OOC:  Part 2

Well, I have two people at least who have expressed interest, so welcome Lurker V and Lurker S.

So, what type of adventurers are you guys interested in?  What type of characters do you enjoy playing?

Re: OOC:  Part 2

Now that should work better!

If your unsure of any new rules, let me know.  We don't have to use anything that I am typing up from the D20 Mass Effect, if you want to go for a simpler campaign.

I have a couple of ideas, adventure wise, but the great thing about Dragonstar is that you can pretty much do anything, it is a big galaxy after all.  So if you like a certain type of game, let me know.

Well, seeing as your the only ones who posted an interest, and sent a RTJ, I figured you could choose what type of campaign you would like to play in.  If you want more, I could open up a Wanted Players thread.

Here are a few suggestion Lurker V had for an evil campaign.

Agents for the Empire, cult squashers, paranormal investigators, bounty hunters or assassins.  Maybe evil church reps, spreading the word by word and sword.

In reply to GM (msg # 6):

We could be pawns in some sort of Galactic Machavelian Chess game between noble houses or powerful groups/institutions.

I would enjoy something a bit larger in scope not simply a daily grind for cash and survival.  I am thinking something akin to planescape where everything is there - an eclectic mash of every cool race, critter, entity.

I could see my toon being a troll or ogre or a a salamander or type something demon or a bugbear or an evil pixie, maybe a werewolfoid thing or a space Sahuagin or a ghoul or githyanki or umber hulk or the essence/soul of an undead star.

If that too over the top I can do an evil elf.

Re: OOC:  Part 2

Some of the monstrous are a little out there, though not impossible.

werewolfoid - Could be a Shifter.

space Sahuagin - Sahuagin with the Space-Breed template.

essence/soul of an undead star - this would be a little tricky, but my thought is perhaps a Soulmech, powered by the negative energy of the star.

Githyanki, Ghoul, Umberhulk, Troll, Ogre, Bugbear are all, while not entirely common, it won't be shoot on sight.

Demons and Pixies...  I would say the Fey would suffer around the technology of the Empire, while Outsiders in general are, if not openly frowned upon, more than likely will be taken in to custody.  Demons and Devils tend to ignore mortal rules, as do Celestials, even when on the material plane.

I would definitely like it to be more epic in scale than say... smuggling a load of illegal whatevers to whomever.

That said, I like the ideas presented. It wouldn't seem impossible to use them ALL in various degrees.

Though I have posted a bunch of special snowflake character concepts, I am more than willing to tone it down if you would like.

In addition, I mention a game of more epic scale but I would enjoy running a level 1 character.  I do not have to be a level 6/4/4 Fighter Warlock Space Magus. I like character growth and development through play.

Ooooo Predator / Sith Lord...  There is an idea...

http://www.swagbucks.com/?t=i&q=predator+sith+lord

So, speaking character level wise, originally, I start my games at 5th, but if you guys desire, 1st is ok, since I give extra hit points due to deadliness of weapons.

I am not opposed to weird creatures at all, we just need to adapt them to the setting.  It is a bonus that with Gestalt, you can put racial levels on one side, while still maintaining your main class on the other.

I am thinking, if you desire a semi-evil campaign, would you like to work for the Emperor, ISPD, one of the Houses of Asamet (Red, Blue, Green, Black or White)?  Or you can even be freelance, though you two would have to decide how you agreed to work together, and what your goals would be.

For  previous character, I reworked the Soulknife into a more Jedi-like flavor.  They played  a Soulknife//Psychic Warrior, and it worked pretty well.  Soulknife for Lightsaber, Psychic Warrior for Force Techniques.

Like I said, if you have a concept you really want to play, I have a Galaxy full of possibilities.

How close to the Evil Hunter type are you wanting?  Do you want traditional Yautja weapons/equipment, or an actual light-sabre, or maybe saber-claw(s)?

And with this, the question is, why are you working with prey?  I would imagine you are an outcast of your clans, hiding amongst the Empire for some misdeed.

And then, Lurker V, what concept are you interested in?

