The Moonsea – Rumors and Adventure Seeds

The dead have grown restless in the old graveyard once again.  The townsfolk fear that something within the old cemetery is causing these undead to rise.  Curiously, none of the risen undead have bothered the town much and seem more to be 'passing through' disappearing into the Quivering Forest.

An old ruined town was discovered on the edge of the Thar and that in the middle of the ruins a chute into darkness was discovered.  A group of young adventurers went in a week ago and have not been seen since.

The ogres of the Thar have grown bold of late.  Caravans to Glister have been attacked much more frequently and savagely.

Something is killing the children of Phlan in a grotesque way.  So far four bodies have been found, all severely emaciated.  The people are frightened and rumors are flying about the cause, from some sort of disease to attacks from an evil wizard.

Adventure Reply Posts for The Moonsea.

Here are the adventures curretnly offered for this region

Private Message me to let me know which is your first and which is your second choice adventure to undertake.  I'll be in touch soon regarding votes, etc.

Feel free to post IC in the Taverns forum concerning your choices, too.

Ratings: Listed in each path are the types of encounters players can expect in each adventure-- C =Combat, PS/L =Problem-solving and Logic, R =Roleplaying/Interaction with other PCs and NPCs.  NOTE that each adventure features all 3 areas, just in differing degrees, the most prevalent are first, followed by next, and last is least for that adventure.

A note on the PC levels listed below: The campaign starts with 2nd level PCs, so all these are listed for 2nd level PCs.  As PCs go up in level, I will adjust adventures accordingly.

Also, more adventures will be added once these are played out or once players express interest in certain types of adventures.

Re: Moonsea - Adventure Seeds & Rumors

Here are the adventures currently offered for this region

Private Message me to let me know which is your first choice and which is your second choice to undertake.  I will let you know which one wins and will introduce the adventure in Taverns.

If you want to discuss the choices please use the OCC Forum for out of character discussion and the Taverns thread for in character discussion.

Ratings:  Listed after each description will be the main two types of encounters the players can expect in each adventure.  NOTE:  each adventure may have all three types of encounters, just to differing degrees, the most prevalent first, followed by the next.

Combat – The adventure will be combat heavy, but not hack and slash.

Problem-solving and Logic – Think of this solving a mystery with the available clues.

Roleplaying/Interaction – This is interacting with other PCs and NPCs to gain the information or items you need.

The Dwarven Mystery

The Harpers are getting reports of unnatural deaths in the Dwarven Community of Phlan.  In the last 10-day, seven dwarfs are missing, four of the missing have been found floating in the bay encased in webs.  Reports from other regions indicate that this happening all over Faerun.  The Harpers would like you to sail east along the northern shore of The Moonsea and check out the extent that this is happening in the other cities.  (Equal amount of Role-Playing and Problem solving, followed closely by combat)

Treasure Hunt

You have heard of great warrior and his lady that ruled a small keep in the mountains between Vaasa and The Moonsea.  For more than 30 years they held the line from the evil out of the north, but age caught up with them.  Their keep was over-run by a band of ogres and hobgoblins about five years ago.  There have been reports of no one surviving the attack.  The Lord and his Lady were reportedly to have had several weapons of power and magic items.  None of these things have ever been seen or heard about in the pass five years.   (Combat and Problem-solving)

The Little Old Lady from Phlan

A little elderly Gnome lady requests that you help recover some stolen goods.  Five days ago, her house was robbed of a chest of magical gems that her Great-Great-Grandfather created.  Her local agents have found and punished the thief.  However, he had sold the stones to an agent of a gem dealer in the town of Melvaunt.  She needs someone to escort her agent to Melvaunt to recover the gems.  She is willing to pay you 10% of the fees needed to recover the gems.  (Role-Playing and Combat)
