Re: Posting order

You do know that a Gather info check takes both time and money, right?  One hour, I think, and I don't know how much money.

Re: Posting order

Post edited, and I rolled 3 hrs time to gather information which means Quinlan will spend most of the evening doing it (if he gets interrupted I guess he will learn less?). But he's got a hearty meal to eat so time shouldn't be that much of a trouble!

Re: Posting order

The time would always need to be spent, but the money doesn't always have to be spent, depending on the circumstances.  The money is supposed to represent buying drinks for people or bribing them for information.  Basically, Gather Information is meant for getting people to talk about stuff they normally wouldn't.
If you're just trying to see what's up with the local news or gossip (stuff people would naturally be talking about in bars anyway), you shouldn't have to spend any money.

Re: Posting order

That was what was intended, a few coins will probably be spent anyway, I'm not the type to nurse a drink ;-)

Re: Posting order

Remember, all new characters must be approved by DM HackDoc before they are allowed to enter play.
Kool and I will wait for a few more characters (who are on their way; just waiting on completion) before introducing the available adventure rumors...

If your character is ready (and HackDoc approved), go ahead and start posting in the tavern.

Quinlan, you were not here at the begginning of the last adventure, correct?
If so, did you come from the town?

I stumbled in through a portal from a cavern close to Scardale (i.e. transferred from the Dalelands).

I'd love some XP's!

Are we still waiting for incoming players or should we get this show on the road? The druid seems to be the silent kind...

Re: Officially started!

Ok! Here's an introduction to Quinlan (copied from the active PC's thread)

Quinlan Fairfellow: Rogueish acrobat with Ranger penchant. Quinlans odd looks comes form the fact that he is a half-Drow. He was born in Scardale, but his mother and him were driven from their village at an early age. He does not talk about his wereabouts since, only that he has been travelling for the past six months and recently arrived in the Dales (and from there ventured into the Underdark).
Quinlan is an easy-going fellow, who enjoys a good laugh and to entertain his entourage with his acrobatic skills (both during combat and while visiting Inns and fairs). He carries a longbow and a rapier at his side, hidden in his left boot is a dagger (he doesn't make that a secret among friends). Those around him can't help noticing he does seem somewhat vain, fussing over his appearance, clothes, etc. He is currently wearing a green leather tunic with silver thread embroideries over a dark, silky shirt (shimmering in purple). Tight fitting black pants in a supple fabric are tucked into a pair of soft leather boots. His travelling cloak has a deep hood which he often use to cover his face when travelling in less open minded regions.

Re: Officially started!

I am kinda stuck in the arm extended in a shake of forgiveness pose towards our large friend...Should I just edit it and go talk to the strange looking half-drow that more then likely I have never seen one before.  I know he may have seemed harsh but not one for being far from home before he is just playing around with his quips.

So, any plans to let us in on any new adventures? I think we're getting acquainted well enough to start an adventure.

Re: Officially started!

Our first adventure should probably be one that pays in healing potions, without a cleric we're going to need them. ;>

I'll notify Elfear and we'll get some adventure opportunities up.  I'll do my best to work them into the game, not just say they're there.
