Re: Hooray

I am, but I'm at a loss on what to do or post right now...  Sorry, I'll try thinking of something, I guess.  We just suddenly moved forward so much, and I think I got lost, so I'll probably just have Elodeir tag along to see what happens.

I'm all ready to forge ahead and check things out but it sounds like maybe I should wait for others to be able to be more involved. Anyone have a comment on that? Drake what do you think?

Re: Hooray

Sorry to get things going wrong, all.

I find I can only get on twice, maybe three times a week with my new job, so my posts have got to move things ahead more than they did in the past.

In effect, it seems all paths lead to the slaughterhouse/rending plant owned by a band of brothers known as the Sharks.  You doubt "Shark" is their real last name, but that is what everyone calls them.

Apparently Constance Ilithane, the necromancer you're investigating, has some sort of connection to one of the Shark brothers.

You can not get to Constance (at this point), but you can probably get to the Shark man/men here at the slaughterhouse.

Ditto on some of that for me.  Had a killer headache last night. when I'd meant to post, and busy the rest of the time.

I'll do all I can to get on later tonight and post.

Feels like 12, more like 6 or 7.

I co-DM some regions in RoA, so things flow between 6 and 7 games.

Now...On to OUR region!

Expert DM

Wow Mike. I wish I was that talented. The one time I tried to be DM (different FR game in RPoL, not associated with RoA) the game started and stopped and stuttered and started and stopped again. It was bad. I'd make a great DM-Assistant but I'm no good at running things myself.

It hardly seems fair that you have to keep up with so much at once. Kudos to you for doing the great job you do. Do you need DM-Assistant?

What now?

DM Mike:
The front door of the rendering house opens and a handsome and slender man with bright blue eyes and long blonde hair comes out, wrapping an expensive-looking red cape about him.  He sees you and bows.
Well met.  Are you awaiting an order or simply lost down here in the docks?

Okay everybody, what do we do now? I’m thinking we need some excuse to be down at the docks, possibly “we want to place an order but we want to see your operation before we put in our order”. That will hopefully get us a tour of the place and maybe one of us can step away from the tour to poke around.

OR we could just ask to talk to Durken Shark and ask what he was doing with Constance Ilithrane. Maybe we can “offer our services” to find out what his business is.

OR we could threaten the handsome slender man and force him to answer our questions.

I don’t want to just plow ahead and blurt out the first thing that comes to mind without everyone’s input. Whatever we do we should find out who he is at least.

Or, I could cast three Scorching Rays at the wall of the house, wait for everyone to run out screaming, and then you drop a net on top of them all, giving us a perfect chance to interrogate them!  >:)

Not that Elodeir would suggest that IC, of course, he's much too nice for that.  :p  (I'm not, though!  >:)  )

Elodeir, as entertaining as that sounds, it's not a very constructive suggestion. Do we even have a big net?

Oh wait, that was supposed to be a joke right? For a minute there I thought you were trying to be helpful. Silly me. <giggles>

Well, we're at the docks, there's bound to be lots of big nets for sale around there.  :p

More seriously, though, I think the first of your suggestions would do best, at least to begin with - at least it might get us inside, right?

Re: What now?

I volunteer to be somebody's secretary or assistant or something. Who wants to be the boss that wants to place the order and get a tour?

Who wants to use one of the other ideas? Does anybody want to just walk away instead?

Like I said, I'm happy to go right in and snoop around but it wouldn't be fair to everyone else if I went alone. At least it wouldn't be fair unless everyone says they don't want to go in. And then it could be dangerous for me.

Vermin Dwarves

DM Mike:
OOC:  PS: Poison use is illegal in Iliptur except to kill vermin.  Dwarves are not considered vermin.

*laughs* That's funny Mike. Not only for a sort of dry stating-the-obvious sort of joke. But also because it almost makes you think that in some areas Dwarves ARE considered vermin, just not in Iliptur.

Aw, are you sure?  I've always thought they were vermin.  ;)

DM Mike:
Now, "illegal" in a rough and tumble port like this is sort of like "fair" in the first World Series game this year where the pitcher used pine tar to help hold the ball...

Second game, but you're right.  *mumbles about cheaters taking away her team's near-sweep in the Series*

Yeah, I couldn't keep track of what happened in what game if you paid me, other than the Cards won and the pitcher in question should be booted from the game for life.

They're still hanging Pete Rose for what he did, but this yutz gets off with only a bit of razzing in the press?!?  (or has something really happened to him?)

A Great Idea

DM Mike:
OOC: Oh boy, a fantasy poker game!

Oh boy is right! Mike I could almost kiss you! This should be a lot of fun.

Just so I can be sure I have the whole picture, who's still in this game? Drake and Elodeir have posted recently. Did anybody quit?

I've got a lot of ideas for how I am going to react to this situation but part of it depends on who is still with Amylarn in the tavern.

Later...
I saw Drake posted so he's still here. Anybody else?

Re: A Great Idea

Aren't we supposed to keep out RPing in our orininal card post.  I just want to make sure. I thought that we kept our responses in a single post, editing it when needed.

If not I will post as normal. It is hard to keep track of what is going on conversation-wise.

Re: A Great Idea

Little snippets of RPing are fine, since that goes on at the table to rattle players here and there.

But anything more than a line or so should go in the game thread.

Yes, edit posts as need be, but alert us to edits by putting in something like Edit: 12/1 so we know it was changed and when.

Re: A Great Idea

DM Mike, I know it would be more work for you, but would you mind doing part of the edits for us? Take the posts and comments from the Dragons High thread that I and Elodeir and others made and move them to the Adventure thread? Obviously we could try this but we would almost certainly get them out of order or something. Plus that would give you the opportunity to show us what you meant for the poker thread to look like.

Pretty please?

Will do.

Bets go in the poker thread.
