reiuji hit the ground below, her bones should have broken, should have shattered into a thousand pieces.

She was fine, however, though her head hurt a little. The psychokinetic bubble-shield had protected her.

Overheard, the pterodactyls circled, like carrion.

If she wished to visit another Realm, now would be the time to do so.

(I need to actually think before I post :X)

"Damn. I really need to pay attention when I try stuff like that." She says, opening a portal to some other realm and walking/crawling/whatever through.

There was a hero removed - the death of a people - the greatest martial arts tournament - a temple with too many steps -

And Reiuji was in the Temple of Pha-Hu.

This Realm is now Dead.
