Re: OOC 2
As Dackson knows, I'm part of a D&D game on the radio on Fridays during the semester. Well, I've been consulting a friend about my character and I decided on a... well, here we go.

quote:
Rhythm is a warforged painted red, wearing a primitive version of the eyes used by modern warforged which resemble sunglasses. On the bottom of his foot, the symbols 550-N-000 signify that he was the first out of his creator's workshop- two ancient tinkerers by the name of Tom Lumen and Albert Crafty, according to him. As a prototype of modern warforged, he has deficiencies in melee combat but makes up for this with his Eldritch Blaster, a powerful cannon which uses the arcane energy that animates him to attack his enemies and activate various weapons systems he acquired from Crafty's Warforged after he attempted to use them to take over the world. His scarf of charisma flutters dramatically behind him and his inner workings have a tendency to whistle as the wind passes through them, and his shield provides a good deal of protection. In an emergency, he'll use a shield bash to distance himself from his opponents.

For a time, he worried about whether or not he was truly sentient, until his "Father", Professor Lumen, told him that "Mithril, and Steel, magic and stones make up my son. This world gave me no child so I built one. I made you in my image- I built your heart, I gave you eyes, I gave you power, a since of justice beyond any compare. I gave you hands, some reddish paint... but that burning in your heart I did not put there."

Oh, and he comes with a picture: http://i.imgur.com/0lUrF.jpg

Now, I just need to finish building him. Thinking I should probably drop the two levels of fighter and monk said friend suggested...

One of my most hated of the (admittedly oldschool and thus outdated) D&D rules is as follows, and I quote:

Nonsense rule:
Like a member of any other class, a monk may be a multiclass character, but multiclass monks face a special restriction. A monk who gains a new class or (if already multiclass) raises another class by a level may never again raise her monk level, though she retains all her monk abilities.

Re: OOC 2
Yeah, the DM said that was dumb too as long as we could justify it.

I said "Fighter training was part of the monk training, and all the warlock levels are mechanical parts built in."

Re: OOC 2
Especially dumb in my opinion if, say, you have a sorcerer. Sorcerers are born with magic. So... "oh no! Their inner magic got better! This disturbs your rigorous physical and mental training somehow"

XD I guess they were trying HARD to discourage monk multiclassing. If so, they should have just said "a monk can't multiclass" XD

Re: OOC 2
That was another thing we agreed on. Sorcerers could multiclass freely into "You can no longer gain levels in this class if you take another level" type deals.

Dackson Kulname:
Dackson grabs one of the packs, glad that at least the gear is already stored travel style instead of large surplus pointy cornered boxes.

SoroSuub!  Blazing the way to the next century!  Not only do our ships survive reentry without disintegrating and our stock escape pods survive crashing through dozens of trees without so much as a scratch on the occupants, (Limited Warrenty.  Not designed for use by abnormally sized beings.) but our conveniently designed survival packs come with easy-carry straps!  Broad spectrum rations are nutritious and tasty for most carbon based life forms and will keep for centuries...

Just saw the funniest thing!

Woman's Olympic Football kicked-off in Scotland the other day.  Cameroon played North Korea.

The South Korean Flag was put up on the big screen next to their names.  The little commie luv's got the hump and walked off the pitch for a full 1 hour sulk.  Then they came back on and WON 2-0!

This made me chuckle...

They weren't sulking for an hour, they were getting their government-mandated drug injections.  After all, once you're on the field, they aren't testing your urine. ;)

The South Korea slap in the face ("This is the Korea we like...") is awesome, I must say. :D

Although, after seeing this, I'm not so sure I like South Korea as much...

Just FYI, every grenade that you drop out the door and successfully detonate is considered an act of terrorism.

So, y'know, don't get caught would be my advice for you guys fleeing the cops... ;)

I'll get everything updated tomorrow, folks.  It's late and my brain says "No more computer!" right now...

Any of you familiar with Fiasco: last night we ran a Republic-Era Star Wars Fiasco playset which was quite epic.

Those of you not familiar with Fiasco by Bully Pulpit Games should check it out, though I'll be the first to admit that it's not necessarily for everybody.

Re: OOC 2
I've heard about it, and was curious to learn how it plays in practice.  Does it play out as they describe?  Where you're lucky to avoid a TPK much less end with your characters as well off as they started?

Re: OOC 2
It plays out pretty much as described, though I should say that if you watch those TableTops, our style of play tends to be quite a bit more physically descriptive as opposed to mostly narrative.  We spend a lot of time setting up the scene and describing among us what is happening, twists that are introduced, if one idea is better than another, if there are shout-outs to things that happened in previous scenes, mostly what works best for the overall narrative, and if it comes to it, we will act it out with dialogue.

This game ended up being about a group of Jedi accompanying a senatorial Duke to a civil war-torn planet to broker a peace deal.  In the end, one of the Jedi was dead, one of them went into voluntary exile, one gets cut into pieces (but lives), one (me) is reprimanded by the Jedi Council for accepting aid from a Sith, and the Duke becomes Grand Chancellor (and eventually Emperor).

So far, btw, you haven't seen anything worrisome enough to bother setting up a watch to protect yourselves against.

(OOC: Exactly the reason to set up a watch. We don't know this place at all. There could be fairies, indigenous to this alien world, that can only feast on your soul while you sleep. At least in Maverick's mind. He's already volunteered first watch as per his love of stars / the night sky.)

Wait, you've never played in one of my games before!

What secrets has Roice been telling you all behind my back!?! >_<
