I gave Quinlan a clue to follow.  Dardhelos and Garath, would you like a story branch to catch up with the others?  Or would you rather just show up there?

I would find a story branch helpful, partly for narrative reasons and partly to help me get used to the PbEM mechanics...  (If it isn't too much trouble; DM Kool, I gather from your posts you have some RL hecticness going on)

I know it sounds a little stupid but I wont continue on this game ... I believe that its better not join than join and then quit in short space of time , the game sounds good but its too slow for me and the story didn't really catch my interest as a player ... I hope there is no hard feeling if I leave ...

Gauge, Quinlan, would it make sense for us to use this time, while DM Kool procures another player, to introduce Garath onto the scene and have some in-game explanation of what is going on?  Would the town watch know where your characters are right now, so as to be able to send a messenger boy to lead Garath to you?

If I remember correctly the town set up a wanted poster for people that might could help.  Not being one to look back to find said information (a page or with how slow this part of ROA is) then I cant tell you precisely.  But I would just say its safe to say yes just so we have some interaction and perhaps get a 3rd or 4th page into the story.  This is almost as slow as the Wheel of time books.

OK, I'll post in the IC thread.  Please bear with me as I learn the ropes, protocol-wise.  E.g. this "godmodding" concept - I'm "commandeering" a NPC messenger boy to lead my character to where the group is clustered, not sure whether that is considered godmodding or not, but I figure I'll learn as I go.  Please correct me if I err.

Oh, and DM Kool - the system is reminding me that this thread is nearing the 1000 post limit, and that you should create a new OOC thread.

Just say, someone led you there.  I'm all for that, as long as it makes sense that someone would do that.

In the meantime, if Quinlan will work off the information I gave him, he could realise it anytime now...

I got another bunch of XP (112) from my latest arena fight, so I'm taking the liberty of leveling right now, before the fun begins! ;-)

Basically, I'm taking another level of ranger, two-weapon fighting style, and placing my ability point in DEX. I can detail the skillpoints as well, if you want?

My sheet is updated... I trust you find it ok?

What is this "arena" of which you doth speak?  How does one enter it, and is it limited to one character per fight?

Rtj there with the character you wish to enter, along with your RoA name(e.g. DM Kool), and someone will add you.  I, personally, am a little too busy for the arena, but I'll add you if I see your rtj.

I use it to test my characters in combat. It's quite useful that way.

Hmmm... my post-teenage ears fail to pick up on whatever subtext is bothering you, but, anyway, you're welcome to join us in a threesome and take on all comers, if Quinlan is okay with that.  (And if we can find willing sparring-partners).

Let me spell this out, then, for the avoidance of doubt and confusion:  If Quinlan is amenable, I would propose that Gauge join him and me in the Arena to form a group of three allied combatants, to enter into Arena fights as a group, against single or similarly grouped opponents.  Yes, the group would be unusually heavy on mage-types, but so be it.  I am also still game for an Arena fight of just Quinlan and Garath against whatever opponent, as per the current IC thread in the Arena forum.  (It may be easier to find Arena opponents for a group of two combatants than for a group of three).

I hope my meaning is clear - if anyone insists on reading subtexts into it, they do so at their hazard and I disclaim all liability therefor.
