Re: Cold Lands: OOC

Talvaroff, while not being a complete muscle-bound oaf, is still not the sharpest sword in the army.  He doesn't know that.  All he knows is that it gets really stuffy in there in the summertime.  :)

Re: Cold Lands: OOC

I dunno.  I don't think it's a 'booksmart' sort of thing (which has something to do with intelligence and whatnot), when metal armor is actively chilly to the touch during cold weather.  Besides, Talveroff probably notices his manhood shrinking when he's wearing only metal armor during winter.

Re: Cold Lands: OOC

You have to wear a couple dozen layers of padding, or else you'd chafe yourself to a quivering little mass of rash.  And metal conducts heat just as well as cold.
All in all, it's just an early-morning, groggy thought.

Re: Cold Lands: OOC

Exp thread has been updated.  Not very impressive, compared to the last time (which had an encounter and end of Arc bonus tacked on, on top of whole month worth of stuff).  But every bit helps…

DM Fido, as far as I can tell, didn't specify where you run into Ronal.  I decided it's Talagbar, just because.

Re: Cold Lands: OOC

Ronal is the little kid who hired 'the original group' (Well, not really the original group.  But original group when I took over.  Mundin, Depiron, Penville, Lexis, Thamol, Tarmes and Zar'da are the members when I took over) to hunt down Neconlius.

They met in some unnamed 'large city' (Fido never specified).  I'm deciding it's Talagbar.  Thamol also took the lone surviver from the villege to there.

I am indeed driving the cart but I can not use Handle Animal untrained so do you want a ride check or just the survival check?

SRD:
If you have no ranks in Handle Animal, you can use a Charisma check to handle and push domestic animals, but you can’t teach, rear, or train animals.

Horse = domestic animal.

So you can do it untrained in this case.

I was looking at the cast the other day, and I happened to see that Penville's player had last logged in yesterday.  So I had a feeling we would be hearing from him soon. :)

Oh god. I'm back. You're all doomed. We're all going to die (a tautology).

Still very busy and having now remembered RPOL (as opposed to when I forgot it) I am going to try again! :) But atm this and one other game (which appears to be dead) are all I'm in, to see how well it works. Ah looking for job/car/house/lady takes up a lot of time!

Hey, at least you have a table-top game.  I haven't done one of those in years :|

Re: Cold Lands: OOC

What's a 'table-top' game? Oh, wait, isn't that where you set your computer up on the dinning room table and stay up all night playing D&D with a group over the internet?

I had a group here on rpol that would get together every other month or so and stay up all night playing over msm. Good times those. Scheduling was a bit of a challenge though.

Re: Cold Lands: OOC

I miss the good ole days of REAL table top gaming. Sitting around a slightly too small table, Mountain Dew flowing like jitter inducing water, Hot Pockets and whatever other microwave/quick oven fair we could afford at the time, the feel of the dice as they left your hand hoping and praying to get the ellusive 20, the eye straining dimmed lights for "effect". Ah, good times good times!

Re: Cold Lands: OOC

Not too long ago for me...  A friend of our runs 2nd ed tabletop game, has a whole world worked up.  Mainly Root Beer and sausage biscuits and many laughs(not much playing), but still good times.  He doesn't seems to play much, been ages since we got together around that too-small table.  Tried introducing him to RPoL at one point, don't think he really took to it...

Incidentally, have any of you NOT seen this?

Re: Cold Lands: OOC

There is a thread?

No in my absense I have created a club in my area.
Now got 11 people?!
Started with me. Got 4 others but never managed to meet more than one at once. Then they dropped out except 1.
Then added another guy and a gal arrived.
well the story can be found here:
http://www.geocities.com/egrek2000/rpg/rpg.htm

So it shows, from no where you CAN get a group together.

We're wondering about advertising more, but we have enough people really. As another two just joined on wednesday!

I am playing a shapechanging ranger in the D&D group which we're playing with rotating GMs. Working really well. No pressure and everyones enjoying it. Also means everyone plays most of the time.
