Re: Cold Lands: OOC
Note:
When you have lethal damage and non-lethal damage, they must be kept track separately.
This is how they work.
Let's say you have 20 maximum hit points and start out with 20 current hit points. If you take 10 points of regular (lethal) damage, your current hit points will be 10.
Now, let's say you take 5 points of non-lethal damage. Your current hit points remains at 10, but now you have separate '5 points of non-lethal damage'. Do not deduct the nonlethal damage number from your current hit points. It is not “real” damage.
When your current hit points = 0, you are disabled, and < 0 and you are dying and unconsious.
When your current hit points is > 0, but = non-lethal damage, you are staggered. When your current hit points is > 0 and < non-lethal damage, you are unconsicous (but not dying).
So, in the example, you are at 10 hit points, with 5 non-lethal damage. If you take 5 more lethal damage, you will be staggered because your current hit points becomes 5, and you have 5 non-lethal damage. If you instead take 6 more non-lethal damage, then you will be unconscious, because your current hit points remain at 10, but your new non-lethal damage goes up to 11.
When you receive magical healing (Not fast healing), you raise your current hit points and you remove non-lethal damage at the same time, with the same amount.
So, for example, in above example where the character has 10 current hit points, and 5 points of non-lethal damage, if someone heals the character for 8 points using Cure Light Wounds, the current hit points will go up to 18, and at the same time, non-lethal damage is erased to 0.
