Re: Returned

Kylie:  100 XPs for that helpful post!!  (helps ME almost as much as it helps the players, I assure you!)

So Korgan and Kylie are in this part of the vast Underdark in search of the culprits to the deaths of the dwarves.  Korgan is also keeping his eyes peeled for three dwarven artifacts (from waaaay back when DM Scout ran this region):

A stone key about as long as man's forearm, a great hammer with Moradin's holy symbol etched into both sides of the head and stone fists carved into the front and back of the hammer head, and a helmet made of steel with gold and platinum inlays decorating it.   He suspects these "yellow spiders" which are the size of men have the artifacts.

Now lost in the Underdark, Rayorr, Palanhilion, and Quinlan are joining Kylie and Korgan on this quest.

At least once it is over, the five should be able to find their way to the surface.

------------------------

Some other notes:  So far the map that the cleric Ga'ardoth has worked out.  There are some deviations due to changes in the envirnment in the Underdark (a tunnel was sealed off, for example), but you can trace where you have come so far.  You see the waterfall and know that you have two more chambers to go, the first a smallish one with a skull marking next to it on the map, and then the final large one where you expect to find the "yellow spiders".

From the look of things, the smaller chamber is going to take about an hour to get to from where you are and the larger one is another two hours from that one.

You still have two vials of the antitoxin, one on Kylie and one on Korgan.

Great, Mike, thanks!  :)  Those XPs are very helpful to me as I push closer to leveling.  :p  *giggles*  And I added that antitoxin to my character sheet, I didn't realize I had it.  :p

Never underestimate a barbarian with a two-handed weapon. Good thing he didn't rage.

Did the cleave attack hit?

Re: Returned

Hmm, yes, but now I have to bring in a whole horde of 'em for Korgan to kill or be killed by.  Prefferably the latter, that way I won't have to deal with this problem again.  You can hope that he wins, because the big battle is yet to come.

Re: Returned

Just wondering, could I try to escape on my turn with an Escape Artist-check instead of a Strength check like Korgan is doing?  Also, is spellcasting hindered in the webs in any way?

You can't move, and yes, you can escape with a DC13 Escape Artist check.

I'll be out of town from the 22nd to the 27th or the 28th to celebrate the holidays with my family, and won't be able to post here while I'm away.

Eh, my antibiothics are starting to kick in, but I'm not fully healed up yet.  Still, I tried posting in at least a couple of games last night, and now, I'm working on one I'm running myself here in RoA. . .

Posting order

What do you say to not having to post in initiative order?

What I mean is, you would be posting once per round, whenever during that round, and I would just sort out the order of things later.

This would eliminate not being able to post when you get on, and would thus make things go faster.  However, you wouldn't be able to take actions based on what people did earlier that round.  This, however, is realistic, because you're all acting at the same time, not one after the other.

Anyway, just wanted to put it up for a vote and see what you think.

Re: Posting order

I would say yes.  I don't have my pcs post in initiative order so we can move faster, and I think that most other RoA DMs do the same thing.  All that I've noticed anyway.

Re: Posting order

I see you've gotten halfway through the round without an update.

Kylie, the web has 6hp and 0 hardness, and takes double damage from fire.  Since it can't move to avoid your attack, I'll say you automatically hit.

Everythiing might as well back up for Kylie, because she might break Korgan free.  We'll start the whenever posting order after this next update.  Also, because I have to sort out more, you can expect the updates to take longer.