Re: OOC:  Part 2

saber-claws for sure! other Yautja weapons(shoulder cannon and stuff) would be cool if I was really pressed in a fire fight.

I think my character would view the Force as another way to track/hunt prey down. The rest of his clan may view it in poor light, which is fine they could hunt me too. Perhaps he used the force to kill the clan head?

random and off the top of my head. any changes or outright rewriting is just fine.

Re: OOC:  Part 2

So, give me a day or two to get your character set up, Lurker S.  Do you have a name in mind?

So, my thoughts on the Yautja history:  The Yautja where once Orcs from a jungle world far from the center of the Serpent Eye Galaxy.  In the times before the Star League, many thousands of years before, an ancient civilization whose name the Yautja cannot recall, genetically engineered these Orcs from savage barbarians, barely able to craft crude weapons from bone and stone, to an almost Imperial level of intelligence and technology.  They were trained in the ways of hunting, of the blood sport, for this ancient civilization was at war with a terrible aberration civilization.  Both sides used powerful biological engineering and psionics in their war.  In the end, both civilizations died off, leaving behind the remnants of their war across the galaxy.  Scattered and broken, the Yautja fled to their home world, seeking to condense their people and continue their culture of Honor and Hunting.  Although advanced for their time, the Yautja did not fully understand their technology, they slowly withdrew back to their more primitive states, forgetting how to craft their vessels, improve upon them, and even losing much of their psionic potential.  All that matter was the Hunt, and Honor.

Good background?

Lurker V, any idea on your character?

If he's a psychic warrior, instead of wilder, is there a psychic ability to enhance his speed... something like a psychic haste spell?

And for feats I'd have to check, I would like two weapon fighting for sure, claws on both hands... if I need that. Otherwise I'm open to suggestions :)

So, psionic/fighter feat possibilities:

Up the Walls - Ignore gravity while moving basically along surfaces.
Speed of Thought - +10ft base speed.
Mental Leap - Expend psionic focus to gain jump bonus.

Psychic Warrior Powers 1st level (That seem to fit your theme):

Burst
Cat fall
Chameleon
Precognition (Defensive)
Precognition (Offensive)
Prescience (Offensive)

Alignment ?  I would imagine Neutral Evil, perhaps Chaotic Evil.  I could be wrong though.

Re: OOC:  Part 2

At 1st level you get one psionic power known.  As you go up in levels, you get more.

As for the feats, as this is first level, you get one of those feats.

Eventually, you can choose more feats, even those feats if you want.

Burst - 1 round +10ft speed.
Cat fall - removes some falling damage.
Chameleon -  bonus to hide checks.
Precognition (Defensive) - bonus to defense.
Precognition (Offensive) - bonus to attack rolls.
Prescience (Offensive) - bonus to damage rolls.

1.  Start a New Character.

Re: OOC:  Part 2

That is true.

The gods of this game are varied and many.  From the Destroyer (Destruction, Chaos, Evil) to the Reaper (Law, Evil, Death) are your only evil gods that may answer.  It is unlikely that any other gods, who are neutral and good, would answer your prayer.  There is an offshot of the mainstream religion, with only two gods.  The Creator (Lawful and Good) and the Adversary (Chaotic and Evil).  And as you have said, Ancient spirits could answer your prayers, though they may be harder to appease than a god.

So, if you pray, do so, and we shall see how well it is received.

A death in the family is taking its toll on me, and I am hesitant to continue this game in its current state.  I love the setting, but I am finding myself less and less time able to post, and two weeks is a terrible long time for you to wait.

If you wish to hold on, I will strive to improve my post rate, but if you do not, I shall not be offended, especially given how long you have waited.

Re: OOC:  Part 2

Sorry for your loss, I hate to hear that. Need to talk, I'll listen boss. I'll wait around, no big deal. You wanna continue we will, you decide not to, just rmail me and we can stay in contact for future games.

Re: OOC:  Part 2

I thank you for the wait, it has been hectic for the past two weeks.  Let me see about getting caught up, and where we can go from there.

Re: OOC:  Part 2

no worries on my end boss. it's been hectic for me too, albeit not to the level of your hecticness. I'm here whenever you're ready.
