I'll put the park-scene over in the GAME thread here it SHOULD have gone in the first place.

Sorry, all.

Re: BACK!!

Hi everyone and welcome back as we get things moving again!  I'd just like to mention a few things.  The first is that I hope you all are ok with the fact that Brin appears to be "driving the action" a bit at this point.  We kind of lost the party "front-man" when Kauri went on hiatus (DM Mike...is he still around?), so I have taken up that role for now.  I have no problem at all if that situation changes, and please don't let me railroad you down a path if you feel we should be doing something else.

Second, just to make sure we are all on the same page, Rystro, I am not ignoring you regarding Olive Rustkettle, I'm just waiting for the situation with the old man to resolve.  Brin's plan was to head down to meet her at 10 bells (what time IS that, anyway?) with only one or two companions to avoid overwhelming her.

Cheers everyone! Seems like things have picked up well despite the time/DM change.  These questions remain...Will Gall Tyder explode in a raging fury the next time he sees a dead child?  Will Rystro ever fit in? Will Korgan get to show us all his tumbling routine again?  Will Brin learn to stop saying what he thinks when he thinks it? Tune in next post!

Re: Waiting

What, nobody saw the "please take a number and wait your turn" sign come on?

Sorry...Waterdeep and Sword Coast South are dealing with climatic events in the region/adventure and that took a lot of time, and the new semester started up.

While I only teach one course, it is 3 hours, 4 days a week, and prep time is a nightmare, since there are no days off (the college is closed Fridays and weekends, so can't work there then).

But I will get back on tonight or tomorrow AM and pick things up again, now that the schedule at work for the first week is nearing an end.

Thanks for waiting!

Re: Waiting

It's really ok that I didn't hit sice I rolled a 2 on the attack to hit AC 10, but if a roll of 15 hitting AC 23 doesn't hit I think we're in trouble...unless magic is at hand :)

Re: Waiting

I'm lost...

How does a "15" to hit hit AC 23?

Did you not add your bonuses in the result you posted?  (meaning did you only roll a straight 15?)

If indeed you DID hit AC 23, you hit. but I did not see that reflected in your post, just that you got a 15 to hit.

Re: Waiting

It's no worries. I rolled a straight 15, but it was for initiative, giving me an initiative of 17.

I rolled a 2 (the roll) on attack, and don't mind keeping it. This should be a walk in the park anyway (I hope ;))

Re: Waiting

It's up to you.  You can keep the 15, but adjust it for your BAB, etc., then let me know what you get.

(You DID only miss by an inch or two with that 15, you know!)

Re: Waiting

Yeah, me to post! ;P

I thought I sent PMs to players telling them I would be away from my computer until today.  A quick trip to the PA Ren Faire came up out of the blue.

If I neglected to tell you, sorry.

Back now, and will get to the game ASAP.

Re: Waiting

Where is the NY one located?

And my family and I may go again to the PA one this year later.  I went with some folks from the Waterdeep group here on RoA and had a blast.  Didn't eat nearly as much as I wanted to (Mmmm....turkey legs....) or see as much as I wanted to (MISSED THE SWORD FIGHTS!!!) but saw the joust (Funny!), many great actors, and some old friends from cons, my old game store, etc. there.  Good bookstore there, too, and if you're a teacher like me, there is little in life better than a good bookstore.

You'll have a blast!

(Do you go in costume?)

Re: Waiting

A number of my friends work at the Ontario Renaissance Fair doing the fight shows.

It's great fun.  Also if you end up at the Texas National Renaissance Fair or Missouri (I think) look for a group called the Limey Birds.  They do a renaissance bawdy show, three buxom ladies singing and doing comedy and dance.

Hysterical.

Google for "limey birds" and I think their production website shows up.

Re: Waiting

The one in NY is in Sterling Forest. I live in Jersey, so its a 30 minute drive for me.

And of course I go in costume. Its not a great costume, but I don't hear people tell me I look terrible. I'm trying to get my hands on another outfit, e-bay maybe. Looking for the best deal possible since this sort of thing is an expensive hobby..:)

Re: Waiting

You can e-mail dm littlewing at ravenshivers@yahoo.com (put "RPoL" in the subject header so she knows to answer and not delete the message) and ask her for links to Ren Faire sites.  She has found some that she says have good prices.

We did not go in costume this time...THIS time.

But I want to get a costume going, too.

"King" is already taken, as is "Village Idiot", so I will have to try for something else.

Re: Waiting

You could be a peasant. That's my costume. Or a knight. My friend gets all dressed up in chainmail. Hardcore, let me tell you. I was thinking about a swashbuckler or something along those lines. I want to be able to use a sword with the costume. 'Cause everyone else carries swords. :)

The pickle vendor only wore this dinky dagger, but it was still cool.

I like the maces they sell, myself.  Brutal!

Re: Waiting

I saw a nice mace on ebay for relatively cheap. Something like 20 bucks. Not bad, eh?

Its probably where I'll get my sword. They go for 20 bucks, including shipping. Why spend a hundred or two for something that's only going to been seen in costume.

Re: Waiting

Because one might want an authentic Civil War vintage cavalry sword to hang on one's wall, especially one with a worn but good grip and hilt, as well as a few notches in the blade from chopping off various limbs...

I should say that the Union cavalry sabres are the least expensive, with footman's short swords, especially Confederate ones being the most expensive.
