Re: 4: Mail Call
Roice shakes his head as he throttles up.  "I don't know why, I have a bad feeling about this.  Oh wait, I do know, it's all the dangerously stupid things were about to try."

"Hey, so long as we're trying something." Harry half grumbles over the head set as he makes for the bridge to try and plug in C-box.

Garret focused on making no noise whatsoever and hoped Bola would overlook his presence on the ship.

Re: 4: Mail Call
Selous finds a socket on the bridge and plugs in Chatterbox's remote.  The droid quickly establishes a communications link between the two ships and, using his access to the Tracker's slave circuit, quickly links the navigational systems together.  "Well, that's my part complete," he says.  "Just punch in the coordinates for the return home over there and the Sun Tracker will receive the info.  With luck, this should go smoothly and in 12 hours or so we'll be back."

Bola returns from his inspection of the engines and climbs into the pilot's seat.  "Yoosa might wanna go strap down 'da Naboo in case things get bumpy," he says casually.  "One more bump and heesa gonna croak, yeah?" The Gungan chuckles, obviously amused at the thought.  "Holdin' on to yoosa butts," he says over the comm.  "Jump ready, weesa goin' now."

Bola maneuvers the 720 into the appropriate vector, the Sun Tracker moving automatically to stay in position alongside.  Both freighters rev up their hyperdrives and slingshot to lightspeed, vanishing into hyperspace.

-----------------------

On the 720: Things go fairly smoothly.  Bola seems in a good mood and is amusing himself by poking around the cargo bays.  Haskel is lying on a couch in the galley, still too weak to do much.  Naturally, the Gungan hasn't offered to help him.

On the Sun Tracker: The flight so far has been uneventful.  Roice and Strickland are busy keeping their stations in order--Roice making micro-adjustments to keep the freighter on the proper flight path and Strickland constantly monitoring and tweaking the hyperwave signal between the two ships.  Aggie is still in the engine room, keeping an eye on the cranky hyperdrive and working on a side-project with Forem.

All in all, it seems like things are finally on an even keel.

Harry heads towards the lounge, checking in on Haskel.

"You good here for now? I wanna go check out whats in the cargo bay, see if maybe they've got guns or armor back there."

"I'm well enough for now; just extremely bored. Is this trip almost over yet?"

12 hours more on the couch after an indeterminate time on the floor. Nothing to do or read and he couldn't even check out the turret on this scrap heap and Bola is on board. At least his day can't get much worse than it is.

"Ok, cool." Harry said with a pat on Haskel's unshot shoulder before heading for the cargo bays. Boredom was half of what Harry did in this crew, so he figured if he could handle it, Haskel could.

Harry went to the cargo bays and began to dig around in the boxes and containers in the hops of finding something that would help him perform his tasks.

Re: 4: Mail Call
Selous: Your examination of the port-side cargo bay turns up a couple of rather interesting finds.  Under a tarp is a dirty, well-used SoroSuub V-35 Courier landspeeder.

The forward section of the bay has been converted into a workshop area.  Nosing around you find various tools for repairs and weapon/tool modification.  You also find a couple of rather technical pieces of equipment that the workshop seems built around.  It doesn't take much prodding before you find out that the devices are a mass spectrometer and an automated ore sampling device.

"Hey, Selous," Bola calls as he enters the bay, "I theenk the peoples that ownin' 'dis ship mebbe miners." He's holding a bulky-looking device in both hands.  "Got an ore sniffer here and 'dere be lots more of 'dis kinda junk inna other bay."

Aggie: As you scamper out of the engine room for a moment you notice a woman you've never seen before standing in the cargo bay.  It must be the Zone woman Splynn sent the group to bust out of prison.  She's peeking under the shipping pads swaddling the package that is the ship's sole cargo.

"I think you're probably right Bola, they've got an automated Ore sampling device in here." Harry called, sticking his head out of the workshop, "But it couldn't have been legal. I mean why would law abiding miners go through all the trouble of retrofitting a fighter to one of the escape pod hatches?"

Selous: "Beatin' me..." the Gungan shrugs, setting down the scanner and going to inspect the speeder.  "Whole ship needs a bath..." he mutters.

"Well, when we get back home, we could definitely use this land speeder. Anything useful in the other bay?" Harry asked, pretty much killing time till the jump finished, unless of course he found something that he personally could use.

Roice glances at a console and sees that the engineering bulkhead interlock is showing the door opened, and stands.

"She's out.  You square?" he asks Strickland.  "I'm gonna go check on her."

He makes his way out to the stairs and calls down to her.  "Aggie?  You all right?"

Roice: Aggie skitters back to the engine room, either not hearing you or ignoring your attempts to talk to her.

However, you notice Zone poking around the wrapped package for Splynn.  She immediately straightens up and tries to look casual when she hears your voice.

Hearing the voice she glances back in fright, a terrible burn on her temple is vissible. Her hads are full with boxes and junk, including some medical supplies and food. Her eyes appear scared and haunted.

"Go away, you left me alone with that mad gungan. He tried to kill me. He destroyed the droids as well and made a mess of things."

He walks up slowly and gently takes some of the boxes from her.

"We will clean up the mess," he says quietly, matter of factly.  "If you hadn't done exactly what you did, he would have left without us, we'd all be arrested, and the mission would have failed.  You did exactly what needed to be done.  And if it hadn't been you, he would have done the same to any of us.  We did it in spite of him."

He puts the boxes down on a table, and says quietly, "We will deal with him, when the time is right, I promise."

He straightens up.  "Let me help you look at Q7."

Roice nods.

"He'll have to come through all of us first.  Count on it."

He gingerly touches the wound on her temple and winces.  "You need to get something on this.  Take care of that first, then we fix Q7."

He smiles assuredly and then heads back to the bridge.

Re: 4: Mail Call
After 12 long, boring hours traveling through hyperspace, the two ships finally arrive in orbit of Gaurick.  Landing goes without incident, although the hangar is now quite crowded with two freighters in it.

Upon disembarking, G-3PO, the hangar's protocol droid greets you all and hopes that your trip was uneventful.  A statement that trails off into stuttered silence as Aggie with her blaster-burned head, and Haskel, being carried on a makeshift stretcher by Selous and Strickland, pass by.

"I-I'll prepare the bacta tank," the droid says, hurrying off.

"Well," Bola says with surprising enthusiasm, "Nobody be dyin', weesa gettin' back in one piece, and I got to shoot a bunch a' Imps.  Good day." The Gungan walks off into the living quarters of the hangar.

OOC: You're "home" now and free to move about the cabin (please post in the Homebase thread).  I'll have CPs tallied and posted tonight. :)
