Re: The Cold Lands: OOC

Ok, I guess it will be much better to put the languages you know into your description, that way they won't get lost in the numerous posts of the ooc, as I doubt people will remember those languages in 6 months from here.

btw: I know all spoken and written languages, so I won't put them into my description ;-)

*grins widely* These (at the town hall) are the scenes they incorporate into movies just to please the director.

Re: The Cold Lands: OOC

I wonder if, Filean didn't had said he was holding a dagger in the boot, the alarm would go off ;P

Now that I think of it, I forgot to put my Wand inside the box...

Ah ah, it's so much fun, messing with DMs head!

Re: The Cold Lands: OOC

Angry dwarf looks balefully at elf trying to be cute...

Angry dwarf bellows in rage trying to get the attention of the person needed...

Angry dwarf hopes the building does not collapse at the sound of his bellow...

Angry dwarf pays off the fine caused by cunning elf...

Angry dwarf WILL take it out on the cunning elf's hide...

Angry dwarf is just... angry...

Angry dwarf needs dwarven mead.

After dwarven mead is drunk... angry dwarf is no longer angry.

Rinse, lather and repeat. :)

Re: The Cold Lands: OOC

The alarm didn't go off at Mundin's armor either... maybe the spell only recognizes weapons, not magical paraphenalia which might hold a harmful spell? Or maybe the whole town hall is covered under an antimagic shell so nobody needs to worry? Oh well... so many ways to mess with the player's heads...

Or maybe the DM did not think about it at time and spend the last 5 hour coming up with the above...

he he - hope DM can take joke or Thamol life expectancy just hit 0.

Re: The Cold Lands: OOC

Hold your gold, angry dwarf.  Money means far less to cunning yet loveable and handsome elf than to stocky, greedy, mining types.  Though, by rights, Filean should at least charge a cover for the entertainment.  Hmm ... maybe he'll bring that up later. Now seems like a bad time.

But he does have to practice those acting skills for when he convinces the necromancer that we're there to help him, right?

On a related note, it's nice for once to say "Thank you dice roller" rather than using another, more objectionable word before the "you" in that sentence. Phew!

Re: The Cold Lands: OOC

Funny thing about the dice-roller. On a game I'm Co-DMing, the dice is quite benevolent with the players, though the DMs usually don't get more than 10 in a d20 roll.

Here at RoA, I remember the dice-roller being mean with everyone. Battles tend to take forever that way, which is nice.... :P

Or maybe the alarm went off at Filean, not at his dagger...uh..that makes me think...

Who here recalls the airport scene from "This Is Spinal Tap"?  Perhaps that's what set off the alarm!

Heya guys! How's it hanging? Sorry, I've been unable to post these days. All my friends that are studying in other cities came back to visit and I've been out every single day every single hour when I was not asleep...

Oh, I wish you all a happy new year! Gotta go check what's happened up till now, though... ~_~

Nice to see you're still around, Criston was already missing you! LoL! Happy New Year!

Re: The Cold Lands: OOC

Thamol, Quansil... as much as I enjoy the discussion you two are having, there are some details I ask you to observe: First put the languages into your descriptions, that way the other players can always be added to the private lines when you talk (that goes for Feremar too). Secondly: Please put up a description, it might become important with PC/NPC interaction (a description is made up by a physical description, items which are prominent (either because of frequent use or excellent quality) and if you wish adding the basic mood the character is in (brooding, happy, grumpy...)

Thank you.

Re: The Cold Lands: OOC

Umm, let's see... No languages other than common... No items of any quality at all... Happy always... Yeah, I guess that's all! ^_^

Oh, what should I put into a private line for everyone? Since I didn't speak to anyone, I mean... Should I post my actions for everyone to see and as an OOC comment? That can be done easily! 6^_^;

Question: Based on where we are now, are the rest of us hearing the current exchange between my wonderful elven brethren?

Re: The Cold Lands: OOC

OOC: To Haroldar Quarig, in many communities that are ruled or respect the druid way of life a person is often given a name as child by the druid.  Later other names are added or change base of events and what a person does.  These names are pass on to other groups and druids in area.  Sometimes using nature it self.  It clear that Thamol has used this type of naming and believes he has right to do so.
This subject to DM over running this - I spent 4 years in Wales and a Celtic town.  It's based on this experience and also on the use of names in bible.  In lot games demons have names and you can bind them if know it.  Names have power or can decrease it.

I tried to post the full thing for your fun but web site went bit nuts over the amount I was posting.

Re: The Cold Lands: OOC

Thamol, Quansil thank you for this very amusing interlude but I think it is enough right now.

Haroldar: You probably mean if you were in earshot of the two... Yes, you could overhear the conversation of the two, yet both speak too low to make out individual words. But it is clear that it's a disagreement.

NP I been trying to tread a fine line between thamol defending himself and the whole thing getting out of hand.  That why been keeping my eye open to your post on it.  I will move story on.

Re: The Cold Lands: OOC

And gentlemen, in the future, if you're going to make a scene, please do it publicly, not in those silly PMs.  It's much more fun for the others if you make a public spectacle of yourselves, just like me!
